I'm not sure if it's still Covid season or if we have moved on to Riot season, but nonetheless, I have to get out of the damn house! I am not trying to make this a political post, just an observational one on where we have been as a country for the past year and a half or so. Returning from my Federally and Locally imposed exile, I was saddened to see all the boarded-up eateries and not just because I love to eat, but rather for the loss of personal dreams and accomplishments that each boarded up building represented. With that heavily on my mind, I thought the best place to get back on the mound would be a chain that survived the National Shut Down. Located on the corner of Jordan Blass Dr. and Wickham Rd. this Zaxby's is right across the street from the Pineda Landings Shopping Plaza in the Suntree area of Melbourne, Fl. While I found the dining area to be spotlessly clean albeit desolate, the ability my server Rachel demonstrated in carrying out her duties was severely impaired, and she might do better on the fryer than serving customers. After a few moments of excruciating frustration, I was finally able to get my order across and sat back to wait for my Chicken Strip Basket to arrive. With the employees masked and the immaculate condition of the dining area, it was clear to me they are taking their patrons health, as well as their employees seriously in this Pandemic Reality in which we find ourselves. It wasn't too long before Rachel returned with my offerings. As one can see by the pictures, the chicken was perfectly fried. It was an eye-catching golden brown on the outside and oh so tender and juicy on the inside. I must also add that their sauce is unfreakinreal good!! I usually come during the day (right after lunch) and everything would be fresh and hot so hot I would have to wait to eat.... but tonight...... it was cold and hard and I can tell that the fries were recooked the tenders were so small like for kids meal or needed to be used for a salad .... def won't b going there for dinner anymore.... you can definitely tell the difference when the manager is there vs not there..... read more

This was my first time ever at a Zaxbys. I understood going in that it was a fast food type of establishment with a little of variety on their menu. This was the closest location which was still 30 minutes away. I personally liked that they offered salads (which I ordered and it was wonderful). The cheddar bites were also great. But why if it was so good did I only give 3 stars? Because it is fast food. Let's start with the person who just stands at the counter and stares at you. I am not sure if she was asleep standing up with her eyes open or waiting for some time of stimulation to respond. Was this an AI employee? I had put in my mobile order and after the time passed on the app that said my order would be ready I asked about it and was again given that blank stare. Someone did bring it out eventually. Handed me the bag with the drinks. Except one of the drinks was the peach tea. Which apparently they store behind the counter but don't tell you? So I had to go back up and ask for what I ordered. Ok. I sat down and noticed hmmm my cheese bites aren't in my bag. They did make them for me and they were fresh but it took the time to cook them. Where did the original order go? Finally I had everything and was able to sit down and eat. The sandwiches are better then a spicy kfc sandwich for sure. Salads were nice large portions and very good. But it is hampered by typical fast food problems. Mainly lack of quality control in an effort to get things out fast. Clean, COVID compliant, Friendly Staff and Open for business This location is off the East side of Wickham road just north of the Pineda Causeway. It is at an intersection so is easy to get to from any direction. There is parking around the building and, since it an out-parcel in a larger shopping center, there is plenty of parking available. It has a drive-through that frequently wraps around the building due to this location's popularity. Inside, all staff are wearing masks, there are dots on the floor and the tables are moved to allow maximum distance (except the booths). The staff was very friendly. The tables and floors looked clean. The food came out quickly (we had a salad) and was excellent. If you need to go out to eat, this would be a good choice. Enjoy read more

