Marquis cleaners does a great job with shirts, suits, jackets, comforters, etc... they welcome you with a smile and often walk your dry cleaning out to your car for you. I've lived in the Conejo Valley for nearly a decade and had yet to find a dry cleaner I truly loved--until now. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and professionally. A few days later, I picked up my items and was genuinely impressed--they looked fantastic. What truly won me over, though, was the care they showed my daughter. She needed a dress altered in a hurry, and the owner kindly stayed open a few extra minutes to make sure she could get there for a fitting. That kind of personal service is rare. I had been procrastinating taking in a jacket and two windbreakers for repairs. The jacket had developed a separation underneath the right armpit and one windbreaker was separating at the collar line. The remaining windbreaker required the pocket insert to be repaired. I took all three in on Friday and they were repaired and ready for pickup by Tuesday (a day of when promised). Excellent repairs on all three. This cleaners is a rip-off. I sent my young son there with three (3) suits that needed alterations. The suits need to be hemmed, the cuffs needed to be lengthened on two of the suites and one of the cuffs needed to be extended. All three of the jackets needed to be taken in on the sides and shoulders. My son spent at least an hour being measured for the alterations. The owner's wife used safety pins and stick (straight) pins to identify and pin the areas where the alterations were to take place. We stopped by to pick the suits up about four (4) week later. The first thing we noticed was the price. After having brought the suits out front, the owner (husband) sheepishly and in a low voice said, "That will be $460.00." I almost choked when I heard that price because all three suits together did not cost that much. I asked the owner to please adjust his pricing and give us a discount because we could not afford to pay $460.00. He said, "no". He went on to say, "My wife has put in a lot of work on these suits, so that is the final price." I told him that I did not think that was a fair price and asked if he had given my young son and estimate. He said he did not give him an estimate because they were not exactly how much work needed to be done. I told him that he should not have done anything until an estimate had been approved, especially when asking someone to pay $460.00. He refused to lower the price, frowned and angrily contorted his face, then snatched the suits from the hanging pick-up rack. He then proceeded to take them in the back. The unspoken threat was, you will not be getting your suits back. I then told him that I would pay the $460.00 because my son needed the suits for a special occasion. I had brought some new clothing that needed to be dry-cleaned and it was lying on the counter. He said he would give me a $40.00 discount on the new dry cleaning, but would not discount the $460.00. I took the suits home and had my son try them on. I was shocked, angered and very upset to see that the only thing that had been done was hemming. The three pair of pants on each suit had been hemmed. NOTHING ELSE HAD BEEN DONE. No alterations for the jackets had been done! The seams had not be taken in at the waist. Words cannot express my anger, frustration and disappointment. I immediately phoned them and expressed my disappointment. I was told to bring the suits back with son and they would fix them. Long story short, my son went back, tried the suits on a second time for measuring. When we picked them up a second time, we noticed only one suit jacket had been altered. We were told during the time of pickup that the sleeves could not be lengthened or shortened because there was not enough material to do so. The female owner also told us that alterations had been done on just one of the jackets, but not the other two because there wasn't enough material on the other two jackets. I had never heard such nonsense and we wanted to know why were told this at the onset BEFORE anything had been done. We could not get an answer. I have never experienced such a betrayal of trust. The reason I felt my trust had been betrayed is because I've used their services many times over the past few years. However, I then remembered that I had constantly received calls from them during two-year pandemic shut down urging me to come in and pick up my dry cleaning. At that time I remember thinking to myself, why would anyone urge you to leave your home during such a critical time. It now occurs to me that management at Marquis Cleaning didn't care that we were in a pandemic. Their only concern was making money. Now it is my heartfelt belief that management at Marquis Cleaners are trying to make up for their financial losses experienced during the pandemic by overcharging their clients. In doing so they are betraying the trust of the entire unsuspecting Thousand Oaks community. I am sure I am not their only victim. If possible, I would take away the 1 star given above on this review, and give Marquis Cleaners a negative five star review if such a review could be given. Needless to say, I will never do business with this establishment again. read more

This has been the only dry cleaner my family has used since I was a little girl. Now they are only ones I use as well! These are honestly some of the nicest people, I wouldn't go anywhere else based on that alone. They always do an amazing job removing stains from the clothes I bring in. I'm pretty clumsy, and with everything I've brought over the years I'm amazed that they have been able to successfully remove every stain. On top of all that, I called the other day in a pinch. My husband had an interview, and his previously perfect, wrinkle free suit (his favorite one), had fallen off the hanger in the closet. I called Marquis Cleaners (while my husband you-tubed how to iron a suit, and tried... unsuccessfully) and apologetically told them we were in a pinch. I bought a Conejo Valley deal to use here ($25 for $50) & so I brought in four pairs of pants to be hemmed. They did a nice job & even cleaned/pressed the pants, & I still have $2 to use (basic alterations are $12 each). The location is convenient with ample parking & it wasn't busy both times I went in. They also deliver within a certain radius on Tuesdays & Thursdays, which is great. The man who I assume is the owner was kind of funny when I came in for the first time -- his first words to me were that I "came in at a bad time." Not the friendliest greeting for a new customer but I shrugged & said I could come back later, but he said it was fine. read more
