They make an effort to get to know each kid and their interests. They make the online format fun, including some chatter about personal interests during the zooms. They also reach out to parents and offer positive and constructive feedback about each child's writing. I was initially looking for an in-person camp but I think the zoom format actually works well for a writing camp. Each day has a specific theme and each participant has to read out their essay to the class. I believe my son's writing skills and confidence has grown due to this camp. All of a sudden, before the school starts, the receptionist told me that my kids can't continue the Tuesday session with Philip anymore because I didn't respond to the email they sent to me. The Tuesday spots my kids have are given to other students. However, there is nothing stated in the email that we as the parents are required to respond to the email if we want to keep the same schedule, or if we didn't respond to the email, our regular session will be given to other students. No one at the center has ever asked my kids if they want to keep the same Tuesday session or switch to a different schedule before or after their tutoring session on Tuesdays. I talked to the center director Norman wang right away, he was very angry and raised up his voice to tell me that your kids have been with Philip for 2 years on Tuesday doesn't mean that they can be with Philip on the same schedule for as long as you want?!! My kids tried to talk to the front desk this evening as well, the front desk person at c2 just told my kids that since your mom didn't respond to the email, we can do whatever we want. I have included the email they sent to me. This is really unfair. I think they treated us this way is because we purchase a big package($16k)from c2 about 2 years ago. Just be very careful parents, if you want to buy tutoring package from c2, pay attention to the hours they subtract as well. A few parents have warned me about this. We've had such a wonderful experience with the Kumon Center on Clement for our 6-year-old…read moredaughter's reading program. We actually started seeing improvement within just two weeks, which was amazing. After about three months, she's now confidently reading Level 1 and Level 2 books completely on her own. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and really know how to build confidence in young readers. The structure of the program helped her develop consistency and independence, and she's genuinely proud of how much she's improved.
