On Dec 30,2023 I had hired Jersey Tree Care who cut down few trees in my backyard. They came with chipper truck and smaller tree picking vehicle and unbolted my two backyard entrance doors for their movement. The doors were not put back and are still lying on the floor and the lawn is ruined badly. Since January , I have been calling them and after promise to take care and excuses one after another, I am exhausted and want to warn others to do no business with them. 6/30/2020 Worst service. It took 3 attempts to send the correct quote price. Which I let slide, we are all human and make mistakes, clearly there was a communication issue within the company. They schedule me for a date and the crew never showed up on the appointed date and no one called or texted. I tried calling 4 times. Each time they said they would get back to me with a time but never called back. I finally talk to John, the original representative. He responded with, "this is not like a doctors office, it's just cutting a tree." He mentioned that if they are on a job and a neighbor wants their tree done, we are not going to say no. If you want to get a good deal/price on getting trees cut down and chipped up, these folks are a good option. HOWEVER, the old adage rings true: you only get what you pay for. That is all you will get with this company. So it's easy to see why their prices are so competitive. They DO NOT finish their work and they justify it in their minds by saying that you got such a good price and some work was done. Months ago, they cut down a bunch of trees for me and three more homes on our block- which was one service. Then, we also paid them to cut the fallen trees up into chips and spread out the chips to make the area look decent. The result was them leaving the wood chips in heaping, sloppy piles all over the place. They left their equipment in our back for about one month, with tread marks all over place. Then, one day, they took the equipment and just left. Never came back. This was over three months ago and it's now June 2019. The worst part: everyone on the block who used them has been texting and calling to ask and sometimes implore them to come back to please finish the job. The end result has been nothing short of some sort of impish, childlike game where they say "next week for sure" or "in a few days", but they never come. Three months of this sadistic dance. It's obvious they are never coming back to finish their "work" and patch up the damage their equipment did to our grounds in the back. There are huge, sloppy track marks all over the back yard area. Looks like a war zone. Now we have to pay yet another service to come and clean up their mess. My advice: pay the higher cost with anyone else to have a complete job done. These guys will almost certainly screw you, and it really does seem like they enjoy doing this. All a big joke and game to them. ************************ADDITIONAL INFORMATION***************************** This is additional information in response to the owner's rather mindless and blame deflecting response to my original post: First, if someone has finished 99% of anything, normally they don't have half a block full of people calling and texting them, begging them to come and finish the job. So the erroneous use of statistics coupled with the sob story is disingenuous, at its very best. Second, it appears as though the owner is confused, has a poor memory, or just isn't very good at accounting. Here are the payment facts: Feb 11, 2019 - $500 paid March 24, 2019 - $450 paid April 1, 2019 - $450 paid May 7, 2019 - $450 paid By May 7th, a total of $1,850 had already been paid, with subsequent payments still scheduled for the future. However, by May 7th, after months of being told the work would be finished but never seeing them show up again, I started to realize we were all being fleeced. As a result of this realization, I repealed the April 1st and May 7th charges to send a very necessary signal to the owner, leaving $900 still paid. Like I said, the owner appears confused, has a poor memory, or trouble understanding basic accounting. Or possibly all three. If the work were ever completed before we have to hire someone else to clean up the mess, I would gladly release all funds. But I wouldn't bet on that happening given what everyone on our block has experienced. Third, whether or not someone is paying in installments or upfront with cash, checks, Bitcoin, sea shells or whatever is completely irrelevant to a job simply not being completed, with a mess being left behind for months- leaving 3 or 4 separate households having to beg for completion. Any rational, thinking person reading this would probably agree that it was a great thing I didn't pay upfront since the job ending up being left unfinished. My poor neighbors did pay upfront and now they're S.O.L. for all of the funds. Lastly, I apologize to the readers because I got the timeline wrong. This has been going on for 5 months, not 3 months. My bad. Considering the time it took the owner to write such a lengthy, verbose, fact omitting response to my review, I think if that time were spent actually finishing the job then I would never have had to write this in the first place. read more

Trespassed and Destroyed Our Property While Cutting Neighbor's Trees March 23: While we were on vacation, Jersey Tree Care came to cut down our neighbor's trees. They: Entered our property without our permission. Took down & broke our fence to bring heavy equipment into our yard. Left tire tracks in our yard. Ruined our lawn. Ripped out my hydrangeas and left them on the ground. Cut our completely alive cherry blossom tree in half to access the neighbor's trees. Dented our shed. Left the yard full of branches and sawdust. Owner, Kevin Doyle, told our neighbor he'd come to inspect the damage and reseed the lawn on March 29. No show. March 28: We file a police report. March 29: I call Kevin Doyle, who says he'll come at 3pm to inspect the damage. Kevin wasn't aware of the damage because he drops off his workers in the morning and leaves them unsupervised. No show. March 30: Texted Kevin Doyle the police report. He immediately came over. I showed him the damage. He said he'd come back April 2nd to plant the hydrangeas and reseed the lawn. He took a call from his workers in the middle of our conversation. As mentioned in other reviews, he yelled at them and called them idiots. After he hung up, I made him replant my hydrangeas. My wife came out to yell at him and he said this is pretty minor compared to all the COVID deaths. April 2: No show. April 5: I see Kevin Doyle removing his equipment from neighbor's yard. Told neighbor he'll come April 6 to reseed. April 6: No show. I text Kevin. Kevin says he'll come at 8am April 7. April 7: No show. I text Kevin. Kevin says he'll come at 11am. Shows up at 12, gives me $120 for the shed and reseeds the lawn. April 10: Kevin says he damaged the fence grinding roots & they'll replace the fence Tuesday, April 11. April 24: Kevin says they'll replace fence Monday. April 26: No show. Kevin says he'll come Tuesday. April 27: No show. Kevin says he'll come AFTER COURT. Says he didn't know the fence needed to be re-buried and is not convinced they broke the fence. Will come tomorrow. April 28: No show. Had to replace the shed because couldn't order replacement panel. The hole in the roof was leaking on my tools. One month later, I'm still dealing with this. read more

