The manager at this store needs to hire more people. Shame on you to have two people working on a busy Saturday night. Review Visit: September 15th, 2013 Jersey accent not needed to order here. Out of nowhere, Jersey Mike's appeared in East Peoria. I only knew this because I got a flyer in the mail offering a free sandwich for the grand opening of Jersey Mike's. Matt got the same flyer in the mail, so I asked him if he wanted to check the place out. He agreed and we found an afternoon we were both free to redeem our free sandwiches. We got lucky as there wasn't a long wait for us to order our food. The coupon we had was for a free sandwich but we also grabbed some chips and soda to round out the meal. From what I remember, ordering a sub here is like any other sub shop. You pick out what sandwich you want from the menu and then you can customize it to your liking. Matt and I placed our ordered, waited for our food and took a seat outside. I grew up eating Subway in my late teens and early 20s so I am all too familiar with eating and ordering sub sandwiches. It wasn't until I started to travel that I realized that sub sandwiches have more to them than the mass-produced stuff they have at Subway. I've tried Head West, Firehouse Subs, Snarfs, and a few others. Once I tried these places, I haven't had Subway since. It's just my personal opinion but I feel these smaller chains do it better. Does Jersey Mike's do it better than Subway? Yes. Yes it does and then some. Jersey Mike's is easily in my Top 5 for places to get subs. Despite not remembering the specific sandwich I ordered, I do remember being amazed at the softness of the bread and the quality of everything smashed in that small crevice where the bread was split open. Each bite was full of flavor and everything tasted as if it were cooked fresh. It was with luck that I got another flyer in the mail. It was an offer that any money donated to the local firefighters earned you a free sandwich. I took the offer down there, threw some money in their firefighter tip jar and quickly scooped up my free sandwich. I remember being amazed at how good it was and that my first trip wasn't a fluke. If you like subs, you owe it to yourself to try Jersey Mike's (or one of the ones listed above). If you don't have one near you, I would encourage you to see what smaller sub shops are in your area and to try them out. First of all, there should be a designated spot where mobile orders should be picked up from. Second of all the workers don't seem to be trained on speed because our mobile order was supposed to be ready at 215 and we stood there waiting for 20 mins along with several other people and when we finally asked about our order (no one bothered to even look up and ask what we needed) they said it was still being made at 250. One of the workers should have been at the cash register handing out the mobile orders because they weren't cashing anyone out either, just taking 10 years making and wrapping the sandwiches. The line wasn't even moving. It looked like a hot mess. The food was good but the service sucks. read more

The service was very slow, the lady who made my sandwich took her sweet time and used MINIMAL condiments, she outright refused to use the spreadable and instead opted for a squeeze bottle that barely had anything in it, and on top on that, the sauce was sporadic and uneven. I have yet to try the food but my boyfriends sandwich was made incorrectly but instead of remaking it, the worker scraped the item off instead, which is dangerous because what if he was allergic to the item??? the ambiance was nice, besides the bathroom which was filthy and smelled foul. I had debated writing this review, because in truth, Jersey Mike's DID make the best sandwich in Peoria. However, after recent events I will not be returning. Roughly 3 months ago my friend treated me to Jersey Mike's. When we walked in, we were not greeted at all. There was one young man at the counter, who was very cut and dry, but not impolite. There was a tall black woman on the grill, belly hanging out of her untucked shirt, waving her spatula around looking annoyed any time the young man asked for assistance. I gave my friend a look like "what is going on here?" I was informed later that woman was the store manager. I attempted a pop in around 2:00 just couple weeks later, that delicious sandwich still on my mind, and the same manager was there again, belly hanging out of her too tight blouse, cursing at the young man on the grill to "read the ****** ticket." The store was not busy, thankfully, but I was in shock and left. I'm unsure if the manager even saw me walk in. A month later I returned, the store was crowded, and the employees looked more depressed than the toys on the island of misfits. Very discouraging, and almost off-putting. I nearly walked out and did not enjoy my meal. Next, they discounted the only sandwich I enjoyed, the portabella. They replaced it with? Nothing. My final straw was receiving a phone call from a friend that the only employee who put a smile on their face was fired, for what appeared to be no good reason on Saturday afternoon, by none other than the rude, unkempt store manager. The same manager that I presume would rather her staff walk out miserable than put a smile on a customer's face. This is truly a shame, but for these and so many other reasons I will not be returning to this location. I hope you can find better management to better represent your store. The staff are so miserable, and the turnover is high. With management the way it is, I can certainly see why. When you're charging nearly $20 a sandwich, the least you could do is have staff that feel good about the work they're doing, rather than afraid to speak to their manager or ask for assistance. I hope ownership takes this review seriously and looks at the people running their stores. I know I am not the only customer choosing not to return at this time. read more

