I read the towel story from another member but the towel is not placed on people's back but rather…read morethe instructor creates a breeze with the towel which is like a treat after one sweated over the workout. I also never had an instructor wipe my forehead with the towel, or touch my body. The studio cares a great deal about the sanitary conditions, particularly when they clean the floors with a strong cleaner between each class. As far as the 5-10 minute late window is concern, I learned to be punctual. 5-10 minutes really is more like 8-13 minutes because we have to set out mat and grab our weights, blocks, strap or whatever we need for the class. They also have a class wait list, adopting a 5-10 late window can seriously affect the schedules of other members. As far as the classes being warm, there is a strong reason for it. There is a description for every class. Otherwise, upon arrival one can ask the instructor the particulars of the class, including temperature. I love many of the instructors here, including very skilled and very friendly; Michaela. None of the instructors teach for the money. You will find that many of the instructors are dentist, attorneys and other professionals who love to share their talent and love being part of the community. If you live to give, come join!

I signed up for a CoreRestore which is a restorative yoga class... but I wish they labeled it…read moreclearly that it was would be a WARM YOGA version of a restorative class. I don't like hot yoga, but I will try to refrain those sentiments to give this studio a fair assessment. This location of CorePower Yoga is located at the Marketplace, in the same plaza as Home Depot, Nordstrom Rack, and Boot Barn. There is plenty of parking in this retail plaza. Upon entering the studio, there was a cute waiting area with a fire place, merchandise for purchase, and a front desk. I came early since it was my first time at this studio, but I was surprised when I was told there was no waiver. I was shown to my studio space, but pretty much left on my own to explore the rest of the studio. They have 2 studio spaces that both look large. There are also male and female lockers areas with lockers, bathrooms, and showers. For the CoreRestore class, there were battery-powered candles throughout the studio space. We were instructed to grab 4-5 blocks and settle in at a spot by the wall for the legs up the wall poses. The class was pretty full. Unfortunately there was a person near me that was sniffling and coughing which made me even more germ concerned since we were trapped in this steamed room together. I liked that Elizabeth asked the class if we had any areas we need extra focus on. There were those who mentioned shoulders and back so those areas got extra loving. I enjoyed the opening poses and I feel mostly restful. Elizabeth was really nice and encouraged the class to do what we are comfortable with. At times there were some descriptions that were hard to follow, especially since the room is dark, but she would come around and guide us if we needed help. Class pricing is on the pricier side, since I did use more credits for this class compared to similar classes at another studio. I checked their pricing and confirmed that it was also more than other studios if I came without classpass. Great for those who enjoy hot yoga work outs, but I don't find it relaxing. I dislike stinky classmates sweating, potential for cardiovascular strain, and increased injury risk from over stretching that comes with hot yoga.

It was a great way to explore different classes and find what I enjoy. I've really loved Gentle Yoga, Yin Yang, Slow Flow, Harmony Breath & Sound, and Restorative Yoga. All of the instructors I've taken classes with have been wonderful, especially Sylvia, Sara, Divya, and Natalie. Aysha has also subbed a few classes I've attended and has a very calming voice. I ended up signing up for the monthly unlimited membership after my trial. The pricing is very affordable compared to other studios, and I love the small, intimate atmosphere. The Sanctuary is such a peaceful and welcoming place, and I truly feel like it's a place of healing. Yoga has already made such a positive difference for me mentally and physically, and I'm so glad I found this studio!

I have been curious about Sanctuary Wellness Center & Yoga Studio for a long time now. I was so…read moreexcited to see an opening for Aerial Yoga during a time I was available. I made sure to arrive early... especially when there was this excerpt on the class that says, "Arriving late, even unintentionally can take away from others - their peace, focus, and time". The parking lot was hard to find. I actually had to circle it a few times before finding it, and parking in their back lot. I entered from the back door and made my way through the front to check in with the owner. I checked in early. I signed in. I SIGNED THE WAIVER. The owner was going to give me a studio tour but she kept getting busy with other things. That's fine, not an issue. Their studio space is small. For aerial, there are 9 silks, so 1 for the instructor and 8 for the students. The front left is a bit close to some equipment so the teacher took that spot when it got busy. The spacing is a bit tight, and can cause students to bump into each other if they are not mindful. Also the studio is off a busy street and I can hear the cars driving by, so it could be more relaxing. Come early! Especially with aerial. It is important to adjust the silks where the bottom is at your pelvic height. A lot of the students did not come in until the start of class time, and the instructor still had to lower the silks and then adjust it to their height. OUR CLASS STARTED 10 MINUTES LATE. I don't blame the instructor because they can't turn away their students... but that is 10 minutes wasted from my time even though I was early and prepared. The aerial class itself was a great work out. A bit on the basic end of aerial yoga. I know the instructor mentioned she designs it based on the level of the class and we had some folks who were first timers so the instructor went easy on us. The owner offered to take pictures for us, but she went away. The instructor was nice to take photos too, but her yoga skills are definitely better than her photography skills. In one of the photos where my face and body shaped looked the best, she had her whole thigh in it. Sigh. We were 3 minutes from class ending time and we didn't even get into the silks for a cocoon savasana. At that point I just left cause it didn't seem like we would be doing the savasana or anything. What annoyed me the most ... is receiving a messaging telling me I didn't sign a waiver and that I need to sign one next time. WOW !! I came early... signed the waiver... had my time wasted... and now I get this email telling me I didn't sign the waiver. Before receiving that message I was in the air about coming back. But after seeing that message I was so annoyed. I am not coming back... It would have been more tactful to wait for me to come back and ask me at that time to sign if they misplaced the last one. I work out to relax but this whole experience was so stressful. I shouldn't have my time wasted if THEY are disorganized.

I've taken Sculpt, Signature, TRX and Core here, and the instructors are great at guiding you through a pose, whether you are a beginner or advanced yogi. I appreciate the options given on how to use blocks to actually get you into the correct form for each pose. Evelyn and Walter in particular are excellent... clear cues, good adjustments, the kind of teaching that makes a difference. I've been practicing yoga on and off at a lot of different studios over the years, and I can say with confidence that not every instructor gets you there. These two do. I hit a full wheel and splits for the first time since I started practicing, which tells you everything about how well they teach. One thing I noticed... I much prefer when instructors use the mic headset during class. It keeps their voice calm and steady, which matters a lot when you're trying to stay present in a pose. I took one class there with an instructor who didn't use it, and having to project over the music gave the whole thing a bootcamp energy rather than a yoga one. It wasn't a great fit for me, though I know that style works for some people. What also keeps me coming back is the community. The instructors and other students here are kind and welcoming, the kind of studio where people actually say hello. And the schedule works... there's enough variety in class times that it's easy to find something that fits your day. A few practical notes... there are two bathrooms, no showers, plenty of cubby space for your belongings, and a filtered water fountain if you need a refill. If you're newer to yoga or have been at it for years, this is a solid studio to build a practice at. Just try to peek at who's teaching the mic-free classes if that's not your vibe.
