We decided on a date night out while in town, and have had Jerry's on my list for a little while. We made a reservation the night before for Saturday night. Reservations are recommended since the dining room is cozy and they might not be able to accommodate you without one. The place is so cute inside, very cozy with fresh roses on every table. We were seated toward the back against the wall, which is great. This table had comfortable high back chairs that seemed just for the tables for 2. Our server came by and introduced herself and said warm bread was coming. We had filled water glasses and took our order for additional drinks. We had a chance to look over the menu. The menu is small, but has a nice variety of favorites that you will find it easy to choose. I asked if there were any specials, but not on Saturday night. Friday night has a short rib special you could call ahead and reserve. That is a nice tip, since she mentioned they may run out. We decided to start with the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad. Beautiful presentation on the soup and an amazing flavor. So delicious. The salad is very large and looked great. They brought out a second basket of bread with delicious herb butter. I really had to stop eating the bread! For entrees, we went with the goat cheese crusted grouper, with had beautiful puréed potatoes and squash and zucchini. I wasn't sure if I would like goat cheese with grouper, but it was a fantastic pairing. The scallops were large and crispy on the outside on top of a spinach risotto. So rich and tasty. The grouper paired well with a Pinot Grigio. The server went over the dessert choices and there were several to choose from. We decided on a chocolate toffee mousse cake. So incredibly rich and delicious. If you love chocolate, get this cake. My hubs and I shared one slice and it was enough after a filling dinner. Jerry's is located in a strip mall near the Wrightsville Beach area. It is very unassuming from the outside but, this place does service, atmosphere and food in high standard. We went the day after Valentine's Day and unfortunately they still had their limited (and expensive) Valentine's Day menu, which we usually like to avoid. The food was amazing, though I'd have liked to have had the opportunity of choosing from their full menu. In addition, the server kept confusing us with another table and she was difficult to contact. The restaurant was very crowded, the tables were close together and it was very loud. This is a little hole in the wall that you don't want to miss!!! We went for my husband's birthday on a double date couples trip. The service was amazing! This was my husband's 37th birthday, and we were the "youngest" crowd in there. We are never in a rush to eat and leave. And this is that kind of relaxing place. First time here and was excited for a romantic dining experience. Restaurant is small with white lights and tablecloths, which sounds nice, BUT it is SO noisy with too many tables. No group larger than 4, but amazed at the noise level. No nice music, or if there was you couldn't hear it. Food was good, but we received entree before we had finished appetizer, which is a big pet peeve of ours - especially when paying those prices. The evening my husband asked me to marry him was preceded by a DELICIOUS Christmas dinner at Jerry's. Therefore this restaurant holds a special place in my heart...and in my tummy. Jerry's feels like a well-kept secret (that I'm letting you in on, so you're welcome :) Jerry's is a fine dining spot located in a shopping center next to a Dominoes. The menu is amazing and is ever changing, so you'll have to visit a few times in order to experience an assortment of amazing food. Jerry's is a long time Wilmington restaurant that seems to get overlooked by far too many residents. It is located at a prime location where Wrightsville Avenue ends at Eastwood Road just before Eastwood crosses the bridge on Wrightsville Beach itself. It sits in a low key strip mall sandwiched between a Domino's Pizza and a bagel shop, the restaurant is ANYTHING but low key. When you walk in, the bar is on the left, and the dining room is on the right. Jerry's has a beer and wine list, but no cocktail list. However, do NOT let that lack of a cocktail list fool you. They have a full service bar, and the bartenders know how to make more complicated cocktails like manhattan's, vieux carre's, and Hemingway daiquiri's. Just ask and you shall receive. I had a couple of manhattan's this night. The menu is upscale American. They always have a unique appetizers, soups and salads, at least two seafood entrees, and some beef and pork entrees. They are known for their Chateaubriand; you certainly won't go wrong there. I also have had their tuna with a crab/horseradish crust on top that is insanely delicious. This time, I opted for one of their specials: lamb meatballs, with portabella mushrooms sauteed to perfection, with several sauces and vegetables to keep it entertaining. The entire dish was melt in your mouth. For dessert, I couldn't resist. Jerry's serves that key lime pie made by the lady that grows her own key lime on her tree right there in Wrightsville Beach. One of these days I will remember her name, but that key lime pie is the best I ever had. Most commercial made key lime pies are way too sweet. This pie is proper tart from the key lime, and rich with just the right amount of sweetness. Jerry's does take recommendations using Open Table, and I recommend booking a few days ahead of time as they stay busy. Enjoy! read more

