Considering the prices, I felt the amount you received was too small. I don't mind paying more for quality food, but when you're spending a decent amount of money, you expect a more reasonable portion of the main protein. The service was also hit-or-miss. Sometimes it was fine, and other times it left a lot to be desired. Between the inconsistent service and the small portions, we eventually stopped going there. I know I'm not the only one who felt this way, as I've heard similar complaints from others regarding the portion sizes. That said, I want to be fair and mention that I haven't ordered from them in the past two years, so things may have changed since my last visit. The food itself was always flavorful, and I hope they've addressed some of these concerns because the quality of the food was never the issue.

We didn't have to wait long before the food was served. The chicken came off the bone so easily, and it was nicely seasoned as well. The dish came on a large bed of rice and a delicious lentil soup, along with dipping sauce. The price was pretty affordable given the size as well. The place was brightly lit and there was lots of space each time I went. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Ambiance: None.. you order food, wait, they call your # and you eat, when you are done, be courteous and put your plates away on the counter. There's always chaos during busy times, lines of individuals waiting for food so I guess that could be the "ambiance". It is clean place, all tables were quickly cleaned. Service: Fast & efficient, they have vast knowledge of the menu and can provide suggestions. Food: Mantu - my goodness, these little beef filled dumplings were oozing with flavor. The lentils, the sauce & yogurt absolutely delicious. Chicken breast sandwich - the chicken was very flavorful and great portion size wrapped in a soft naan bread. Steak - the steak it self was a bit dry but I guess that is what is the sauce is for. The kabuli rice & salad was tasty pairings with the steak. Chai - Warm, cardamon chai! Perfect end to the meal. I had forgotten about Bamiyan but was thoroughly pleased with the food & chai. Will definitely be visiting again.

I'm visiting Toronto and wasn't sure what I wanted to eat for dinner so I headed to Yelp, read…read morereviews, and chose Palmyra. I'm so glad I did. This is a small, family owned establishment. The family was actually sitting down to dinner at the end of the day when I arrived approximately an hour before close. It was wonderful to see them eating together. I was immediately greeted by one of the employees. He was very friendly and allowed me to take my time. I wanted to try a falafel because I love to try several menu items. He accommodated that and allowed me to order a single falafel patty to try. I was stuck between choosing the Palmyra Platter or the Mixed Shawarma plate because, as I said, I like to try several items. I ended up choosing the mixed shawarma plate and ordered it as is. The falafel was crispy and I could taste the herbs mixed in. The sauce drizzled over the top was the perfect addition. I was so glad I tried it. I was so eager to taste it that I forgot to get a photo. I chose the mixed shawarma plate thinking it would be a more manageable serving for me to finish than the Palmyra platter. I was sorely mistaken. It was easily enough food for at least 2 people. This was well worth the price point. The salad was fresh and crispy with a good variety of vegetables in it. I really enjoyed the vinaigrette they used for it as well; just tangy enough. The chicken and beef were crispy on the outside and tender inside. They had good flavor and were not dry at all. The spicy potatoes were a tad spicy for me but I still ate them. The rice was ok in my opinion. I had enough left over to eat a second time. I will definitely visit here again on a subsequent trip so I can try more of their menu items. Overall this was a good experience for me.

This location in Etobicoke recently opened in the same plaza that I get my Burger King fix. The other night, I felt like shawarma and decided to pay it a visit. This part of the plaza gets busy and there are folks who do not want to park far away. Instead, they clog up the parking lot by waiting outside the front door. I did score a decent parking spot within steps of the front door. I backed in and went inside. You order on the left side of the counter. I was looking at all the menu items and settled on a chicken shawarma wrap. Osmow's has ordering down to a science. On the screen, all topping options appear. You simply say what you want in your wrap (I got turnips, lettuce, tomatoes, and tahini) and you see your wrap in what looks like a panini press. As far as heat goes, I went with mild. I also ordered a Diet Coke in a bottle. Your order total clearly displays on the screen. This place accepts credit and debit cards, as well as cash. I got my wrap and Diet Coke. I sat down. There were plenty of seats. I was hungry. I can take spice. However, I only went with mild and it was spicier than I had anticipated. The heat lingering in my mouth stayed with me for a good fifteen minutes after I had left the eatery as I drove home. If you can't handle spice, you are better off passing on this option. My wrap was good. My problem, and it's a good one, is that I already have a favourite shawarma place -- Pita and Grill. Osmow's tastes like a westernized version of shawarma in comparison. My wrap wasn't as good as that from Pita and Grill. However, I was impressed by how friendly staff are there and how quickly I got my food. If you are tired of Subway, which happens to be in the same plaza, Osmow's gives you a decent option on getting fast, healthy food. (340)

It was a really cold and unpleasant night and I figured the time was right to give Pita and Hummus a try. I knew I wanted a platter of some sort, so I eventually decided to go with the Chicken Platter, which comes with rice, salad, a bunch of chicken, pickles, onions, hummus, and several sauces. I took it home and was quite impressed/intimidated by the sheer amount of food. Thankfully, everything tastes really good. The rice is more flavorful than I might've anticipated, while the salad complements everything very well. The hummus and various sauces are also tasty, while the plentiful chicken has been seasoned well and isn't too dry. My only complaint is that the chicken didn't contain any of the crispy bits one craves from a joint like this, but hopefully that's an issue that'll be worked out in the future. (I think the place had been open for about a week when I showed up.) I'm excited to try more of Pita and Hummus' other offerings in the future, and hopefully they'll be around for a while to come.
