This is a great place for lunch! It has a really nice ambiance and you can tell they take pride in their establishment. Everything from the leather menu books to the fancy soup bowls made the presentation exquisite. All of the lunch menu options are under $10 and come with a soup and a side, so you're really getting your money's worth. The vegetarian delight probably wasn't the best meal to showcase their cooking skills, but it was quite good. It had a lot of different vegetables and was a good portion size. Jet's Palace is great. I really am not want to complain, but I do wish that I would've checked the stapled sack before leaving. We got to the campground, which was over 20 minutes away and we were missing some of our items. It was too late to go back and everyone was hungry, but if I'm gonna spend $90 on supper, I expect to get everything I paid for. However, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed our meal. By the time I got to sit down and eat my meal was still hot, a plus. I had twice coked pork and the entree had flavor, yeah! Can't tell you how many times I've tried Chinese only to have a bland meal. My dinner combo was more then I could eat and it left me with left overs. Grabbed dinner at Jet's Palace while passing through. It was just ok. I was hoping for better, given the great reviews, but was just a little bit disappointed. We got the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. It was definitely reasonably priced. Two orders for $22. The portion size of the chicken was more than enough and even though the rice came in the tiniest box, it was more than enough. The rice wasn't like the fried rice I am used to. It seems to be just rice with soy sauce. There were no vegetables in it and I might have seen one or two tiny pieces of egg in it. If you like your fried rice with some flavor, this wasn't it. The chicken was just ok also. Some of the pieces seemed a little bit tough, like the chicken was over cooked or had sat for a while. It wasn't all that way, but a good portion. The flavor was what you would expect with sweet and sour chicken, for the pieces that weren't too tough to chew. I couldn't speak to the restaurant itself as we are still in pandemic mode and there was no indoor (or outdoor dining). The woman who waited on me was friendly though - as were most all of the people we interacted with in Missouri. Final thought - it wasn't the worst Chinese food we have ever had, but it wasn't a show stopper either. read more

The hot sour soup was more flavorful than any other we've had locally, The Crab Rangoon was delicious and obviously handmade, unlike the frozen variety you get elsewhere. It's a long haul from Chicago to Kansas City, but the best path is through Hannibal. Still, you need to eat somewhere, and "it's a long lonesome road". With many a straight turn in this case. McDonald's? Nope. Other fast food places - honestly there are not many. So - hey - GOOD American Chinese would be wonderful. And here it is. I normally condemn American Chinese because I prefer authentic, but these folks do a good job with American Chinese - it's tasty, it's quick, it's not expensive - and it's not fast food. Update: Jet's just finished a complete interior and exterior overhaul. It's now the cleanest (spic and span) restaurant in the area. Bright, open interior and fresh new bathrooms. The interior is very clean and appealing. New, clean carpet. Clean comfortable booth seating as well as chairs. No stains anywhere like I often see at Chinese restaurants. AND NO FUNKY SMELL! I hate that yucky burned oil., trash, stanky shrimp smell that you often get at small chinese restaurants. The kids will love the three big beautiful aquariums at the front also. There is a tiny bit of language barrier, but not bad and you quickly develop an "ear" and do ok. The food was great!! I got the lunch special ($6.95) szechuan beef and my husband got the lunch special kung pao chicken. His eggroll was more like a spring roll, but tasty and FRESH. Both were appropriately spicy, but not knock your socks off and beg for mommy hot. I had a head cold. So it was perfect to open up those sinuses and I could breathe by the time we left. Lunch specials are good 7 days a week too. Bathroom is small but clean and tidy. Had soap, lots of towels on the dispenser and trash was not overflowing even though its a tiny one, so they must maintain it often. Parking can be tricky. Maybe we'll park across the street at Farm and Home next time. Service was SUPER fast and friendly but unobtrusive. We will definitely be making this a regular for our routine. What a great gem. Ignore the outside of the building, it's nice and clean inside oh and clean bathrooms too. Prices were fair and they give you a ton of food. We ordered the Crab Rangoon and they were fresh and hot, not the cruddy frozen ones. They were good too. We ordered the Crispy honey walnut shrimp and the Mongolian verge. Both were great and fresh. We were on our way home from a long drive and we stopped here to grab some dinner because we were feeling some chinese food and lemme tell you: it's wonderful! I'm not too big a fan of Chinese food because 1. I'm over it and 2. there's barely any quality Chinese food that I've tasted. But this place is great! Choice of white or fried rice. The garlic chicken came mixed with a lot of vegetables and was very good - just really sweet with a lot more sugar (2-3x what I'm used to). Egg roll was soggy since it was packaged in container with garlic chicken and got soaked in the sauce, chicken was rubbery, veggies were overcooked and hard, dried up broccoli, fried rice is just rice, no veggies or pork in it like other restaurants. Don't let the outside fool you. The main sign looks dumpy, and the building doesn't have any curb appeal. However, the inside- including the bathrooms - has been nicely remodeled and is a step way above the typical local Chinese place. Food is great - certainly the best Asian food in the area. Kung pao chicken is great, as are the dumplings, crab rangoon, twice cooked pork, etc. We have been there a few times now, and we don't even live in Hannibal. If you are looking for excellent Chinese dining in Hannibal then this is the place to go. I have eaten at numerous Oriental restaurants across the country and the quality was as good, if not better, than most I've had. I had the Hunan Chicken and found it very flavorful without that generic taste you often get at Oriental restaurants. As for the service, we started off with a new waitress who was unfamiliar with the dishes and had difficulty answering our questions. But soon after she had the owner come over and he was very helpful. He even offered to substitute or add vegetables of our choosing to our dishes in order to make them into what we were looking for. I was hoping for some baby corns with my Hunan Chicken and he graciously added them to my dish without any additional cost. Costwise the prices were reasonable. They were not cheap nor expensive, but moderate. I will definitely be returning to Jets in the near future and I strongly encourage others to patronize this place. read more

Keep the 5 star ratings coming!! Best meal we had in Hannibal. And we ate at the brewery and a bar and grill, so that's saying something. We came in on a Sunday for lunch on our last day of our geocaching trip. We were sat immediately and a waitress came over and got our drink orders right away. Once she returned with the waters we ordered our food and it was on its way. I ordered the chicken Lo Mein lunch special which was only $7.15! It came with a huge portion of chicken Lo Mein (which was incredibly delicious), an egg roll, and hot and sour soup. Everything was hot and delicious. My water stayed full. Our bill was ready when we were and it was just an overall excellent meal and experience. If I ever come back to Hannibal, I will be hitting up Jets! read more

Great food! My shrimp with lobster sauce was delicious and not heavy on cornstarch or MSG, which I liked. My husband said his Mushu pork was some of the best he'd ever had.
