Honestly, this won't be a long review. Most of you probably can ascertain how I feel about JM as a franchise. But for those not "in-the-know", there isn't a single sandwich shop in the Nashua area (to my knowledge) that can even hold a candle to this one. To put it succinctly, the true measure of a sandwich shop is how many different subs you can order from them that you actually enjoy as opposed to reacting like, "yeah....this one's alright." For context, I routinely order at least 3 different subs from here. And whilst Mike's Famous Philly will always hold a special place in my heart, I can aptly say that I almost equally immensely enjoy the tuna and chicken Philly subs as well. So, that really only leaves one other differentiating factor: the location itself. This one's my preferred spot, not only because they're the closest one to where I live; but also because they are generally one of the easiest locations to get into. To briefly elaborate on this, it's how the parking lot is configured. It's a relatively wide open space with two entrances; one of which is on the side that doesn't impede the mainstream traffic on Amherst Street. A crucial feature for us locals who prefer using the back routes to circumvent the vexing backlog of rush hour traffic which continues to plague the vast majority of society to this day. But....I digress. I mean, do I really need to say more? Between the fresh ingredients, consistent execution of orders, and friendly faces, this place slaps hard! We had road tripped from Boston Logan international airport and headed across state lines into New Hampshire that evening. I thought of what's cheap and open in New Hampshire around 8:30pm on a Thursday evening. My friend was still full from the Five Guys earlier, so I ended up deciding on Subway and proceeded to mobile my order in when we got to maybe 20 miles away, so we'd pull up and the order would be as freshly made as possible. The entire experience here, along with the mobile ordering, took about 10 minutes in total. Took me 5 minutes to put in the order while on the road, then 2 minutes to pick up the order after arriving and entering the store. It was definitely quick and painless. The lady was helping someone when I was arrived, but my order was already made and waiting for me. She was friendly and nice. So it was just a quick grab and go. Subway's mobile ordering system & app made it so simple, it's really remarkable at how these online ordering apps made life so much more easier and definitely convenient for anyone of us who are on the road and want something healthy to have. Mobile app ordering is key here because if you're on the road and want something before the store is closed for the night, timing is key here, unless you have the restaurant's phone number and you can phone it in. As far as parking goes, they have a generous amount, a parking for you to park and grab your order, since they share a parking lot with other restaurants and commercial stores nearby. Not sure if Ed, New Hampshire has public transportation that shares with other neighboring towns with Manchester, New Hampshire, but obviously ideally you would want to have a car of your own or rent one. Of course, if you don't have the means to do that, you can also have an Uber or Lyft at your disposal. As for me, though, I had a friend drive me from Boston Logan International Airport to my hotel in Manchester, but we made a pitstop here to grab dinner in Bedford, New Hampshire. So it worked out though, friend bonding time, and I get a free ride to my hotel. The footlong was made fresh to order and was definitely the highlight of my travel day. If you're in the area and want a good alternative to what's out there, consider coming to this subway restaurant in Bedford, New Hampshire. I ordered the Italian sub with the everything. They assured me that my food allergy (carrots) would be a problem for my order. My Italian sub was very very good. The bell peppers on it were a surprise but a pleasant one. They added a nice crunch and sweetness to the sub. I do wish there was a little more meat on it however that is just a matter of preference. A few of my coworkers also live in this neighborhood and they frequented Cimo's for many years and Ordway's before that. Flanagan's offers made to order breakfast & lunch sandwiches/subs, grilled items, pizza, chili, soups, plus grab & go items such as wraps, subs, finger sandwiches, salads, deli salads, parfaits, baked goods and special heat & serve entrees (shepherd's pie, jambalaya). The prices here seem reasonable, most made to order items $5-$10 range. Place your order at the deli counter (they give you an order slip to bring over to pay at the market register, and pick up your prepared food at the deli counter. Besides prepared food items, the market offers a variety of cold beers (including NH beers), bottled soft drinks, juices, water, wine, hot coffee, snacks, candy, bread products, NH maple syrup, fresh berries, and NH Lottery scratch tickets. There is also an ice cream trailer outside next to the building too! I stopped in here twice this week, for takeout dinner and takeout lunch. Earlier this week, I stopped in here around 7:15 PM near closing time, but the deli/grill counter was closed for the day (closes at 5 PM), so I was limited to grab & go items only. I picked up a container of homemade macaroni salad ($3.25/lb plus tax) and a microwave & serve Jambalaya ($5.99 plus tax) to enjoy at home. The macaroni salad had a mix of soft ridged elbows, chopped celery, red peppers, tomatoes, seasonings in a light mayo dressing. The Jambalaya (heated in microwave) had a medium spicy flavor with a mix of red beans, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, chicken, smoked sausage and long grain rice in a tomato broth. Later this week, I stopped in here around lunch time and the place was very busy, parking lot very full. I placed my order the deli/grill counter for the Our Cuban Sub ($8.50 plus tax) and also grabbed a container of Garden Salad ($3.95/lb plus tax). Since the place was very busy, it took about 15 minutes before my name was called to pick up my sub. The Our Cuban Sub (7") was thick and heavy, layered with slices of grilled deli ham, tender carved pork, chopped dill pickles, yellow mustard, melted provolone cheese on a thick soft chewy toasted white sub roll. The Garden Salad had a mix of farfalle (bowtie) pasta, chopped red peppers, green peppers, green zucchini, yellow zucchini, spinach, cheese in a light oil dressing. Overall, the food I ordered from Flanagan's South Ender was excellent and freshly prepared. I will definitely have to stop in here for breakfast takeout before work shift.