We needed to trim the tree branches hanging over our backyard from the neighbour's trees. We called Kevin on Saturday around noon and he came over the same day at 3:00 pm and provided us with very reasonable estimate for the job. The trimming was scheduled the following Tuesday in the morning, however it had to be moved to the afternoon the same day due to the emergency work they were doing. The team showed up as promised and completed the job quickly and efficiently. After the trimming all the branches were removed from the backyard and processed in a "chipper" truck. We are very much satisfied with the work completed by the team and highly recommend this business. read more

Did a tree removal, not professional they ruined our yard and trash with their water bottle. Hey did not clean well after chopping tree. Took 3 weeks to get the huge log that was chopped. So the log was sitting in our lawn for that long. They put their truck on top of our grass just to chop manually the big log that they said someone will pick it up but never pick it up. This is the second time I called Kevin to help removing one tree and trim the other. First time was at my house, this time is the rental property. Kevin responded the call and went over the property with me quickly. He suggested not to remove the second tree that is still strong and keep the shade in the back yard to increase the property value. Which I agree and surprised he does not want my money :) They came as scheduled and took the whole day to remove one half dead tree and trim the second tree cleanly. I scheduled a tree trimming back in August for Monday, September 24th at 7:30 am. So I took the day off and waited for them. By 9:30 when they hadn't arrived I called my contact, Kevin. He told me they couldn't come because of some weather related situation and that they would be there either Tuesday morning or Wednesday morning. Those times came and went and they were a no show. I call on Wednesday evening and they said they'd be there on Saturday. So on Saturday morning I text him and asked at what time I could expect his crew, he said 2 pm unless the morning job took longer. They never showed up. I cancelled our work order. For full context, here's the story: Part of my tree fell into the neighbors yard. They asked me to remove it. By New Jersey law, my homeowners insurance won't cover trees that have fallen into a neighbors yard. The neighbor is required to remove this. Homeowners should know this. As a courtesy, I stated that I called a tree service to come and evaluate the situation. I even got a quote for servicing the tree from another tree company. Without my consent, Kevin came onto my property and trimmed my tree, leaving trash all over my yard, damaging my fence, and causing emotional distress to my family. The photos and videos serve as evidence, that this tree was hanging over my neighbors property. The branch fell in their yard because it was on their side of the fence. In the photo it's obvious they are pulling the log onto my property instead of removing it from where it would have fallen. As a result I have installed motion detectors and security cameras to prevent this kind of illegal activity from happening at my home. I booked an appointment on their website for an appointment the same day, and I received a confirmation email for the job. When they didn't show up, I called and was told that they don't always receive the notifications for same day jobs. I said that was fine, and we set an appointment for the next morning at 8:30am instead. They never showed up for that one either. When I called at 9am to find out if they were coming, I was told that they had some truck issues the night before and that he'd call me back in a few minutes to let me know when they could come by. Prices much more reasonable than some other estimates I got at the time. And now I have them come out periodically for maintenance. Kevin is great guy with clear advice & easy to work with. I was given an appointment for a Saturday, at noon, no one ever showed up or called me to reschedule. I kept calling the office with no answer. I called Jon the owner and he gave a quote over the phone and rescheduled for Monday. Monday came and went with no response until I contacted him at 330pm recieved a message stating "tonight is on time". Reached out to Jersey Tree Care via yelp since the reviews were so great. I received a message back within the timeframe noted on yelp. I explained our tree issue and sent him our address and phone number. He called me that afternoon and requested authorization to enter our yard to take a look. We discussed the work and he prepared the quote while I was on the phone. I was very impressed with his ability to create and send a quote while onsite. He said he received a cancellation for tomorrow and if we wanted him to do it, he could. We of course signed up since we had some work to do once the tree was down. Due to the storms, we still had another week to wait for another contractor. The team showed up around 2pm, protected the driveway and grass and pulled the crane right up. The guys worked non stop, were very cautious of our and our neighbors property. They were cleaned up and out of here by 6pm (I think!). The wood was left for the wood guy to pick up which he did a couple days after. The last thing is the stump to grind and take away, but we were delayed due to weather. read more
