An unexpected find in Bloorwest village where the restaurants could use more variety. There's already 2 other falafel joints on this strip, but this one stands out. Best value (2 dinner plates for $16, 2 sandwiches for $10) and by far the most toppings for no additional charge. Go over to Ali babas across the street and you'll see what I mean. They even have a sour mango sauce that really balances the flavours. Service is slightly on the slow side as they seem to cook the chicken in batches, which isn't a bad thing if you're looking for fresh. The rice on the other hand was undeniably stale (I'm thinking reheated from lunch?) 4 stars because despite its flaws it's better than 90% of falafel places in the city!

Late supper. Great choices and amounts

These guys are super generous with their portions. The food is also quite tasty. Great for a late night meal. Would be back for sure.

Had the chicken shawarma wrap and really enjoyed it! The owner suggested having rice in it, and it was quite good! You can smell what's been cooking as soon as you walk in... The shawarma roasting, and all the spices... It's lovely. The staff is friendly, and welcoming, and the service is fast. It isn't the kind of place where you'd sit for very long though - more of a place to have a quick bite or get take out. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. Will be back soon.

They had exactly the sort of meal I was in the mood for, which made the decision to order very easy. I went with the Tahini's Special, which comes with a mix of chicken and gyro, as well as hummus, garlic, cabbage, pickles, turnips, rice, and pita bread, and I also "baconized" it by adding a slice of Beef Bacon for an extra dollar. It arrived a while later and was exactly what I was in the mood for. The Beef Bacon didn't quite knock my socks off and the hummus was oddly tasteless, as though they forgot to include lemon or any spices, but otherwise I enjoyed the heck out of my meal. The plentiful chicken and gyro meat was absolutely delicious, while the other components complemented everything really well. The rice tied the whole thing together perfectly. I'm sure we'll be ordering from Tahini's again.

Employees really know their stuff when it comes to the menu and are happy to answer any questions you have. The portions are HUGE. The large shawarma wrap fed 2 people and there was still some leftover. Flavours are really good too. The garlic sauce isn't quite as garlicky as I would like, but still delicious nonetheless. Chicken was very tender. The crisp they give to the wrap is heavenly.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures
