Falafel Platter (4 pcs) with Fried Cauliflower
    Kiesha S.

This was my second time (this week ) ordering from Ghassan's on E. Cornwallis, although I have ordered takeout in person before (last year at some time). The location itself is pretty unassuming. It's in a corner lot, and nothing spectacular. I am not sure if it is the original location or not, but they have two others in the city. This one looks more like a plain store with some chairs and tables, and a few bench-style tables (like a fast food place). It's pretty sterile-looking to me. When I first visited, I wasn't impressed, but then I tried their falafel, and I was fine with it. The pictures I am sharing are of food from my most recent DoorDash order, but the way the food is packaged and prepared has been no different whether I pick it up or get it delivered. Perhaps that is my disappointment. The food is delicious. It usually comes freshly prepared. If it is not "piping hot" by the time it is delivered to me, it is at least still warm. Nothing is stale or tastes like it has been sitting. I love Mediterranean food, and the Falafel platter, fried cauliflower, and spicy hummus with cucumbers are my usual. I don't eat meat, so I appreciate that they also offer a meat substitute in the Beyond brand in most of their meat dishes. Despite my love of their food, the way they package the food for takeout and delivery leaves much to be desired. My last delivery I attempted to call ahead and remind them what to put in my bag, and they still forgot the utensils and napkins, and my bag was still an oily mess, with food particles on the outside of the containers. In addition, since they use paper/recyclable containers, everything soaks through, so expect a sloppy fridge shelf if you put your take-out container in your refrigerator overnight. Surprise! I had oil from fried cauliflower plus dressing from a salad to clean up from dinner the night before, all before I enjoyed my leftovers. Yeah... So, now I have to decide if the frustration of cleaning up before I eat, is worth the flavors I get at Ghassan's or not. It's quite the conundrum. ‍

First time trying this spot. So glad I found it! Mediterranean is my favorite and Ghassan's provided super fresh, delicious food! The dining area is very casual. Lots of people that seemed to be regulars stopping in for lunch while we were there. The young lady taking orders was very pleasant. I had the Mezza Plate which consists of falafel, tabouli, labne, muhannara, hummus and pita bread. It was so delicious! My daughter had the Veggie rice bowl and loved it! I don't live in Greensboro but when I'm out that way, I'll definitely be going back for more!

Food was great, and the service is fast! The place could be a bit cleaner as most of the tables needed to be wiped off. 9/10 Would definitely recommend and I plan to go back!

Delicious food, made fast and easy! Love this place, it's definitely one of my go-to lunch spots. Their chicken shawarma is delicious as well as their rice. Must try!

My first time at Ghassan's made my entire day, maybe even week?! I had never tried this place because I have my go-to Greek places and I didn't deviate too much, until now. This building is a bit older and the inside ambiance is not much to look at, but the food speaks for itself. You order at the front of the restaurant and are given an order number on your receipt. Lunch time is pretty busy but they do a great job of getting the food out of the kitchen. I LOVE their bowls. It has all of the delicious things, like hummus, tzaziki, red cabbage, and more that you want with a platter but would have to order extra sides usually. Their harissa chicken was delicious and flavorful, as well as the Kafta, but my favorite is the falafel. Some of the best I've ever had. The prices are amazing and the food is solid. I love that this place is near my new office location because I'll be coming for a visit as much as I can.

Food is hot and fresh. Made to order. Quick and easy. I usually go for dinner or late lunch so it's not a long wait during this time. Because they are jumping for the lunch hour rush. No complaints. Prices are very reasonable.

Ordered the Veggie rice bowl today and added harissa chicken. The bowl was colorful and full of flavor and I love how I was able to have a little sample of dips and sides. I especially enjoyed the muhammara dip, the cauliflower and the purple cabbage. Not pictured is a side of za'atar fries which were delicious, especially dipped in tzatziki. Also, Jenn was awesome and very welcoming and attentive!

