This was my 2nd visit to Jersey Mike's since they returned to Lexington. I visited on lunch today and despite the long line, I ordered and received my sub in just a few minutes. It was impressive how quickly they served everyone. I had a Turkey and Provolone mini sandwich which is one of the cold sandwiches. I got it Mike's Style which includes lettuce, tomato, onion, vinegar,oil, and spices. I was torn between the regular and mini sized sandwich but the mini sandwich was just perfect when paired with a bag of chips. They have some tables outside so if it's a nice day, I recommend taking your sandwich outside as long as you don't mind the smell of burgers grilling at the nearby CookOut. Oh and they have a rewards program so be sure to sign up and then enter your phone number at checkout. read more

I am a regular customer and normally go to the Hamburg location. They are amazing at that location. But, decided to go to the Broadway location and it was the worst experience. I ordered through my app to get points. I always go later because the sandwich is usually finished before I get there. Yes there were busy but, my sandwich sat right there on the counter. They would ask when someone comes in what is the name on the order. They did not ask my name. 3 customers received their sandwiches and mine still sat on the counter not bagged. I finally spoke up and they are like we are busy. I said my name and finally after 8 minutes of waiting left. I get to eat my sandwich the lettuce is brown and dry. I am very disappointed and will never go to this location again!!! read more

Whenever I review an establishment, I try to look beyond good service, or good food, or good selection. Most apprising businesses endeavor to offer a good product. For me, I try to find or discover what sets a business apart from other of its competitors. I watch for the special touches that prove a business is going out of its way to cater to their customer. Today I found it as this establishment. My wife and I arrived during a very busy lunch rush. When we walked in, there were no tables available. With confidence, I ordered our meal. While we were doing so, a table opened and we were able to dine in. Let me start with the only negative of the whole experience. Parking. Parking lot was full. (Usually means a lot of people think its a good place to eat). Enough said. We found parking, but it was at a premium when we were there. Upon entering the establishment and finding it full of lunch goers, I expected some level of disarray. There was none. There was a plethora of people behind the counter. We were greeted upon arrival. I ordered a regular Italian sandwich made Mike's way. As usual, the sandwich was filled with meat and the goodies. I've never gotten a slack sandwich from a Jersey Mike's. My wife has a very prolific sensitivity to gluten and one of the reasons we eat at Jersey Mike's is because they have gluten free deli rolls. Here is where I found what sets this establishment, and all Jersey Mike's aside from other culinary competitors of its type. Upon understanding my wife's need for safe food, the gentleman who had made my sandwich began making my wife's sandwich. That included wiping all the crumbs from the counter, wiping down the utensils and making sure that he changed his gloves. There was a very deliberate effort made to ensure that my wife's sandwich was safe and enjoyable for her to eat. After cleaning the entire workspace and donning new gloves, this employee finished crafting my wife's sandwich with the same care and concern that he had made mine. Despite the work involved with providing her this product, our wait time was not affected. Our food was made quickly and according to our desires. While this was happening, someone in the staff cleaned a table that had become unoccupied, and my wife and I sat down at a clean table to enjoy our meal. The soda fountain was clean, and our beverages were dispensed correctly. I highly recommend the cream soda. It is delicious and not too sweet. As we ate, tables would clear and almost immediately, as if they were waiting to pounce, someone would come out and clean the table and prepare it for the next guest. The floor was clean. The windows were clean. The kitchen was clean. Trash cans were emptied and not overflowing despite how busy things were. Guess where I went next? Back to the restrooms I trotted myself, for no other purpose... than finding them clean as well. While we were there, there was a steady line of to go orders going out the door. Each customer was greeted, even if they were going to dash. While we were eating, someone checked on us to make sure we were happy with our meal. My wife and I had a pleasant lunch date together and felt safe and comfortable eating here. The counter was well staffed, the food was good and the quality of the product for the money was worth it. Despite how busy it was, there was a friendly, bustling ambience. People seemed genuinely excited to be dining there. Smiles and laughter abounded from different tables. For a very busy, inner-city store, this Jersey Mike's is rocking it! My wife and I will eat here again and enjoy other lunch dates to this location. Ordered food using their delivery service. Put the hotel address in the driver can't find the largest hotel in downtown Lexington. They claimed they were given the wrong address when the address is clear on the location services. I call the store since I placed the order on the jersey Mike app. The person who picks up not listening to what I was saying but, wasn't any help. Covid! I really wish this could be a better review... but the sandwiches one do not travel well. They were cold with a five minute drive to sit in the red mile parking lot. The team was more worried about getting people through the line that paying attention to what was asked for. They also did NOT give a damn about social distancing!!! I finally was stern after asking the guys behind me to back up! The employees at the registers heard me and still they proceeded to pull people through the line to get them rung out. I think I scared the kid but my spouse is a nurse on the covid floor and we have remained covid free by doing what is required! Just wish some of these employees would! This was my first visit to a Jersey Mike's. The place was packed on a Sunday at lunch time. We even had to request a table to be cleaned off. I was a bit decisiveness, but decided to go with the buffalo chicken wrap and clarified that I wanted it warm. Even though the wrap wasn't warm, I must say that it was delicious. My husband got a chicken Philly Cheese steak sandwich and requested Franks hot sauce to be added. They're not shy on the sauces, so be careful. My husband wasn't as impressed as I was, his bread on his sandwich was cold, just like my tortilla was... which is a weird consistency for the bread/wrap on a hot sandwich to not even be toasted. So that's my biggest tip... if you order a hot sandwich, request the bread to be warmed or toasted. It's a bit over a dollar extra to make it a small combo, adding a small bag of chips and a Pepsi product fountain drink or tea. The tea was a bit watered down, and I usually like my tea weak. Typical sub shop but they do slice the meat right then when you order a sandwich so makes it taste even more fresh than your everyday place. Took my son after an event and got him the kids meal which is a drink sandwich and cookie, I ended up getting the Italian and was very pleased. First time eating at a Jersey Mike's. Honestly wasnt bad, big differences from some of the other sub shops you may visit. For starters they cut their meat fresh right in front of you instead of having it presliced and shipped. Theres only 2 types of sandwich breads which is white or flatbread. I really enjoyed my sub but the downside was the price. A regular sub with drink and chips was over $11. If the price had been better I would have given them a 5 star rating. Much prefer Jersey Mike's to the other sub shop chains. The closest comparison would be Jimmy John's but Jersey Mike's also offers a number of hot subs and wraps. I have been twice and ordered the #13 Original Italian both times (make sure you get the cherry pepper relish) which the employee cheerfully informed was what made Mike famous. A regular Italian and a bag of chips runs $9 and change. I have been very happy with the size and quality of the sub both times. The Italian has Provolone, Ham, Prosciuttini, Cappacuolo, Salami, and Pepperoni and in my opinion is meant to be eaten Mike's Way which adds onions, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, oregano, and salt (hold the onions). In the end, it is just a sub sandwich and is probably a dollar or two more expensive than Jimmy John's but I am very excited that Lexington finally has a Mike's again. read more

