I had my prom dress altered here to be more fit and they did an excellent job through the horsehair bottom trim, layered lace, and invisible zipper. I came here to get a pleated mini skirt hemmed, but it turned out to be a more complicated case. She was honest and let me know that the skirt looked fine as is, and recommended me to not get it shortened by 1 inch for $60. I just picked up my order and it was $98. This was to shorten a dress strap by one inch and also to hem a pair of jeans. I asked the shop owner why it was so expensive and her response was, "This is what things cost now." I had used them in the past and things were never this expensive. I also had a black pair of slacks that they hemmed previously but the entire hem on one leg came undone. They had to redo it free of charge but my sense is they added the redo to my order without telling me because I can't make sense of why two items with minimal work was $98. I took my wedding dress that I bought off the rack that was 6 sizes too big, to Esther at Jessica's. With the dress being so big and the design being so intricate I didn't think anyone would be able to get it even close to my size. Not only was it close to my size, it was literal perfection. I didn't have to bother and adjust it the whole night, it just sat exactly how it was supposed to on my body. She's a magician. I brought in a nice dress to be hemmed, I noticed when I tried it on that it had to areas that had hangar holders on it and I asked if they could take the two off! I was charged over $101.00 to hem and take off the two strings, the dress did not have an excessive amount of material on the bottom, it pretty straight! Ok, my story started with falling in love with a dress I saw online on Etsy. After measuring myself, I ordered my dress. I was not shocked, but very very disappointed, to find out it didn't fit me at all. It was HUGE, the dress would fall off me just standing there. The bow dimension felt wrong. Highly recommend Jessica's alterations for your wedding dress needs. I went in this fall a total of 3 times to have my dress altered for my November wedding. They not only were able to hem my dress, they also crated an easy bustle. The inside lining of my dress has some wrinkles and creases and the team was able to rework the inside lining and replace the floral motif to work with the hem. I have been taking everything I love to Jessica's for a few years now, I trust her with my very favorite pieces, she is so sweet and delicate. Every item I have ever brought her comes out, absolutely perfect, and exactly what I asked for! She is a miracle worker. Always on time or even early. I'm usually not in a hurry so I let her know that, and she tells me come pick up in a week that works out perfectly, this Thanksgiving I brought in a beautiful pair of brown slacks and asked her if she could get them done in a rush, she had them done for me in two days before Thanksgiving! This is the most unprofessional tailor I have ever been to. I understand being busy, but to have me put on my dress put pins in it, mark it with chalk and then tell me you can't do the alterations. Now I have chalk on my dress, that won't come off. I called in advance and was told no appointment necessary, and was never told they were behind. Fast forward an hour and I bring the pants into this shop asking if THEY can do it today, she looks at the clock and says we close in 5 minutes so no, but she followed us out the door and says, OK OK I can do it.