When I went up to the counter I saw someone named Josh on his cellphone and I was helped by a women named Neave, she gave me horrible attitude and was just straight up rude to me, after my order she walked away and then I was talking to someone named Q but his full name was Quinten, and my friend was helped by an amazing person named Julian. Neave and Josh ruined my mood but after talking to Q and Julian it lightened up my night. I saw Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings (I will shorthand to just Zaxby's for the rest of this review) on the way home from another restaurant, Fiesta Azteca in Suntree. Maybe it was the chicken logo but I really wanted to eat there. I am so glad I did because this is one of the better fast food chicken restaurants I have eaten. I went to this restaurant after hanging out a bit at Brevard Zoo with my friend Patrick. We had to wait two and a half hours for the canoes so we drove out to eat lunch. First and foremost, Zaxby's is not hard to spot. It is on the Eastside of Wickham Rd. just north of Pineda Cswy and looks like a barn. If that doesn't stand out, the chicken logo will under the big letters spelling "Zaxby's." Interior-wise, the place seems brand new. Don't know how long they've been open but the place is really clean and the furniture is fairly new. We then ordered our food which is mostly chicken dishes (obviously). I ordered the spicy chicken tenders sandwhich, Patrick ordered the boneless spicy chicken tenders. We also got two sides: spicy breaded mushrooms and cheese bites (curds). Everything we ate was delicious. Even the crinkle fries (though said fries are not as good as Culver's). What stood out the most about Zaxby's was the price. A lot of the meals were averaging around $5 to $8. That is a deal when you take into account the quality of the food compared to other places. Ultimately, I would recommend this place to anyone. For the more healthy-orientated, they have salads known as "Zalads" which look good too. Would also make an excellent place to eat in case you don't want to spend the high prices at Brevard Zoo. read more

So stopped by here after watching this location being built for months. I have never ate at zaxbys before and to be honest I was not impressed at all. First of all they dont have a fried chicken breast sandwich option. Yeah everybody else does but they have gone rouge here. Not a good thing in my opinion. A southern chicken sandwich is a generous piece of chicken breast, deep fried to crispy perfection and served with pickles and mayonnaise. What I had was a fried chicken finger sandwich with a sad piece of lettuce and their special sauce. I ordered the sauce on the side but opted for mayonnaise in the end. The chicken finger sandwich is crispy but well over seasoned which kills the flavor of the chicken itself. The absense of pickles is puzzling to me. The bun is of a nice quality and can handle a big bite. Unfortunately the chicken fingers fall out of the sandwich with just about every bite. A total mess!!!! My suggestion here, stick to the chicken fingers. The sandwich is a total fail. If they could customize the cajun club sandwich to your liking that might be nice. read more

We found this by mistake while doing a day travel around Florida. Zaxby's takes buffalo chicken to fast food with salads, tenders, and more. Several unique sauces from BBQ to Super Hot exist. Most have unique names like Tongue Twister. The salad I ordered , Blue, was nice sized and had plenty of chicken and blue cheese chunks. They use French onions for the crisp vs a crouton. The sandwich my wife had was naked (no sauce) but had plenty of chicken and tomato and lettuce. Kids had boneless wings and each came with crinkle fries and Texas toast. Toast is plain white bread buttered and toasted, and slightly amiss as not needed. The pricing is expensive for fast food. Average entree in 8-9 dollars including salads. It ran around 35 bucks with tax for a meal with two adults and two kids. Service was good and food hot and fresh. read more

