What kind of a sandwich/sub shop doesn't toast their bread? For years, Jimmy John's didn't and now they will toast any sandwich. (But maybe they are sick of receiving backlash from the owner's bad PR on trophy hunting) I think most people want their bread toasted or at least put on the grill. Either way, I don't need to go to Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's I ended up with a Philly Cheesesteak because it's the only sandwich they offer w toasted bread. This was my first time here. Jersey Mike's has grown far beyond its single location in New Jersey and has exploded into a sub sandwich empire. This particular location is in Melbourne, Florida. I will say that I believe that Jersey Mike's has some great training for their franchisees because I find that Jersey Mike's locations all possess a relative of consistency. This is definitely a good thing because when I go into a Jersey Mike's, I want it to be consistent. This location was consistent with the quality that I expect from Jersey Mike's. The staff was friendly and professional and definitely enhanced my overall experience. The inside is relatively a no-frills type ambiance, but it is bright and a sub shop should not really be some type of fancy place. My go-to sub is usually their Italian sub. This is not only true at a Jersey Mike's, but for the most part, any sub shop. Overall, this particular Jersey Mike's location was an overall winner. read more

Update: Except for one employee, the others did not know the meaning of customer service. No greeting, apparently they had to be there, no eye contact, & one of the clerks was dumping pepper while I was telling him no pepper & no salt. The cashier obviously did not want to be there, either. I had trouble with their credit card reader. He just stood there watching & did not offer to help. Again no greeting & frowning (like the other guys). When the machine came to the tip category, he leaned almost over the display screen to see what I would put. You guessed it--no tip this time. After that, no farewells & he walked away. I go by taste of food, the price, but I also go by customer service & this Jersey Mike's didn't have any (except for that one employee--otherwise the rating would have been 1 star). read more

When it comes to submarine sandwiches (subs), I usually default to one place over the others: Jimmy John's. Unfortunately, there really isn't a Jimmy John's near where I lived (at the time) and there is no way I am stepping into a Subway's unless it is a "last resort." Ergo, Jersey Mike's Subs was my one and only choice. I went in on a Friday night with my friend Roadie. We wanted to get a quick bite to eat before hitting the gym. Upon entering, the Jersey Mike's Subs restaurant was nothing spectacular. You can literally remove all the Jersey Mike's branded advertising and nomenclature and replace it with any other sub restaurant decor and you wouldn't know the difference. It was at least clean which is probably the most important detail when it comes to an interior inspection. The staff was brash but they weren't rude. We especially like Noah since we know him to also be a staff member at Planet Fitness. Ergo, he took care of us when we got our food. I honestly don't remember what subs we did get, but they were good. Nothing spectacular or stand-outish compared to other sub restaurants, but good nevertheless. Ultimately, what I am trying to say is that Jersey Mike's Subs is neither phenomenally good or horrendously bad. It is a decent joint to get a decent sub at a decent price. Needless to say but if I am hankering for a sub, I would consider this Jersey Mike's Subs as an option more so than Subway's... that is until a Jimmy John's opens up nearby (which it did). read more

Way overpriced for the size of the sub. Quality is average, seriously would not recommend this option in the sandwich space in Melbourne.

The grilled veggie wrap is what I order. Grilled onions & green peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, w/ provolone, Swiss, & ranch dressing. They have white, wheat, or spinach wrap. I wish they gave more grilled veggies & less lettuce but it's definitely a big wrap. I've never waited long for my order. The place seems pretty clean & the employees are polite. read more

I have bought subs at JM for years and watched their prices climb. I went in there tonight and got a Giant roast beef and provolone. The husky fellow sliced my provolone so thin you can see my finger through it and it tore because nothing there. He singled layered the provolone which probably matched what a deli package of cheese would be equivalent to barely 2 slices. The roast beef was shaved so thin and it didn't even cover all the bread. There was more lettuce and tomato then meat and cheese. When you pay over 15 dollars for a sub you want meat and cheese. I could buy a steak for that at Texas road house with all the fixings for that price. I'm a native of the area and been to this one on Wickham in front of Walmart many times. I've watched their prices continue to rise over the years but this is the skimpiest sub I have EVER gotten from them. I usually only eat half then put rest away. I added some of my own cheese to give it more bulk and half still didn't fill me up! Major rip off, their quality of sub for the price is awful! Save your money bc it's not worth over fifteen dollars. Their roast beef is the best but I want to at least taste it for over $15!!! Not even worth one star!! read more

