Totally overpriced for minimal work done that took weeks of people pushing play sand around the pavers in my driveway instead of the polymeric sand I requested. After the first rain, the play sand washed away and weeds grew between the pavers. When confronted about the play sand used, they denied it and I told them that was a lie because I saw the bags in the back of their truck - that had an Illinois license plate. I paid for a pallet of pavers that they unloaded in the middle of my driveway so I had problems parking and when they were done using about 20 of them (that I paid for) the rest on the pallet disappeared. I thought they stacked them on the side of the house, but the stole them instead. Replacing the concrete that was missing between the stones that support my front steps and porch looks like my grandson did it. My father was an exceptional stone mason so I know shoddy work when I see it. When I started pointing things out that I didn't like and considered subpar, they didn't like that. Needless to say, our last conversation when they were looking for payment was very colorful on my end and very heated as well. The promise of coming back in 3 months on the "contract" was total BS! We hired Falletta Masonry to replace our front porch, build a planter box in front of it and widen…read moreand blacktop our driveway.  We first contacted them in March.  Anthony came to look at the job on April 1.   On April 7, we received the quote and accepted it, sending him a $200 deposit to put our job on his schedule.  We asked for an approximate start date and were told about the second week in May.    He told us that someone would come out in a few days to mark off the location of utilities.    On May 20, we texted him for an update and were told "next week".  That never happened.   After that, we heard nothing.  And our utilities never got marked, leading us to realize that we were nowhere near getting the work done.  On June 9, we emailed him asking to return our deposit so we could find someone else.  He contacted us right away, telling us they would start "at the end of next week".  We had plans to go to the shore,  returning on Tuesday morning and decided to that "the end of next week" meant Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.  At 9 PM on Sunday evening while at the shoree, we got a call from him that they were starting early Monday morning.  We cut our time short and packed up the next morning in order to be home by noon.  On the way home, he texted to ask what color block we chose for the porch and planter.  We had told him at our initial meeting and the brochure was at home, so I could not look it up.  He sent photos of a finished job, asking "is this it?".  It looked like it so we told him we thought so.  The porch, planter and prep for the driveway were completed all in one day.   A week later, they came back to blacktop the driveway.  All the work is done nicely except the planter. We immediately noticed one block with a chipped corner right in a very visible spot. We could not understand why the mason did not at least turn that block another way to make the chip not seen, like place it on the inside of the planter box.  But since then, we've noticed many blocks with nicks on the edges or corners chipped off.  I can't help but wonder if we got blocks from a reject pile. We wish we had just walked away back when we were strung along over scheduling.  In all ways, we felt like our job was too small for his best effort.