Always great service, food is excellent. Open till 9 and that really does mean open till 9. They serve until 9, and you can still hang and eat inside and they are really nice about it. It's always clean when I'm there. It's my post-run go to spot to get refresh those carbs and protein. Their app is okay, but currently you can only add points to your reward card and purchase an order ahead of time but for some reason you can't pay at the store in the app.?. You have to use Apple Pay or some other electronic payment or card or cash of course. Strange though you can't pay via the app. Favorite place for a sandwich for sure. My boyfriend swore by this place and maybe the fact that the sandwich I picked I wasn't that crazy about didn't help but I'm not a huge fan. The restaurant was clean and employees were super friendly upon us entering. They have a decent selection of hot and cold subs. He let me know when I asked for it toasted that they didn't have a toaster or oven but a microwave that could do the job. That was fine to me and the bread didn't taste funky after. The regular size sandwich is HUGE and that's not an understatement. I wish I had gotten a kids meal none the less. I got halfway through the sandwich and just couldn't do anymore. In the interest of full disclosure, I've been back to this shop a few times since the original review. All in all, I still think it's a bit pricey, but the items I've tried have all been tasty. They try (perhaps a little too hard) to be friendly. They have a decent app and reward program, so I'm warming up to them nicely. Fantastic Italian sub and the bread is very good as well. It was seasoned well. I recommend getting it "Mike's Way" that includes onions, tomatoes, lettuce, oil, vinegar and spices. I loved the Jersey Mike's that used to be on Limestone years ago so I was excited to see them open this location. I was sorely disappointed. The employees were friendly enough but it took kind of a long time to get our food, considering the place was almost empty. I got a buffalo chicken wrap that had sad, scraggly lettuce on it and the chicken had a weird rubbery texture, almost like it had been frozen and thawed a few times. LOVE, this Jersey Mike's!! The staff is so helpful & friendly. Food is fresh, sliced to order. When I feel like eating light I usually order the tuna in the tub Mike's Way minus oil. So delicious! I made my way over to the other side of town to Visit this place for the first time. I've been to JM before in other cities but never to this location so I was somewhat excited but things didn't go as expected. I went with the chipotle steak and cheese with chips and a drink. The total was $18.25 with 10% tip which I think is crazy to tip a sandwich shop but I didn't want to feel like a cheapskate either which I was guilted into anyway since they verbally ask you make a selection and confirm while you pay. But $18.25 for a sub in a basic sub shop with horrible 80's music with ZERO atmosphere and kid employees carrying on a conversation from one side of the shop to the other by yelling back and forth to each other did not make my dining experience a positive one. Not to mention the person fixing my sub had long greasy unkept hair that made me think of a homeless person. The bread was very big and fluffy but too big and fluffy if that makes any sense. The ingredients of my sandwich literally feel all over the table as I tried to eat it. Not cool as I hate really messy food. The taste was just okay but I could have been better for the $$ or I could have just went to Subway or Jimmy johns for half the price. I did mention the horrible music to the staff and I wanted to tell them about the yelling back and forth but I didn't want to lose my cool as it would have just made it worse. I have been feeling kinda bad ever since I ate as well I hope I didn't get food poisoning or something. I don't think I'll be making the trip back to the other side of town again to visit JM.
