The roofs that Bruce Schaal, Waldo, the foreman, and his crew have done for us over the years all remain in fantastic shape through some very harsh conditions. So, when we needed to reside our home, we called Schaal Roofing to see if they did siding, specifically, James Hardie siding. We were very happy that Bruce let us know they are experienced in installing Hardie siding. The job was big. The old cedar siding and plywood underneath had extensive damage and required removal and replacement. Bruce, Waldo, and the crew worked every day with professionalism and attention to detail as if this was their home. The craftsmanship in the numerous cuts never varied. Even as the job extended, the team worked as engaged as Day 1 through a very hot summer. The crew works so well together and it was great to see the same crew that first worked on one of our roofs 14 years ago, still an expert crew, under Waldo's lead, working on this same property. Bruce was on-site regularly and always a text away if we wanted to discuss anything. I got a complete new driveway, front porch and walkway done and could not be happier with the job they did. Everyone who showed up were professionals and did their work quickly and efficiently over a four visit project spanning almost two months. After breaking up and removing the old asphalt, a base layer was put down and then had to settle for 4-6 weeks. In the meantime, we add brick pave edging and had the whole porch done in one long day. FYI, asphalt projects are dicy and depend to a great deal on the weather and tends to throw off the companies schedule. The work tended to drag a bit, but they stayed in touch and when ready, came and did the job to my complete satisfaction. The owner agreed to come by to look at it and was unwilling to hear any of the concerns. He offered to put more sealant on the driveway for an additional fee (over $150) after saying it looked like there was too much sealer on the driveway to begin with. How is this a resolution? They installed our driveway 6 years ago and have been the only company to touch it since. Very disappointed to say the least.