I'll be honest, I'm a Jersey Mike's freak. It's not uncommon for me to be in there a few times a week. I always get the # 3. The Ham and Provolone. I'm not a Provolone fan, so I always substitute with the White American. Everyone is always friendly. It's usually busy in there, and you can tell the workers are sometimes overwhelmed, but they still keep moving, with a smile. I like being able to order on the app. It's nice on your lunchbreak when you can just pop in and pickup. The only thing I would change, I wish we had one in Peoria Heights. But that might be bad, because I'd gain 500lbs! read more

I placed an order via mobile application for three giant sandwiches. The order was supposed to be two steak and one chicken. However, I ended up with three steak sandwiches. I called Jersey Mike's GM and explained the error only to be told that I needed to bring one of the steak sandwiches back in order to receive the correct chicken sandwich. No apology for the inconvenience, no Incentive for the inconvenience; just make sure you bring the sandwich back to receive the replacement. I had to have somebody drive back to grab the replacement. We have never been to Jersey Mike's before. Stopped in yesterday to give it a try. I was not impressed. When standing at the counter it looked like the back was not very clean. One of the girls at the counter looked as if she would have liked to be any place but where she was. We ordered our sandwiches and waited while being made. I am pretty sure that the one at the register was new and wasn't sure what was in her job description. When we went to the drink station there was no ice for the warm pop. My husband orders uber ears for pickup all the time from here. Went to pickup sandwiches today and staff said uber eats picked it up for delivery. Even showing her app that clearly said order pickup and not for delivery she said he had to bring it up to uber eats. Of course we still are without any sandwiches and nothing was delivered. My husband and I stopped to pick up 4 regular subs for our families dinner. The manager told us, after we waited in line for 20 minutes, that they were low on bread and could only give us 2 regular subs because there were 2 of us in line. How does this work for covid restrictions? So if one of us went in, we can only buy one sub? How does a sub shop run low in bread? AMAZING SERVICE. I have been coming here 3 times a day for 5 years now. I love there sandwiches. The staff bring my sandwiches to my table on a silver platter. Every time I walk inside the entire staff drops what there doing and comes to the door and greets me on there knees. The staff is so kind they give me free food on my birthday. I can't speak for other Jersey Mike's but this location is terrible. Last night I ordered delivery, my sandwich was on the wrong bread (which seemed a bit stale) and I was missing part of the order. I tried calling several times but the phone immediately goes to a message stating the voicemail is full. The previous visit a few months ago was worse, the guy didn't offer us white bread because they were running low. He seemed irritated when I asked if I could still have it. The woman making our sandwiches wasn't paying attention to what we said. One sandwich should have been mike's way (with vinegar and oil), and the other (a club that came with Mayo) was not supposed to have the vinegar/oil combo. She made both sandwiches mikes's way and added Mayo. When I was paying, my dad caught the mistake on my sandwich so I told her I didn't want mayo. She tried to just scrape it off and then seemed annoyed when I told her no, I want a new sandwich. Got home and realized the other sandwich was also wrong. In addition to that, they were also out of lids for drinks. Customer service is greatly lacking at this location. I will try other locations but I've given this one multiple tries and they almost always get it wrong. read more

