This is the best Jersey Mike's I've ever been to. Sure, it was a little shaky when it first opened, but that's to be expected. The employees were LEARNING the ropes. I emphasize that because some people here on Yelp are absolutely ridiculous with their expectations, clearly people that never worked in the customer service industry a day in their life. The staff at Jersey Mike's are friendly and courteous. Since I'm a regular customer, they all know me and what I like, but even the new customers are treated with the same friendliness and respect. The lines are never terribly long and if they ever were, this place is set up with double stations so they'd be completely prepared for a rush. The place is always clean and the food is always delicious. Definitely a huge win for Lorton which desperately needed new lunch choices. I've been to this Jersey Mike's location at least 25 times over the past two years and I am normally content with the service and the sandwiches we order from them. Today was a different story. The BLT I ordered was meager to say the least and was 85% bread. I will not order this sandwich again at this location. Additionally, when you order takeout, you are forced to ask for your order at the counter, which creates a traffic jam at the register and makes it inconvenient. There's almost no point to ordering through the app if you still have to ask for your order when you arrive. read more

Though we've never been disappointed in the food, and it's my daughter's favorite spot (we're there twice a week minimum), the customer service has been fantastic. From the sandwich makers, to checkout, up to store management, all have been friendly, funny yet professional, generous, and understanding when we (the customer) have made mistakes, and corrected issues other affiliated stores have made when they had no obligation. I had to share my experience of grabbing lunch at this Jersey Mike's today. The crew was clearly hit with a huge rush when I entered - a big line of customers and clearly takeout orders, just flooding them. I wanted to commend the staff who did a stellar job at handling everyone's business cool, calm, and collected. There was a definitive wait for me to get through the line, but I was impressed with the team's care, approach, and friendliness with each customer, despite being in the weeds. The owner even jumped in and helped take orders! It's stellar to see that kind of leadership which clearly trickles down the the team here. My lunch was delicious as I always expect Jersey Mikes to be, but I will 100% be sure to stop in and recommend this location again as they clearly have what it takes as a team to handle tough moments, but still leave customers feeling happy and welcomed! read more

This Jersey Mike's is located in the Lorton Valley Shopping Center and just moved into the area. It's between Starbucks and The Barber Shop. It was my first time at a Jersey Mike's and unfortunately I wasn't very impressed. The stagg didn't acknowledge people who walked into the store even when there weren't many people there (and no one was at the cashier). They didn't ask if they could help us with anything or ask to take our order. We got the Philly Cheesesteak and the Chicken Caeser Wrap. The Philly Cheesesteak was pretty good but the Chicken Caeser Wrap was pretty disappointing. Moreover, the staff were cursing while we were eating a meal and it was very unprofessional--especially because this is a place where many families with little ones could come. I've always been a big fan of Jersey Mike's and my family and I were excited when we saw this one was opening up in Lorton soon. Thanks to New Hope Church, we learned when it was having it's grand opening and came in on the 10th. What a great, well run location. The owner was awesome and so friendly. The lead sub maker (probably a supervisor or manager) clearly was a seasoned pro for the franchise. Our sub were all awesome as I would expect. Normally we stick with the #13 (the Italian), which is an awesome sandwich when done Mike's way with mayo and peppers added. We consider Jersey Mike's to be the best for cold subs and just ok for hot subs, but this time we decided to get a 13 and a 56 - the Big Kahuna Cheesesteak (without the jalapenos). WOW! My wife and I don't know when we have last had a cheesesteak that was so incredible, if ever. The meat and peppers/onions/mushrooms stuffed that role and gooey cheese was everywhere (in the most amazing way). Sure my hands were a mess afterwards, but that's how it should always be. If you haven't been to a Jersey Mike's before and are in the area for a sub, this is the place to go. What clearly makes this such a great chain is that the quality meats are sliced to order - it makes all the difference in the world. One of the best Jersey Mike's locations I've been to. Store is new, so staff speed is a work a progress but they are friendly. Very good hot subs, I really like the Chicken Cheesesteaks. I came in here today for a very early lunch. I have to say first up that the people working behind the counter are the friendliest and you can see they got it together. Today I decided to go for the Chipotle cheese steak sub. It includes grilled onions, green peppers, steak of course, and mayonnaise. I decided to hold off on the onions because I'm not a fan, and switch up the mayonnaise for mustard. At nearly $14 this sub was huge! The steak was fresh and spot on! I also ordered a fountain drink that consisted of a Sierra Mist. I've been to other locations, and I have to say that here it is a step above the rest. Even though I don't live close by, I would come back here again if I am ever in the neighborhood. I had a great lunch and now I am so full! read more

The worst part is when you order while you're the only one in the store and other people show up 10 minutes later and start receiving their orders first. I had one of the worst customer service experiences ever at this location earlier today. Leaving the grocery store I decided to order something quick and easy for the ride home. I ordered through the app, thinking this was easy and efficient. As soon as I hit send I realized that I had made a mistake placing my order so I walked into the store hoping to catch them before they started making it so I could ask a question. I was treated with disrespect by the woman at the register and when I questioned the time of my food I was treated with contempt for even asking. Brash, ugly and disturbing enough, I walked away from the store, got in my car and drove away. So upset that I called the store to confirm cancellation and that was even more horrible. The guy answering the phone was laughing and joking (at me I expect) with his co-workers, I asked that my order be cancelled and my money refunded and he left the line. After about 15 seconds I was put on hold and after another 30 seconds on hold I hung up. Absolutely disgusting that a paying customer would be treated so callously, I will wave every time I walk by the door into one of the surrounding businesses to enjoy a happy healthy environment. read more

Big fan of JM but this new location has a long way to go! At least a dozen people in line the entire time we were there, many people walking out or never even getting in line. Slowest moving line, very disorganized, jumping around taking orders, skipping over people. One man said he waited 1/2 hr for a steak and cheese! Mu husband and I went to Jersey Mike's because it's close to home and we had coupons, plus I was "Jones-ing" for a steak and cheese wrap. We were prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt because they just opened a while ago. When we walked in there was only one person ahead of us, so we were expecting to be waited on shortly, however, they were slow in taking our orders and got it wrong three times. I also asked for a wrap, but got a sub. My husband's order came out in 20 minutes and mine in 30. The associates are in training, please tell them to calm down, focus on the job at hand, and listen to what the customers want. The only person there who performed her job well was the cashier. (Seems women outperform men every time.) We won't be coming back for some time; we want to give them time to improve their service. Also, my steak and cheese was just omay: not enough meat. My husband's meatball dub wasn't tasty at all. Please try to do better in the future and pile that meat higher. You don't get enough for what they charge. read more
