Mentor certainly has its share of pizza places and I'd never even considered going to this new one as I normally make my own. At a recent trip to the Original Pancake house, the owner of Jet's was there passing out coupons for a free 4-cut square Detroit style pizza with one topping which is their speciality. Decided to try it. We also ordered a Jet's 10 with a hand tossed crust style. They let you choose the type of crust, toppings for crust and pizza toppings. We liked the four cut, but it was a tad more dough than we prefer and it needed more sauce. The Jet's 10 was good and we liked the hand tossed crust. The shop is very clean. It is takeout only and the parking is in the back unless you're handicapped. It is not a far walk from the back door to the front to pick up your pizza. They have multiple ways to place an order. Online, phone, text. Our order was ready at the specified time and the gentleman who gave me the pizza was nice. I'm glad we tried it. We will try their thin crust next time and a flavored crust. Came in on a weekday eve about 6pm. Not too busy. Pretty bright, low level music playing from the kitchen area. Reviewed the menu video screen well then asked the counter staff for suggestions. They were nice, patient and helpful. We decided on a 8-sided Detroit style with ham and pineapple and turbo crust. Got a Greek salad and 8pc wings honey BBQ. Had to wait 20-25min.. No seating at this location so took home to eat. Pizza was decent but not wow. Wings were pretty good, had little crunch to them. Cooked thru. Honey BBQ was little too sweet for me. Greek salad was not fresh. Seems maybe sat for a day in the refrigerator? Greek sauce was ok. Overall it's decent food. Not sure if I'd be back again that quickly. I would give them another chance ordering different items than this first time. read more

My husband never did that when we got together and had kids I still don't know his name! And my kids actually ate the food they never eat mah cooking! This store is new. Taking that into account, the food was what was expected for Detroit Style Pizza. The order times are outrageous when dinner orders for pickup are over an hour and delivery to the limited delivery are is 75 to 90 minutes. Where can this store improve, 100% it is the organization and management of the front counter. For instance, we placed our order, showed up a little after one hour, arrived at the counter and gave our name. The counter staff went off to look for the order, proceeded to give out 2 separate orders that they found in the warmer, then started calling names of other orders in the warmer with the first one being yelled "around me" to the line being my name. After letting her stand there a second I raised my eyebrows at her and she looked at me and said "wait, that's you?". The front counter organization and management as the one key point of contact for customers needs to be fixed at this location if they hope to move the stars count up. The pizza is good, but the service could be better!!! Delivery usually takes an hour no matter what time of day it is and I only live 5 mins from there. Pick up time in store is never accurate, you still end up standing there waiting another 20 minutes on top of your time, and no one seems to really care about their job there, they were all just standing around talking towards the back while people were waiting for help. No sense of urgency and they're really unorganized, getting orders mixed up, handing the wrong order to people, it was a mess! Jet's pizza itself is SO GOOD!!! But this location is terrible. They take so long to prep anything, and they do not prioritize their orders correctly. I deliver for Uber and every single time I pick up from here I get points deducted for being late even though it wasn't my fault I had to wait forever to pick up. Last time I was in there I sat around and waited while a lady in front of me and her husband with a stinky dog hem-hawed around about what they wanted to order. While my order is waiting and getting cold. First off, dogs in restaurants in Ohio are illegal, get the thing out of there. Someone should've had the guts to say "excuse me you need to wait outside with the dog". Second - it would've taken two seconds for a backup worker to hand me the order I'm getting in trouble for being late. Or set up a place like other restaurants have where the pick up orders are staged and easily accessible. read more

Absolutely terrible. Was told order would be delivered in 40 min. We called back after an hour. They said it's on it's way. Called back in another hour. Was told they set it for pickup not delivery. Than why not call?? Horrible and never again. read more