Visited 1/30/2023 and ordered three subs. The girl working the cash register acted like I was bothering her even ordering so I asked what time they closed and she told me 9 pm. It was 7:30. Ordered one hot sub and two cold subs. Two cold subs made and hot sub was being made by the other employee. My daughter and I were filling our sodas when the first girl attempts to hand me a sandwich. I was like is that mine. She says yes. I said can I get some toppings on it?. She says the toppings are already on there-the mushrooms onions and jalapeños and apparently on their hot subs you can't have lettuce. I ordered Jersey Mike's at least once a week, and I always get a mini turkey that comes on a different type of bread, it is usually about 4 inches in length. when they started to make my sandwich, they took a cut up piece of bread that was sitting there before I walked in that was cut directly from one of the larger slices of bread. When I asked if I can have it on the other bread, they just stared at me and then, when I asked them how come, it doesn't look like the picture above them, and on the same bread, they just stared at me a somemofe . I had never heard of this place before stopping in on a busy weekend. Their gimmick is that they fresh slice your meat choices right in front of you from a deli cooler at the front counter after you order your sandwich. There are a lot of choices that can be a salad, or sandwich on white or wheat. You can also have your sub toasted. I ordered a mini that was about 5-6 inches and it came out to be $6.24 so a little more expensive than Potbelly's next door. Their bread has a really nice crust on it with a soft, fresh bite inside. I don't especially care for bread so I took off the bottom bun and made it open-faced. Their toppings were fresh and flavorful although were pretty skimpily added. Two small slices of a roma tomato doesn't really cover 6 inches of sandwich. I didn't think there was anything too crazy special about the sandwich I ordered: California Club with turkey, bacon and avocado. Maybe it's the Jersey toppings of vinegar and oil that really bring it up a notch? I'll give them another try to find out. One star definitely came off for too many people in the assembly line of workers. One slices the meat and lays it on the sandwich, one person adds toppings, one person wraps it in paper and writes a smily face on it, one person rings you up at the register. The person wrapping the sandwich is totally superfluous. Not to mention that he has on gloves and is touching the sandwich directly but is also picking up and using a Sharpie to write a number and smiley face on the wrapper after the cashier is also touching your money and the same Sharpie. That person needs to go do something else and leave the wrapping to the person doing the toppings and skip the dumb smiley face on the wrapper altogether. The thought of all those money germs getting on my fresh sandwich made my smile turn into a frown. read more

As far as the food goes, my sandwich was absolutely delicious. One of the best sub's I've had at a sub shop. Fresh meat, fresh ingredients- perfect. The staff was also very friendly and helpful as well. The reason it doesn't get the five stars it deserves was the interaction between the manager and one of the workers. A younger girl welcomed us and asked how she could help us only to be immediately sternly told by her manager working on something behind her that she needed to go do a different job instead. And it didn't just stop there, she went on and on to her and a co-worker, which created an awkward moment and we could tell the young girl felt embarrassed. There were no name tags being worn, but the manager had red hair and glasses. She was friendly to us a few minutes later after the episode, but how she handled her staff, especially in front of customers was inappropriate and from everything we saw, completely unnecessary and an abuse of power. It's unfortunate because the food was great. However, I have no plans to return to that particular store until that manager is removed. read more

This is the one sub shop where I've found gluten free bread, and it was really good! I knocked off one star for the price. I understand that there will be an upcharge for gluten free substitutes in most establishments, but $10 for a six-inch sub is a bit steep. Today was my first time at Jersey Mike's and it won't be my last. I ordered the Chipotle Cheesesteak and it was one of the best cheesesteak I have ever had. I ordered a regular sized and it was more the enough, and priced very reasonably for the size and quality. With the regular size that large I can't even imagine how big the giant must be. Two co workers and I decided to finally try Jersey Mike's as we had not had it before. The roast beef and provolone was $12.50 for a 6 inch combo with tax! The sandwich was the most bland sub I have ever eaten. The subs are sloppily made on a counter top and the store was absolutely filthy. All of the open tables were dirty with bread crumbs and leftover toppings. One of the most disappointing experiences I have had. All 3 of us will NEVER go back!!
