I brought four items in here to be altered. I picked them up two weeks later and when I got home found out that they didn't even touch one pair of my pants. I called on the phone and the gentleman was extremely rude and hung up on me. I went back in 15 minutes later and asked to be refunded for the pants that he did not touch. Instead, he argued with me. and I had to threaten to contact my credit card company before he refunded me. Very dishonest. practices. BTW, after reading a few of these other reviews, I concur 100% with some of the customer comments. I heard a lot of good things about this place and have never used a tailor but I decided to give it a try. My mother and I gathered some clothes and we went in. I had a favorite pair of jeans that I only needed the waist taken in. Picked up the clothes 2 weeks later. When I put them on the next day, I realized that he also shortened them. He took 3 inches off the length. We never discussed shortening, he didn't pin them up at the cuff, there was no talk of hemming. So I went back the next day to show him how short they were compared to another pair that I have that are identical. He simply said, "Too late." I'm in shock and my jeans are ruined. There is something wrong with these people, sadly, specifically the man. I went in to have some jeans hemmed, he made ONE chalk mark on them - I'm used to a tailor pinning them so I can see! Anyway, I trusted he knew was he was doing, Picked them up, went home, not only were both sides uneven, they were both too long! Went back in and got my money back. My friend got a skirt hemmed, the stitching is uneven. Oh - and when I went in to get my pants, I forgot my ticket, and the woman looked at me with this both nasty and incredulous face, it was almost comical. Weird place. Not worth saving $10 to have a hem here. My local drycleaner does a much better job. read more

I was able to get measured there and they took care of the rest They did a superb job on the tailoring. The turn around time was super fast and they dry cleaned them as well. The owner does NOT stand behind his work. Instead he denies that he even did the work and there is no receipt to prove otherwise because he doesn't give you one. The prices and turn around times may be good but you do get what you pay for. He did a hem on a pair of pants and the thread started to unravel. I went back to ask for a quick repair so that it wouldn't continue to unravel. He refused-- and after inspecting the hem-- denied he even did the work because it was a bad, uneven stitch job. I have lived in Thousand Oaks for 30 years. This is the first and last time I will use this tailor. There are plenty of other competent tailors in the general area. Sometimes paying a few dollars more and getting a receipt to prove your purchase is worth it. read more

My fiance dropped off a wedding dress here for simple alterations. We call to try to go pick it up, and nobody answers. Weird, they've had it over a wee. Once she goes to pick it up this sign is on the door. That end date is scary close to our wedding if not done we are in huge trouble. No calls, texts, or emails letting us know about this, no way to get her dress. We checked on the 4th as well and nope, sign still there. I fully understand the emergencies, but not letting us come pick it up or giving us any heads up is ridiculous. We will for sure. Never be coming here again read more

This tailor repeatedly proves why they are the best in town! I bought 2 dresses on Amazon and wanted the top of 1 sewn to the bottom of the other. I went to a highly rated tailor down the street who kept me waiting forever before giving me a quote of $140. That was more than I spent on both dresses! I drove down the street to Kings and he did a beautiful job for $25! I've since been there many times. I've purchased items for a last-minute occasion and they are always willing to rush my tailoring job, (though I don't like to ask this of them.) On top of always doing a perfect job very quickly, their prices are dirt cheap compared to other places. I hope they can pay their rent with prices so cheap. Make sure you take your tailoring to them to keep their doors open! P.S. I use Google translate into Korean if I need to use detailed instructions. The owners really appreciate it and it works really well. (For simple jobs, this isn't necessary.) read more

What a find. Another great experience at King's. I brought in my jacket with a broken zipper. He had it fixed in 5 minutes and didn't even charge me. Very kind and costs a fraction of other places (I was quoted ~200 for some simple fixes (hem, button attachment, ect) and King's did for $80 and turned it around in 1 week! They take card, but the reader is old and slow so maybe cash would be better if you have it. read more

This was literally the best alteration service I have ever had in my life. I had such a wonderful experience. I am graduating college this year and my grad dress was too big on me. I called to make an appointment with King's, they said come in today, so I went in that day. I tried on the dress and explained my issue -- chest and waist area needed to be tightened. The owner took one look at me in the dress, stuck a bunch of pins everywhere, and said "good?" And I said, "looks good." Then he had me take off the dress. Whole process literally took 4 minutes. Then he said "come back in several days". I came back in several days, and the dress was so beautiful and fit so perfectly. So, so perfect. I am so impressed and amazed. The best part is, it was so affordable. $20.00. I literally recommend this place to everyone and anyone. I'll be coming back again for sure for all my alteration needs. This was very reasonable for the amount of work being done, and likely saved me more than $3000 in buying new cloths. Quoted 1 week for the work to be done, and it was done on time. Small parking lot in a strip mall. It is a small store filled with bolts of wonderful cloth. There's a dressing room and the work space in back. He made 3 vests and tailored a number of suits, shirts, pants for us. Friendly gentleman with broken English. We didn't have trouble communicated what we needed. Very disappointing in the quality of work and attention to detail. I brought 5 pairs of pants here to have them hemmed. I informed the older gentleman about the requested measurement, he just threw the pants in a pile and started to ringing me up at the register. I did not see him put any tag on the pants to document the requested measurement; Sure I was feeling uneasy, but I figured they are the professional and perhaps have great memory. After receiving my pants back, all 5 pairs of pants were measured incorrect, and 1 pair of pants had an inch longer inseam length. I won't be going back here perhaps of the language barrier, or lack of attention to detail which made the whole experience is a complete waste. Now I have to take my pants to another tailor to have them corrected. If you are going to take your clothes here for alteration, please make sure your requested measurements are properly documented in writing on the receipt; not just a confirmation of a nod or a smile from the staff. Upon receipt of the clothes at the counter, make sure the requested measurements are correct, and matching. read more
