No.13 The Original Italian on White
Chris C.

I've been meaning to drop in at Jersey Mike's in Pickering since they opened in early 2025. It's been a long time but I finally made it! Now I regret not coming sooner. Their subs are great! My friend and I stopped in recently and we had the following: * #13 The Original Italian * Secret Menu #66 Portabella Cheese Steak * Turkey Provolone Chopped Salad "Sub in a Tub" * Freshly Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie We also tried their Pepper Relish, and it was really good! I need to get a bottle of it! These were the best subs I've ever had! They were super loaded and hefty, very hefty. They were also very delicious! Lots of flavour. Premium freshly sliced meats. Great flavour combinations. If you haven't had a Jersey Mike's sub, you're missing out. Go now!

Stopped by Jersey Mike's on a Thursday evening -- there was a bit of a line, but service moved quickly and efficiently. The staff were friendly and kept things moving, which I appreciated. There is some seating in the store and a good spot for take out or dine in. There's also ample parking. The cold cuts are sliced fresh to order, and they don't skimp on the fillings you really get a solid, hearty sandwich. The toppings are your usual lineup (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, etc.) with the classic Jersey Mike's combo of vinegar, olive oil, and mayo for sauces. Just note that the cold cut subs aren't toasted, it's a true cold sandwich. You can really taste the difference and quality of the deli meats. Overall, a great spot for a quick, fresh, and good-value sandwich. You can definitely taste the difference compared to other chain sub shops.

My husband loves good fried chicken and when we spotted this little joint after dropping off our…read morekid at a nearby art class, we decided to stop in for a quick bite. There were 2 basic tables and 2 friendly staff greeted us. Since it was our first time there, we wanted to try their original fried chicken. The combos here were very well priced considering the cost of everything nowadays, and we scored this 4 pc meal for something like $12ish. The chicken was decent, but a bit too oily for my taste and I didn't love seeing all the dark veins close to the bone when I bit into the drum. The Cajun fries was addictive but we didn't give their biscuit as it was more doughy than flaky. Overall, a decent option for fried chicken if you're in the area.

The employee who was taking orders and preparing the food had very long, dirty fingernails. Since he was handling both customers and food, it didn't seem hygienic and honestly made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to mention it to him at the time, but the restaurant was very busy with many customers waiting for their orders, and I didn't want to embarrass him in front of everyone. Food hygiene should be one of the highest priorities for any restaurant. I hope the management addresses this issue and ensures that all staff maintain proper personal hygiene, including keeping their nails short and clean, for the safety and confidence of customers.

This place is a definite must-try. The place has a few spots to eat, and the decor is beyond adorable and fitting. I couldn't get enough of the potato puns. The gentleman was incredibly nice in explaining what the top favs were and was even nice to allow me to add an ingredient, as one of my spuds had something removed (no coleslaw for me). My order consisted of Mexican Fiesta and Nashville Chick. My husband took his Mexican fiesta potato as is, but I ended up switching my pulled chicken for fried chicken. The potatoes were amazing! The base potato was so flavourful and not bland at all, evenly seasoned on its own without the toppings. The toppers were delicious and went well with the spud. It hasn't even been a week, and I'm already jonesing for my next potato bar experience.

