This place felt like a scam, I recommend you avoid it. I went for several cavities and one tooth that needed to be pulled. They gave me a treatment plan that included pulling the tooth and recommended crowns for almost all of the cavities. When I asked for more information about why I needed so many crowns, the receptionist blew me off, and when I asked again, she was very condescending and spoke to me like I was a child when explaining why she thought I needed it. I was taken aback but scheduled the one tooth removal because I wanted that part done. During the tooth removal, the dentist and assistant were very unprofessional and gossiped the entire time and seemed distracted, and even took a break halfway through while I was sitting in the chair waiting. After that experience, I decided to go to a different dentist for the rest of the work, and they told me I didn't even need crowns, I just needed fillings! They quoted me less than a third of the cost for the rest of the work. They also checked with my insurance first to confirm the work was covered. I later found out that Jester did NOT do that, because they just came back asking for even more money because my insurance apparently didn't cover some of their charges. When they first contacted me for more money, I legitimately thought it was a scam call because my phone registered the number as "probable spam", and Jester just texted a link demanding more money from an unrecognized number that, again, my phone labeled as probable spam. I sent Jester several emails asking them to confirm and send the link from their official email address, but they never replied. I just kept getting calls from the spam number, until they left a voicemail threatening to report the debt to claims. I would avoid this place and choose literally any other dentist. read more

Terrible and catastrophic care financially and physically. Ended up with continued horrific pain, was not believed and had to go find another dentist and found one right by my house who is amazing who fixed all my issues--never had ANY pain! The dentist who retired from Jester was amazing and then there was a change in dentists. Worst experience ever. read more

Update 4: Dr. B left voicemail wanting to know "what we did wrong and what we could do get it right." What you did wrong: harassing patient and responsible party to pay bill denied by insurance. How can you make it right? Confirm patient insurance will pay for non-emergency procedure and delay if need to until insurance will pay. read more

Awful. Had a crown in January of 2019 that this office never filled with insurance with delta dental (take a look at the photos) now I am getting letters from this dentist saying that they have not been paid lol well maybe that's because they don't know how to file a claim accurately lol this is the biggest pain as I have never had an issue with any other dentist in my entire life. read more

After not having insurance for the past 2 years (while I started a business) I had neglected to visit a dentist on a regular bi-annual basis. So, I purchased a Groupon for Jester Village Dental. And, it was probably the best purchase I've ever made. Previously, I had no idea that this place existed and would have subsequently never gone. Thank god for Groupon! My hygienist, Delaney, was OUTSTANDING. Seriously, she was, hands down, the most thorough hygienist I've ever had. She was so thorough that my teeth not only felt different, they were about 3 shades lighter when I left -from just the cleaning! I couldn't believe my eyes. Granted, my jaw was soar for a day from the 1 and half hour cleaning but it was totally worth every second! This might sound crazy, but I'm truly looking forward to going back. I met with Dr. Kasabian, albeit briefly, after my cleaning. Since I had received a clean bill of health, there wasn't much need for additional consultation. Nonetheless, he was truly delightful. I had become accustomed to dentists that recommend excessive and costly procedures (purely for profit) and was expecting, in the very least, a recommendation for a root canal. However, Dr. K, didn't make any excessive recommendations. I was so pleased with his honesty and charm. Needless to say, the staff was outstanding, they couldn't friendlier and more accommodating. Additionally, Ashley, at the front desk spent a considerable amount of time going through different ways in which they will work with people without insurance. She was so sweet and thoughtful and really made me feel like they valued my patronage and wanted my business and return. She's awesome! So, I will totally be returning. Thanks guys! Having used Dr. Kassabian for regular dental visits before my short move to Phoenix, I of course returned to his practice once back in Allergy Central Austin. During my normal cleaning, Delaney recommended that I look in to braces to ease crowding and such. WHAT?!?!?! At 35 years old, in braces. NO! She won me over by mentioning the fact I could get glow in the dark bands. DONE. 9 months in, I am amazed at the change in my teeth and my bite. My young daughters now want braces when they "get bigger". Let's hope not. Anyways, thanks to Dr. Kassabian and crew, most importantly Delaney, the smile saver. read more

