Diagnosed and repaired engine problems with my rare 67 Camaro. Turned out to be bent rods and broken rocker arms. Things were a mess. With my OK Greg & Team replaced the cam, lifters, rods, 1 valve and replaced 2 ailing rocker arms. I worked in sourcing some replacement parts (and Greg did too) and he pulled a miracle and got a 3-angle valve job done in no time. Greg's work was SOLID. The car has never run as good as it has after Greg's attention. Rate charged per hour was VERY fair, and I am happy to have found new friends to help take care of my classic car. HIGHLY recommended. My rating is "0" stars. They were recommended to me for an issue believed to be in my transmission. Took it in, $200.00 later, no diagnosis and was told the front drivers hub assembly needed to be replaced before they could diagnose. I honestly believe it was because I am a woman that they decided to bend me over completely. Will never recommend this place and will tell everyone I can about how they, put simply, took advantage of me. Terrible service. Total scammers!! read more

They got me in super fast, they were all super nice, and they were the only business to get my joke in my original post But that's not all, the good luck continued once i arrived. It goes without saying that the problem is no more; he called the morning of, which was so helpful, and everything was done within 2 hours tops (even with delay on parts!) Bill is the one who helped me and he was great. He explained everything, and was up front about pricing from the beginning (i paid less than i thought i would). Amazing customer service. Honest. Very fairly priced. They went out of their way to find a hard to find part that I needed to fix a transfer case for my Infiniti. They contacted dealers everywhere and ended up going through Nissan, found out that is was actually cheaper, and got it there faster than if they had gone through Infiniti. On top of all of that, my passenger side window was jammed and was down by a half inch. They fixed that for free. SERIOUSLY FOR FREE. These guys are THE BEST. read more

They looked at my transmissiin. Told me it would be 1600 to fix. I said no and they put the top back on and charged me 200 to look. I took it to my regular mechanic and he said it was a cheap simple fix but they had left parts out so it wouldnt work. Don't trust them read more

A little over a year ago my newly purchased, less than 5 year old vehicle was diagnosed with early transmission failure and I quickly spent thousands at Greg's to fix the problem. They broke into the transmission, made multiple repairs and replacements, including clutch and seal. I was made to believe the transmission system was now as good as new. I was very relieved and thankful to have my car back and running for my planned drive to Oregon just a few months later. On the tail-end of this trip to Oregon, the front of the vehicle once again began making the familiar grinding noise. I took the car to a reputable auto shop in the area and transmission failure was once again diagnosed. I was advised to not operate the vehicle and that the entire transmission was in need of replacement and that it would take weeks and thousands to order parts alone on top of labor and the large sum I had just spent at Greg's. As a first time car buyer out of college who had just spent the entirety of my savings on the initial "repair", the only choice was to take a major loss and sell the car for less than what I had paid this shop. On a trip from Washington to southeast Idaho, the radiator on our van failed. We pulled off i-90 into Missoula and looked up the closest auto repair shop. Gregg's was the first one we found that was open. They took a look at it immediately and got on the phone to see if they could locate a new radiator. An hour and a half later, we were back on the road. These guys are AMAZING! I had visions of hotel stays and rental cars, but they got it done. These guys are freakin' awesome! Nowadays, it can be hard to find a good honest mechanic, but Greg, Bill and the rest of the crew are the real deal. I figured when my 4wd quit working it was going to cost a lot of cabbage to get it fixed, but thanks to these guys and their ingenuity, it was a lot less than I thought. I am so glad I brought my 71 Chevy K10 into Greg's. These guys are truly professional mechanics. My truck is an old ranch plow truck that sat in storage for many years before I acquired it. It was hard to start, had a stumble on acceleration, engine ran rough, the parking Pawl was damaged and there was no Park, and the kick down was not functioning. Greg's had the truck for two days. When I picked up the truck it ran PERFECT! They did a full tune up replacing distributor cap, points, spark plug wires, spark plugs and fine tuned the carb. They set up the kick down cable and bracket, repaired the parking rod, replaced bad U-joints, and basically went through the whole truck and repaired anything mechanical that was not functioning right. I really appreciated that they repaired everything on the spot without calling to ask permission. They just did what needed to be done. Best mechanics and automotive shop around! I will never use anyone else. These guys are HONEST and detailed in their explanation for every aspect of the job. Plus they build some great Classic Hot Rods!!!! I have an interesting review to give here. First, for the general idea, Greg - the owner - is a straightforward, honest guy. He will quote work, if the work gets nastier he will tell you that before escalating the amount of labour or parts into things. He's honest about what can and can't be done and he makes a sincere attempt to fix problems that come up after work is completed. So, I brought a little car in to get an engine swap done years ago. It did not go well - at one point me and Greg were literally yelling at each other from across the counter. This the result of price misunderstandings, stress, parts confusion and all sorts of unfortunate circumstances including a sudden financial disaster that inserted a relatively long delay in pickup, which he generously accommodated. After the fact it seems to me ridiculous and actually very funny considering the situation and the content of the exchange. I should point out it was mostly my problem anyway and I seriously doubt it would have come to that point without the peculiar and one in a million interaction of both our personalities. After this, despite the obvious hatred and fury we had for one another, Greg was very faithful to his work and 100% willing to sort everything out. Eventually things were resolved at great cost to both of us; it was a fiasco, but we parted on amicable terms. What's even greater is that I usually will think of his shop first when I have an issue with my car. Of course, I would never bring it there again because I think there would be a chance of a conflagration or some other unforeseen flare up of anger. Also its wise to leave well enough alone in my opinion. Anyway, good, trustworthy place that does great work [nevermind my unlucky engine issues] and stands by it... through thick and thin I guess. If you like your car and want to keep your hard earned money DO NOT GO TO GREGS!!! if I could give them negative stars I would. First, they quoted us a for sure price over the phone, then when we pick our car up they tell us they miss understood and thought that our v8 was only a v6...well you can run the vin number on any vehicle and it tells you if it is a v8 or v6 or smaller. They then charged us $100 more for labor, and called my husband a liar. It has been only 1 month and the part they replaced is broken and has caused further damage to my vehicle! I am furious. If I could afford it I would sue. The customer service is appalling, they put the wrong parts in, and they lie, enough said. read more

Greg's auto is not a good choice for your automotive needs! Beware of this shop they are extremely unprofessional! They do not care about their customers nor do they aim to please! Zero integrity! A year ago I had over $700 done in routine maintenance work. I had to take back the vehicle because I was not satisfied with the work that was done (specifically the alignment). Somehow we got into a heated exchange over what was done and he said he didn't want to deal with my wife and said we were hard to please. Now the boots on the ball joints have already split. When I went up there to talk with him and he said he remembered me and held grudges with people so told me that my warranty was out without even looking up the info in the computer. Just before he got into the shop I spoke with his employee who said the ball joints should have lifetime warranty. The next day I took my car to Les Schwab where they told be that the ball joints were cheap parts. There's just something about this guy where we can't trust him. I had a bad feeling about the shop the first time I went by and should've went with my gut goes to show you a year later I was right! read more