I ended up with a drink leaking in my car because the carbonation was strong and didn't have a place to escape. - This place has the best brioche buns. - Get the Dubai chocolate brownie. Two Saturdays ago, I was in the Malvern area of Scarborough and had just spent some time running errands. I needed to grab some dinner. I looked at my DoorDash app. I saw a BOGO deal on a Boardwalk classic burger combo. Perfect! The combo details are as follows: - Two Boardwalk classic burgers - Two 8-ounce fries - Two fountain Diet Coke drinks I saw a Dubai chocolate brownie on the menu. I had to get it. I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I casually drove over to pick up my food. This eatery is located in a plaza. I drove southbound along Morningside Avenue and did a left turn onto Kingston Road. I then did a right into the plaza and backed into a parking spot. I walked into the eatery. There's a door to enter and a door to exit. It reminded me of Salisbury House in Winnipeg. The eatery was cheerful and spacious. I was the only person here at nearly 4 pm. I got a helpful woman who came out of the kitchen. I let her know that I had a DoorDash order. She took out my tray with my drinks and my paper bag of food. I thanked her and took everything over to my car. My food went into an insulated bag. I secured my drinks. Both drinks had the X on the lid sealed with tape. The problem with this approach is that the carbonation had no place to escape, except under the lid. Yep, I had Diet Coke leak out of one of my drinks. I ended up cleaning the mess after I removed the tape off both drinks to release the bottled-up carbonation. I drank one of them as I headed home. It tasted yummy and crisp. It was icy cold. I liked that the straws have a red diagonal stripe. They are paper and durable. Being a person who is curious about an eatery's backstory, I went on Boardwalk Canada's site to check out OUr History. It wasn't helpful with the birthplace right off the bat. It says that Dave and Fran DiFerdinando founded Boardwalk and they wanted to bring the "taste of Boardwalk fries" to Canada. Which boardwalk? It should be mentioned in the same sentence. When I think of boardwalk, it's the Beaches area of Toronto. Second? The boardwalk shopping area in Kitchener. The third? The boardwalk in Atlantic City. I don't recall any Boardwalk burger joint in any of these locations. When you read the Boardwalk Canada's story, the third paragraph says Ocean City's Boardwalk. Geez, thanks for burying this detail. As Canadians, are we supposed to know where Ocean City is? Looking at the Boardwalk US site, all my questions were answered in the tagline under the title of this History page. It's Ocean City, Maryland. Why not cut to the chase on the Canadian site with this detail?! One word: Ugh! Let's get to the food. I frankly didn't think the fries were to write home about. They are apparently cooked multiple times. I didn't taste it. They tasted like once-fried fries that were lightly seasoned. I saw tater tots on the menu. I'd rather get them than fries. I hope they are yummy. I will need to get an order and find out. The burger was delicious. The brioche bun was delightful. It was soft. Yet, it held everything together. It felt fancy and it was a nice change from a bun with sesame seeds. The seasoned beef patty was juicy and flavourful. It's halal, too. I loved the lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and secret sauce. They tasted fresh and were the perfect toppings. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie for dessert. OMG! It was stellar. It had the best semi-sweet chocolate. There was pistachio cream on top mixed crunchy kataifi bits. I'd get this dessert again in a heartbeat. I had a wonderful experience here. The burgers do run on the expensive side at roughly $10 and higher. It's excellent, though. I'd splurge getting one, along with the Dubai chocolate brownie. (368)

I love their Crispy Chicken sandwich, it's super tasty and the chicken is really crispy. My husband likes their mushroom swiss burger. Their shakes are absolutely incredible, tasty and thick. I knew they were really thick, so today I tried flipping the cup upside down... and it truly does not budge. We've now had their Nutella, Dubai chocolate, strawberry, and cookies and cream shakes. They have all been delicious! Good amount of tables on either side of the restaurant. Staff are super friendly. Their fries at both locations have been lacking. I don't typically get the combo because I don't like their fries

Ryan is the founder of the business, which he runs with family and friends. We got to meet Riott, his son, who had a love for skulls and all Halloween decorations at this eatery. This place specializes in sandwiches. Many of their meats are slow-cooked for ten hours. Sauces, soups, and slaw are homemade. We ordered many items off the menu and had what we liked: - Jalapeno and house slaws - Chickpea and ham soup - Roasted garlic and tomato soup - The Brooklyn (Italian) - Hot corned beef - Montreal smoked meat - Slicey's chopped chicken - Chicken club wrap I started with the hot corned beef sandwich. The corned beef was generous and so flavourful. The rye bread held all that tender corned beef together, along with the best grainy mustard aioli. I am a soup girl. I enjoyed the roasted garlic and tomato soup. It had the perfect amount of garlic with tomatoes, along with onions and spices. It was a comforting, smooth soup. The chickpea and ham soup was excellent. It had nice cubes of ham with chickpeas. It was so hearty and delicious. I also love slaw. The jalapeno and house slaws were crunchy. The former was creamy with a touch of heat. The latter was vinegar-based. You get the best of both slaw dressing worlds! I then had the Montreal smoked meat. It was full of the most tender smoked meat on rye bread with mustard. So good! I'm not sure how I managed to down Slicey's chopped chicken sandwich. It was so good that I did! It had slow-cooked chicken that was chopped with tomato, and red onion. It included the jalapeno slaw, along with white cheddar. It was messy to eat, but so worth it. The flavours were outstanding. This business supports other local businesses. The bread comes from a local bakery. It also features Purple Tongue hot sauces. Staff are super friendly and kind. They can craft a sandwich to your liking if you go with The Riott. There were two separate washroom stalls. I used one of them before I left this eatery. It was clean. No complaints. It's a comfortable place to hang out with friends over good food and drinks. I ended up having a Diet Coke and Crush cream soda during the two hours that we were here. They were cold and refreshing. It's street parking for three hours. It's free, which is nice. Alternatively, there is a parking lot across from this eatery. I look forward to returning for more good eats and soup. It's a gem of a sandwich place that happens to have awesome soups and slaw. (391)