If I could leave negative stars for this business I would. First, they did not mention I was out of network. I thought that would be a common courtesy, but I guess not. Everything would have been covered if they were in network. I had just gotten done with the hygienist when he came up behind me and patted both my arms and called me 'kiddo'. I thought touching me was inappropriate enough but also calling me kiddo was pretty insulting, He said I didn't have any cavities but wanted to fill in a hole (with a filling) so I had the filling put in but within days I was having tooth pain in that tooth and the 'hole' wasn't even filled in (it was just a deep groove). I was so uncomfortable around Dr. Kassabian (and upset with him) that it took me a month to force myself back in to have a look. When I went back he told me I had cracked the filling and he would have to replace it. I said I was going to have a second opinion. He confronted me and asked why I didn't trust him. I said he told me he was filling in the hole- it wasn't filled in and now I have pain. He explained that my top tooth was putting too much pressure and that he would have to grind on the tooth above it - 3 times. I told him that I'm entitled to a second opinion and he got upset and left. I was near tears at this point. I have never had a problem with any other dentist before him. He made me very uncomfortable BOTH as a woman AND as a patient- and I don't trust the man. I had another dentist look at it and he said that he was going to take a little off of the top tooth and I didn't need to replace the filling. The pain was completely gone after. He was in network and didn't cost me a thing. I wonder if I even needed the filling in the first place. read more

Having just moved to the area, I was looking for a local dentist and potentially also interested in Invisalign. I've been to this office a couple of times now and in general I've been satisfied with everyone there. Everyone's extremely nice, and cleanings have been extremely thorough and as pleasant as can be for the dentist. I always come out of there smiling. Here's the non-obvious stuff you should know: 1. They offer optional adult flouride treatments, which are those trays that you hold on your teeth for a while, at about $18 (it's usually not covered by insurance for adults, so this is an out-of-pocket FSA/HSA-able expense). Most dentists I have been to have not offered this. While the flouride trays of my childhood were disgusting, gunky ordeals, Dr. Kassabian's staff have selected a much more mild-tasting, pleasantly foamy flouride substance that's much less unpleasant - and tastes like vanilla cake, as a bonus. 2. Their web presence is a bit confusing. I found two separate websites for the same business - http://www.dentalworkaustin.com and http://jestervillagedental.com/. 3. Both of these websites claim that they offer Saturday hours by appointment, but when I asked the office itself, they said that they don't do Saturdays at all. This is where my star comes off, as it's kind of misleading to offer Saturday appointments when they're not available. I inquired and apparently they don't have any staff that are able to work Saturdays, which is why they're not available yet, although it seems to be something that Dr. Kassabian wants to do. They do after some limited Friday appointments, though. 4. Appointments are generally scheduled 6 months out so they do keep their calendars pretty full. For your first cleaning, they set your appointment six months in advance and then call you when someone cancels, working you into their rotation. It worked fine for me. 5. Your very first visit is not a cleaning but a general oral health checkup; the cleaning itself is scheduled for the second visit. 6. They offer Invisalign - ask for their specials. I'll be starting this treatment soon and will update my review once it's underway. read more

I bought an Invisalign package from them last January or February - to cut a very long story short, it is the middle of July and I still have yet to see any trays or services performed. There has been a string of passing the buck, people getting fired, people saying, "well, they didn't tell me anything" or "I thought we were waiting to hear from you". They NEVER returned my calls, never called me on their own initiative. For months I have had to hound them, to no avail. I finally had enough last week and asked for a refund. After a bit of hedging they agreed to refund my money. I called today, a week later, and they said yet again that "they thought I was thinking about it and would let them know", even though a week ago I spoke with several people and told them in unequivocal terms that I wanted a full refund without delay. We shall see how long it takes to get my refund, or if it ever happens. Stay away from here - these people don't know what the heck they're doing. Update: They are now refusing to give me a full refund - they are offering a fraction of the price because now, miraculously, my Invisalign is ready. I should have asked for a refund months ago! :( read more

I had previously had a horrible experience w/ a dentist. Dr. Kasabian has cured of that. Best dentist office I have ever been to. They take good care of their patients and don't let you suffer. They are VERY thorough and are a great help with the insurance nightmare. I got a crown there last year, first one I'd ever had. I've been to Jester Dental for a number of years and often wondered about some of the charges, now and then. It sometimes felt "odd" but I didn't question it knowing how funky insurance can be. However, recently, there were too many issues to ignore when I asked them to check on predetermined costs for needed crowns. Long story short, the "quote" kept going up each time I checked. For example, my portion was going to be $305 (per crown, I needed 3), a few weeks later, it was $349 each, then the actual day of the procedure, it was that 2 remained at $349 and 1 was not going to be covered at all, so $1400 (please). I declined to have the procedure to go home and do my homework. Called the insurance company to find out this was not at all the case. The crown was going to be covered, according to the insurance company and the other two crowns were not approved. I called Jester back and all I got was, "not sure how that happened....blah, blah,...." Stuff happens, but seriously????? This sounds and smells like unethical behavior and unprofessional practice.....You decide. I will never go back there and you should think twice. read more