Having tried sub sandwiches all over the country, I can say that Jersey Mike's is one of the best I've ever encountered. I don't visit the Wickham Corners plaza next to the Wal-mart Supercenter often, so I was surprised to see a new sign on the building when I finally did drive by. I made a mental note to come back and check it out. So, today was the day. Over the years, I've become numb to the bland tastelessness of such places as Subway and Quiznos. I've lost interest in the sandwiches from Publix. Overall, I've just grown to be an automaton, following the other robots in and out of the ordinary sub shops. Today was the day to break the cycle. To break free from the bonds of slavery to the Bland Brigade. Today, I tried Jersey Mike's. One of the great things about Jersey Mike's is that the meat isn't sliced early on (or pre-packaged) and left to simply languish in pans day in and day out. They slice the meat (and the cheese!) right there in front of you. And they do it with a friendliness unseen at many other places (remember, the automatons work behind the counters at those places as well!). I ordered the Club Sub, which is provolone, ham, turkey and bacon. And boy do they put a lot of bacon. And unlike Subway, Jersey Mike's bacon is CRISP which is a major thing with me. If you've read my breakfast reviews, then you know how I am about bacon being crisp. The sandwiches are sizable. In fact, the largest is called the 'Giant'. And it lives up to that name. They also have a regular and a small. They also have a standard 'way' for making their sandwiches called "Mike's Way'. This is simply the standard veggies plus oil vinegar and a spice blend. But it's fantastic. This was easily the best sub I've had in years. And years. And years. Oh, I'm sure I'll return to Subway now and then, but not until I've tried Mike's tuna first. read more

So I do an online order and pay. I immediately get a call saying that they can't make my food because they are out of bread....that would be like Starbucks saying they are out of coffee or Waffle House being out of waffles. The owner of Jersey Mike's Melbourne location has impressive confidence in his restaurant. From his parking lot you could throw a rock toward Staples and hit a Subway less than a block away. There is also a Firehouse subs on the same side of the street a block or less away. I tried Jersey Mikes on a Tuesday, when the line at Tijuana Flats was out the door, and I turned to the Yelp App to show me something close by, open, fast, and with good reviews. I had a sub with ham, turkey, some kind of cheese ( I forgot whether it was Swiss or Provolone), with a drink and a bag of chips on a "combo" deal for around $8.00. The sandwich was good but certainly did not warrant the 5 star reviews found on Yelp. The quality of their meats is IMO definitely a step up from Subway. The bread was fresh. At a price point for lunch of much closer to $10.00 than to $5.00 I was expecting are larger portion of meat and cheese. Jersey Mikes when I went followed to old Subway Cold-Cut combo strategy of fill-em-up on bread and lettuce, with a much smaller portion of meat and cheese but to their credit the meat and cheese they give you is better than what you see at most sub shops. They did not have fresh lemon for their ice tea. ( Thankfully they do have brewed tea ). Melbourne is not New Jersey and in the South restaurant trade journals show Ice Tea outsells Coke in just about every restaurant where both are offered. When I asked if they had fresh lemons somewhere in the back the staffer suggested I used the fountain drink lemonade. Ever look at the fine print on a soda fountain lemonade dispenser, you guessed it 0% juice. For me no fresh lemons and small meat portions means there are better options. 2.5 Stars. read more

Love the Chipotle Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Hot sandwiches take a little bit of time to make, but they grill it all up and fresh slice your meats. Not a lot of "Salad" choices to put on your sandwich, but they haven't ever let me down. read more

I love jersey mikes. You can't beat a place that slices the meat on front of you in order to make your sandwich. So fresh and tasty!

I eat here a few times a week and love it. I get a giant and eat half now and the other half later. Much better than a subway style place and the meats and cheese are much much better. I will continue to eat here during my stay. read more

Jersey Mike's is the closest thing to a Philly Cheesesteak in Melbourne. It is a solid Philly Cheesesteak, but it could use more meat in it. If they would add cheese fries to menu I would be set! The hoagies are good and I enjoy them as well, in particular the roast beef. read more

Delicious subs just like I remember them from growing up in New Jersey. Love the Sub Club and my husband's favorite is the Italian. I always get them done up Mike's Way with lots of "juice" oil/vinegar/herbs. Their hot subs are fantastic too - the Chicken Kahuna is yummy!!!!! Bread is always soft and fresh and they cut the cold cuts to order/ Service is always quick and pleasant. They know you by first name at the Vero Beach and Palm Bay location. read more