We had a wonderful dinner here. It was pricey but the quality of the food is exquisite. The place is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We started with the crab cocktail. I could have just picked up the cocktail glass and drank it but it's a fancy place. I then had the Caesar salad. The portion size was very generous and it was delicious. I had the grouper and my husband had the special which were short ribs. Both of our meals were fabulous. To end things, we had the chocolate torte. The chocolate was so dark, decadent and rich. Every time I go here I am amazed that there is not a line stretching around the block to go in. It is that good! We have dined here several times. From start to finish it is one of the best in ILM. The menu is compact and you can count on every dish to be outstanding. The horseradish tuna is a tour d' force. The seasonings are spot on and the overall taste is fantastic. We made reservations at 6pm on Saturday for Father's Day weekend. They graciously let us keep our table when we were about 11 minutes late. There were still plenty of tables available but it did start to fill up ~7:30pm. The restaurant is small and intimate but has a relaxed setting. The soup of the day was tomato basil. It was deliciously creamy with a slighty tart taste. It was not overly sweet or too heavy. The warm jumbo lump crab cocktail starter was also delicious. It came with roasted tomatoes and artichokes in a thin lemon-sherry butter sauce. They were served with 4 buttered grilled small baguette slices. They let us have more baguette slices at our request. The cocktail did have a small piece of shell but I didn't mind. All of the ingredients were fresh and there were plenty of crab and artichokes, chopped. For entrees, I ordered the grilled red drum fish which came with grilled cauliflower, grilled peppers, pigeon peas and a she-crab sauce. They allowed me to substitute the grits with mashed potatoes. The dish was good, fish was tender. My dinner companions also enjoyed their horseradish tuna and crispy soft shelled crab entrees. For dessert, we had the homemade cheesecake and coconut pineapple cake. I'm not a cheesecake or huge coconut cake fan, but they were both good. The coconut cake had small pieces of pineapple throughout and was topped with a rich buttercream. Service was great from beginning to end. Jerry himself stopped by each table to say hello. read more

There are a few places I am aware of that operate like Jerry's. Store front looks awful - parking lot is shady - nearby stores kinda iffy. Then you walk into the place and BAM! You're in this amazing restaurant with nice decor, great staff, and amazing food. We had four different dishes and each had four excellent results. This place is a reason to return to NC. Two years ago we celebrated our anniversary at Jerry's and found the food to be exceptional. We gave Jerry's a five star rating after that meal. Our remembrance was so positive that we made plans to go there with close friends for our significant 40th anniversary. We made reservations weeks early to ensure we could go there tonight. I was assured they'd do something over and above in honor of our special anniversary. The food was as good as we remembered it and the service was good as well. The staff did wish us a happy anniversary, but sadly nothing was done to make the celebration special (e.g. offering even a single dessert to share among the four of us). The bill, without any alcohol or dessert, came to nearly $300 for four people. We certainly didn't feel special. We don't go out a lot, so we were disappointed that Jerry's didn't do anything special. read more

Driving up to Jerry's it looks like a total hole in the wall but once you walk through the doors you are transformed into a beautiful fine dining establishment. The whole entire staff was so friendly and attentive. Our server was so great and it was only his second day. I loved him! We had the NC warm lump crab meat cocktail appetizer. It was foodgasmic! The flavors just blended perfectly. The bread was crusty and flaky-perfect! This is the first review I ever done, I'm not a big reviewer but I had to comment on our visit to Jerry's last night. We live in Sunset Beach and we're on our way back from a trip up to Rocky Mount. Katie found Jerry's on here and it's sounded great. It was better than great. Katie had the fettuccine with meatballs special and I had the seared grouper, which were both fantastically prepared and tasted great. The service was impeccable, atmosphere was great and we were treated well by everyone there! Our only regret is we live an hour away, but it will be worth the trip back!! read more

Ate at Jerry's for the first time and it was amazing. I will be honest, I never heard of it but revived a gift card and wanted to use it. First visit to Jerry's. Before going we checked the menu online. Very much to our surprise the menu has changed and the prices have increased a lot. Our service was very nice, brought small basket of bread to share, one slice each. I read previous reviews and read the previous owner served salad before the entree, no more with new owner. Everyone said they liked their entree. Unfortunately our server removed plates and utensils while one friend was still eating!!! Bad move and rude. Step inside to t top notch dining experience. A great staff and a nice dining room are great but the food is the star. Local selections of fish and fowl and meat prepared in a perfect fashion are on the menu. From apps to dessert, you will be blown away. Each preparation is gourmet quality.