In Greensboro, a city whose downtown once had a "hamburger square" of burger joints and related…read moreentertainment, it seems appropriate, whenever possible, to try a cheeseburger. Most have been underwhelming, or inconsistent at best. Stumble Stilskins isn't bad. The burger is the smash burger style -- not always ideal, but pretty good when done nicely, as it is here. "Crispy on the edges" it specifies in the menu, and that is accurate. The meat is also well-seasoned and not dry. Excellent! The cheese is the proper yellow American. The fries, while not hand-cut (which is fine, in this case), have been fried nicely, in fresh tasting oil, and seasoned generously. So much attention to seasoning is really appreciated. The fatal flaw of the burger is that it is apparently served on a "brioche bun." The bun is large, agonizingly dense, and weirdly sweet. In particular, when it's doing battle with the slim carefully structured and seasoned smash burger patties, the heaviness and sweetness are extremely oppressively overpowering. Now, you may say, why didn't I just not eat the bun (which would've been good for the flavor, texture, and my caloric intake)? Well, if you are, as I apparently am, genetically 2/3 sheepdog, you have no choice but to rapidly eat everything in front of you. The atmosphere isn't bad. There's not much to it -- classic bar, but neat and tidy, with TVs and little tables here and there. Not really any nooks and crannies, even in the dimmer half of the restaurant. It would probably be even better if you were drunk. The bathroom was notably clean -- though I can't imagine how chaotic it gets when the place is crowded, since it's a single-occupancy. If you're seated at one of the high top tables, be prepared to be uncomfortably close to the mustachioed open mouth of what I think is Danny McBride.

THAT PATIO...WOW!…read more This spot at Revolution Mill is outstanding from top to bottom. The food, the ambiance and the service are stellar. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves as far as the quality of the food and drinks served here. Everything from the apps and drinks, to the steaks and mains were top notch. Perfectly cooked juicy steaks, up there with the best of the best in the area. You won't go wrong with anything off of this menu, and the bartenders know what they're doing with delicious cocktails. In this review, I really want to emphasize the absolutely picture perfect patio they offer. First off, the interior space is large and beautiful. From the main dining room, to the large bar, and even the 2nd floor dining area. And then feast your eyes on the large wrap around patio, with an added separate bar and covered area as well. There are maybe a handful of great patio dining experiences in Greensboro that aren't on a main busy street or facing a parking lot. And those are great, but few and far in between. This patio stands with the best of them. No busy street. No loud parking lot. A raised area with flowing water, lush greenery and even a serene fountain that all surround this wrap around and elevated patio. Just an excellent experience for drinks, food, friends and family, or all of the above. We enjoy bellying up to a bar for drinks and happy hr, we enjoy going to places for a few apps, and we also enjoy tasty food and the whole experience. This has now become one of the top spots in our rotation for happy hr drinks, a few snacks, or for a full dining experience. If you haven't been yet...go. If you've already enjoyed the amazing food in their main dining area or bar...come back and enjoy this lovely patio experience.

I arrived a little early and to decided to have a cocktail while I waited. I went to the empty bar and was totally ignored for approximately 15 minutes, I waited patiently as it was busy, but there was no one else at bar! Someone finally acknowledged me and gave me a menu after I said I just want a cocktail. She gave me the menu and walked away, only to pass by me several times without acknowledging me anymore! I left and went to deck bar and experienced the same treatment. I went to wait for the party to arrive, the hostess asked was it to warm outside, I responded no and explained my experience. He immediately apologized for my experience and told someone about my experience, she did take my drink order and brought it to me. We were a party of 14 and seated, waitress took our appetizer orders which arrived approximately 30-40 minutes later. Again, I will say it was busy, but wait time for appetizers was unacceptable!! The waitress was serving two large parties with no assistance from anyone. Our dinner orders were taken and took a ridiculous amount of time to receive, one guest started a timer after appetizer wait and it took 52 minutes to entrees to be received ! I didn't even eat my meal, I just got it to go. We had to ask for water refills and had to clear our own appetizers plates. I don't blame waitress, I blame management for not giving her help. Needless to say, Kau is definitely a thumbs down for me I will say it's a nice area, but the service we received sucked!!!! Technically I give ZERO STARS and will not recommend to anyone and will not hesitate to share my experience if I hear anyone mention Kau!!

