The food is always reliably great here. I actually had my first date at a Ghassans here in town many many years ago....a million years ago and the food has always been consistently good. The restaurant is always clean and the employees are nice and welcoming. It's a good staple restaurant here in Greensboro close to Cone hospital. read more

This was my second time (this week ) ordering from Ghassan's on E. Cornwallis, although I have ordered takeout in person before (last year at some time). The location itself is pretty unassuming. It's in a corner lot, and nothing spectacular. I am not sure if it is the original location or not, but they have two others in the city. This one looks more like a plain store with some chairs and tables, and a few bench-style tables (like a fast food place). It's pretty sterile-looking to me. When I first visited, I wasn't impressed, but then I tried their falafel, and I was fine with it. The pictures I am sharing are of food from my most recent DoorDash order, but the way the food is packaged and prepared has been no different whether I pick it up or get it delivered. Perhaps that is my disappointment. The food is delicious. It usually comes freshly prepared. If it is not "piping hot" by the time it is delivered to me, it is at least still warm. Nothing is stale or tastes like it has been sitting. I love Mediterranean food, and the Falafel platter, fried cauliflower, and spicy hummus with cucumbers are my usual. I don't eat meat, so I appreciate that they also offer a meat substitute in the Beyond brand in most of their meat dishes. Despite my love of their food, the way they package the food for takeout and delivery leaves much to be desired. My last delivery I attempted to call ahead and remind them what to put in my bag, and they still forgot the utensils and napkins, and my bag was still an oily mess, with food particles on the outside of the containers. In addition, since they use paper/recyclable containers, everything soaks through, so expect a sloppy fridge shelf if you put your take-out container in your refrigerator overnight. Surprise! I had oil from fried cauliflower plus dressing from a salad to clean up from dinner the night before, all before I enjoyed my leftovers. Yeah... Went in today for a casual business lunch and the food is great as always. They have really fast service and everyone's always really friendly. I enjoy going there and I love taking People there for lunch. Their Taziki sauce is fantastic and the kebabs are good, but I prefer the pita chicken. You can't go wrong with a his place! read more

First time trying this spot. So glad I found it! Mediterranean is my favorite and Ghassan's provided super fresh, delicious food! The dining area is very casual. Lots of people that seemed to be regulars stopping in for lunch while we were there. The young lady taking orders was very pleasant. I had the Mezza Plate which consists of falafel, tabouli, labne, muhannara, hummus and pita bread. It was so delicious! My daughter had the Veggie rice bowl and loved it! I use to eat here twice sometimes three times a week! Now it is like once a month. Each time I go my food is not completely cooked mainly the fries. If they are really busy they seem to just flash fry them. They use to be crispy and cooked all the way through. They get my order wrong on occasion. And order the same four meals every time I go. Other family stopped ordering certain items because of the hit and miss of the order will be good. Service is so so at best. Cashier had gloves on then went to help fix food with the same gloves. My first time at Ghassan's made my entire day, maybe even week?! I had never tried this place because I have my go-to Greek places and I didn't deviate too much, until now. This building is a bit older and the inside ambiance is not much to look at, but the food speaks for itself. You order at the front of the restaurant and are given an order number on your receipt. Lunch time is pretty busy but they do a great job of getting the food out of the kitchen. I LOVE their bowls. It has all of the delicious things, like hummus, tzaziki, red cabbage, and more that you want with a platter but would have to order extra sides usually. Their harissa chicken was delicious and flavorful, as well as the Kafta, but my favorite is the falafel. Some of the best I've ever had. The prices are amazing and the food is solid. Ordered the Veggie rice bowl today and added harissa chicken. The bowl was colorful and full of flavor and I love how I was able to have a little sample of dips and sides. I rarely hand out 5 stars! The Cornwalis location deserves at least 6! They are killing it. I placed a pretty big lunch order using the website and everything down to the extra sauces was perfect and ready to go when I arrived. The staff was pleasant and was maintaining great control over the folks who were waiting for orders and calling them in while I picked up. We had the Falafel bites with tahini sauce . Two kids meals and two Chicken Kabob plates. The salads on each plates were fresh and green, the chicken as always was coooed to perfection. I cannot wait to eat the leftovers for dinner . My experience as a customer was TRASH just like their service! If you ask me the entire staff should be fired! I noticed the selective process in who they decided to speak to. Every white person that entered was greeted with kindness and warmth meanwhile the melanin people were mishandled. They didn't even acknowledge them. I sat in the line waiting to order for 5 minutes before I had to say something. I watched effortlessly as the employees ignored me on purpose. They walked by a few times as I waited and didn't say anything! By then I was angry because no one should have to feel this way especially when I'm spending money. Do they feel threatened, insecure, jealous or all. Those were my feelings. The girl took my order with an attitude while she starred me up and down as if she had something to say but didn't. I was there on Saturday night and had to wait 23 minutes on 4 meals. There was nobody else in line but me. The wait time was unacceptable!!! There was 5 people working and I still had to wait. The workers spent 20mins dancing and talking. I had to hear a conversation about the customers not wanting to take food because the cook was coughing and sneezing. Disgusting with covid infections still high!!! I wish I could've got a refund. Everybody on that shift needs to be FIRED and the manager needs to pay more attention to their careless staff. I always enjoy a Ghassan's salad. This location is closest to my home so it's usually the one I go to. I've been eating here for years and I always get the same thing every time, the double chicken skewer with double salad, I just can't get away from it. The salad is pretty simple, a pile of lettuce topped with tomatoes & feta cheese with their house made dressing, which is really good, basically oil & vinegar with a bunch of herbs & spices in it, it's also sold in bottles to take home. The chunks of chicken on a stick are always nice and tender and the warm pita bread that comes with it is just great. The only other thing I've tried from Ghassan's is their steak & cheese sub which is not a favorite version of mine. The steak is like thin shavings of beef chopped kinda fine, finer than most. Very dry the couple of times I had the sammich and doused with way too much oil & vinegar, so much the bread was covered in oil on the outside & just a drippy slick mess. I just stick with my ol' stand by, double chicken skewer/double salad. 5 star chicken skewer/salad + 3 star steak & cheese = my 2 cents read more

This is the best, most consistent of the 3 locations of this restaurant. The staff situation here seems fluid, but the service is always good - it usually only takes a couple of minutes from the time you place your order until you get it. There is no wait service here, you go through a line in front of the grill & prep area, and move down the line to the cashier & pick up area. Both the Beef and the Chicken Kabob Platters are nice, or you can get a Mixed Platter, with one of each. The platter comes with fries, pita bread, and salad - or you can get double salad in place of fries. The fries are ok, not great. The salad with their home made dressing is the best choice. I'm not wild about their sandwiches other than the Chicken Salad and the Tuna Subs. The Chicken Salad is especially good - it is nice and spicy. The Hummus is also very good. The Gyro here is just thin slices of dry meat with very little flavor, and the tzatziki is too mild to help much. The Italian Sub contains a kind of smoked ham that I don't care for, and the Steak and Cheese suffers the same fate as the Gyro. This place is a little pricier than it used to be because they've reduced their portion sizes, especially in the sandwiches - the Chicken Salad Sub is down a good 20% over a year ago.