Zaxby's For Delicious Chicken & Fresh Salads Our grandson works at this Zaxby's after school and now for the summer months to make money for college in the fall and gas for his car. One recent Friday, my husband and I were in the neighborhood and decided to try the eatery. Our grandson said that the food here was great. How many fast food workers say that about where they work? We arrived at 1:15 pm. There were parking places available in Zaxby's parking lot and in the larger shopping mall parking lot behind Zaxby's. There is a drive-thru window, also. The entrance seemed too small for the stand-alone restaurant - more like a side entrance. I was surprised at this. Once inside, though, the place seemed open and spacious. The dining area looked clean and neat. Workers regularly swept the floor and wiped down the tables as needed. The décor was inviting and airy; tall windows brought in plenty of light. The view to the outside, though, was not too great. . It took us awhile to decide what to order since it was our first visit to a Zaxby's. Luckily, just to the left of the ordering counter were Take-In/Take-Out Menus so we grabbed a couple to consult. It was easier than trying to decipher the printed menu with multiple photos posted above the ordering counter. The menu lists the calorie count for everything sold. There was no line at the counter. There seemed to be enough employees to handle the lunch crowd. They were all friendly, helpful, polite and patient. Since our grandson said that the wings were good here, we decided on the Traditional Buffalo Wings Meal. The meal consisted of five Buffalo Wings, Crinkle Fries, Ranch Sauce, and Texas Toast, in addition to a 22 0z. Soda. The worker at the counter asked what kind of dipping sauce we wanted and I replied, "Just give us something mild;" she did. Later I found out that the name of our dipping sauce was Wimpy - how funny! Now I will know what to ask for next time. I do not mind the label wimpy. Spicy & I do not get along. While we waited for our order to be prepared, I took the empty 22 oz. Styrofoam cups to the soda machines; there were 17 choices of soda (WOW) plus Iced Teas. I was I happy to find Diet Caffeine Free Coke as a choice. I chose a comfortable booth by one of the tall windows. Before I had a chance to take a good look around the eatery, they called out our number indicating that our meals were ready. Our thick large-portioned Texas Toast was perfectly toasted. The chicken wings, although messy to eat with the sauce on them were scrumptious and the crinkle fries were crispy and tasty. Everything was still warm from the oven. The celery sticks made the meal seem a little healthy. The Ranch Dipping Sauce was mild also. For those of you who enjoy more spice and heat with your meals, this is your kind of place. Zaxby's Signature Sauces include Tongue Torch**, Nuclear*** & Insane***** among milder ones for the rest of us such as Original**, Hot Honey Mustard*, Sweet & Spicy*, Teriyaki, Barbecue and my Wimpy*. What else besides chicken does Zaxby's offer - not much? They do have huge salads but they come with chicken. For sides they offer Chips, Onion Rings, Fried White Cheddar Bites and Spicy Fried Mushroom. Desserts are Shakes, Fresh Cookies and Chocolate Brownie. I will be back for sure. Once I had the chance to study the menu a bit, I noticed the Grilled Chicken Sandwich served with Crinkle Fries & a 22-oz. drink. We've never had a bad experience here. The place is always clean and our orders are always right. Food always comes out fresh and crispy. We enjoy their cheddar bites, chicken fingers plates, and their hot mustard sauced wings. We have tried Raising Cane's which is comparable to Zaxby's but my favorite thing about Zax is their sauce. My daughter just got home from college for the holiday and wanted to go to Zaxby's tonight. We drove down to the one on Wickham Road in Suntree area. I've noticed before that the portion sizes vary greatly, and they are supposed to be served not only by number, but there is a minimum weight to your order. In other words, three chicken fingers should weigh so many grams and if not, they give you an extra small piece. Tonight we ordered three big Zac Snack meals, one with no seasoning on the fries. The meals came out with no bread and all three orders had an excessive amount of fries a small amount of chicken and seasoning on all the fries. I asked my husband to go back up and get the pieces of toast that come with the meals and also to ask for my fries without seasoning. My daughter commented that her three pieces of chicken looked more like three chicken nuggets instead. I took a photo of my three pieces of chicken on my plate while I was awaiting my fries. This is supposed to be three entire chicken fingers. My daughters chicken portions were even smaller than mine. I spoke to the girl in the restaurant, and she acknowledged that there is a weight limit as well that if a piece of chicken is too small, they're supposed to give you more. Very disappointed -it's going to be a long time before I go back. I prefer Cane's chicken anyway, which is a knock off of Zaxby's but better quality. First thing that I noticed is that the place is very clean. The staff are well trained and efficient. The food came fairly quickly. The food was the big surprise. The fried chicken on my sandwich was crisp, juicy, perfectly cooked & not at all greasy; not an easy trick to pull off. My companion ordered their version of a Cobb salad with grilled chicken.