This place is a little different, they encourage ordering a few things and sharing everything. This server helped me order a cocktail with good recommendations and also brought out a small sample of two wines my wife was deciding between. We ordered three snacks, appetizers if you will, and three plates. Each one was a culinary delight! You really have to take your time with each bite and savor all the flavors and how they compliment each other and make everything come together. Our server helped us with our choices for all of these as well. First of all, we ordered a sweet potato funnel cake, a mushroom toast, and garlic bread. Every time we took our first bite of anything we ordered, our eyes rolled in the back of our head and said "Mmmmmm!" For the plates we ordered the polenta, Wagyu flat iron steak, and Seabass. I think the server said in the polenta the onions were cooked for six hours, but no matter what, it was pretty amazing. I never thought I would be so taken by polenta, but it was rich and creamy and flavorful. The Seabass was served with a spoon, and we saw why. There was a sauce that was poured around and it collected underneath the fish. It was a saffron bouillabaisse, wonderful! The last thing we were served was the steak, and they only serve it one way, medium rare, which was perfect for me. By the way, all the plates come out as they are made ready, they don't necessarily come out at once. This ensures that it comes out fresh and hot. This also gave us a chance to savor everything one or two at a time. The server also explains what is in the dish as they bring it out, which is a really nice touch so you know what all is in it. For dessert we split the flourless chocolate cake, which was served with a dab of whipped cream I think, and olive oil ice cream, which I had never heard of before but, like everything else it was amazing! I could have just had that for dessert and been happy. We came on a Wednesday, and they were weren't a lot of people, so it was nice and quiet and somewhat dimly lit for peaceful dinner. I can't say enough about this place, and how much I want to come back!

On a Saturday afternoon, I was in Greensboro and in the mood for some good pretzels and a draft beer, and this hit the spot. Old Town Draught House has a very old bar ambience, without feeling worn out and dated. I love the old dark wood throughout the building. They have a pretty broad draft beer menu, along with normal bar offerings. I was happy to see multiple sour beers on the list, because that's exactly what I was in the mood for. There's no table service, and it is seat yourself, but the bartenders were very attentive, and it was never difficult to place an order at the bar. We ordered a few beers and decided to get deviled eggs and the pretzels as appetizers to share. Food came out very quickly. The pretzels were pretty good, but I've had better elsewhere. Rather than being crispy, they were soft and a bit soggy, but the flavor was great. The beer cheese was on point, although I would've preferred a spicy brown mustard over yellow mustard. The deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown, because it was just a hard-boiled egg cut in half with a little bit of sweet chili peppers and dressing that tasted like 1000 Island on top. When I think of deviled eggs, I anticipate the egg yolks being removed, mixed with a few ingredients, and piped back in. For what was basically two eggs cut in half, the six-dollar price tag was steep. Overall, we had a great experience, although I would likely choose different food options next time. The bar staff were great, the beer offerings nice, and the ambience was a good vibe.

Burgers, wraps, apps, salads, wings, sandwiches, Philly's, even a burrito... you name it. Pretty much everything that comes out of this kitchen is a hit. Today I had the chicken Philly. Yep, the best chicken Philly I've had in a very long time. The classic soft Philly hoagie, chicken that's tender and juicy, peppers and onions full of flavor with the perfect consistency (not too limp, not too raw), all topped with oozing cheese that they're not shy with. I'm salivating just thinking about it as I write this...may have to go get another one tomorrow lol. The housemade chips and dip were perfect with it. Great craft beers, local options, and everything in between round out a perfect pub in the heart of UNCG. This one is definitely in the rotation.