"Jester Vilage Dental - where the joke is on you!" I went here last year for a consultation. As soon as I sat down they gave me a stack of paperwork, including 5 legal waivers in which I would be agreeing to become his patient, among other things. When I requested to have a quick conversation with him before I signed (to see if he could actually fix my problem), his staff told me to wait. I didn't sign anything, but I patiently waited... 35 minutes later, they said he was too busy to see me and asked that I leave. Yet their waiting room was empty during this entire period. So they lied to me and refused my business because I didn't want to agree to some arbitrary contract before meeting the person to whom I'd be contractually obligated. Jester Village Dental sends the message that they're less interested in helping people than they are collecting your money and covering their own backsides (which makes you wonder, "What exactly are they so afraid of?"). I now see a dentist, an orthodontist, and an oral surgeon who don't require you sign a mountain of forms until you're about to receive treatment. AND they aren't afraid to meet you and (gasp!) have a conversation with you beforehand. I would be fine with Jester Village if they'd simply told me that Dr. Kassabien wouldn't be able to see me if I didn't agree to their terms beforehand. Instead they chose to waste my time and lie to me. If that's how people get treated before they become patients, I can only imagine how they're treated afterward. read more

After a dissappointing procedure with another office that missed an infection in my tooth Dr. Kassibian saved me! I came to his office with severe pain and he immediately diagnosed the issue spot on. He and his staff got me referred to an endodontist that saw me within 24 hours and today Dr. Kassabian finished what has been 3 weeks of ongoing procedures and I couldn't be happier. His staff provides top quality care. Whether you're just looking for routine care or if you have special needs, I highly recommend Jester Village Dental and Dr. Kassibian. The entire staff is calming, friendly, professional, and thorough. These were important qualities for me since I was already in pain and im scared of dental procedures. I had also gone to Dr. Kassabian about 8 years ago to remove 2 wisdom teeth and I recall that then he was also really careful. So much so I barely felt the shots in my mouth or the procedure itself. THAT is defintley a gift. My mistake was trying a new dentist- I won't be doing that again as long as I am in the Austin area. So...5 stars to this great group for sure. read more

The staff was super friendly and professional. The low rating is for several reasons: 1. When I was told at this office that I had severe gum disease, after 44 years and a single cavity in my entire life, I was shocked! A second opinion by another dentist indicated I did not have any evidence of gum disease and in fact, showed me proof via X-ray and probe measurements that I do not have any evidence of gum disease. 2. I was always being 'sold' something like topical fluoride, visalign braces, whitening treatments. I didn't particularly like that. 3. Never an appointment on a Friday. I travel Sunday-Thurs for work. Really REALLY inconvenient for a road warrior. I want to feel like I'm part of the treatment plan and saying no to over the top treatments (luxuries?) didn't make me feel good about the partnership with this dental team in addition to the difficulty scheduling an appointment at MY convenience. With all of this, I'm convinced there are far better experiences out there in terms of quality dentistry. read more

The staff is friendly, supportive and have a can-do attitude that is unmatched. From the moment I first walked in, the staff was all smiles and very helpful. After being charged hundreds of dollars for multiple procedures/appliances, I discovered that not only were the charges exorbitant but that I had been virtually ripped off to a shocking degree by this practice. In addition, Dr. K is not that good a dentist and I ended up with an abscess and ill fitting dentures as a result of his poor treatment. I should have taken him to court. I give him and the practice only one star because it is not possible to leave NONE! Receptionists repeatedly gave erroneous information regarding my insurance coverage/benefits, assuring all procedures were covered or would be covered by the time they were scheduled. I discovered these lies when I called the insurance company to find out why they were not properly paying my bills. My insurance company revealed that the majority of the procedures were NOT covered by my insurance despite the fact that we told Dr. K not to perform any procedures not covered by insurance without letting us know. Went to him as a referral from our previous dentist on the east coast before we moved here. BIG MISTAKE! Stay away or you will regret it both physically and economically!!
