Stopped in and was fairly busy. Several employees noted us but no one greeted us for about 5-7 minutes. BUT, once they did things got good. Waitress was friendly and quick. Our food was up real quick. I had the cheese ravioli and it was great. Loved the sauce. And my wife kept going on about the chicken Marsala. A definite win. I'd recommend it to you. Great ambiance. So this was my first time there, apparently everyone else in the city knows about it. Got there early on Saturday night at 5:30 there was a 45 minute wait. Well worth the wait delicious food, awesome service and great ambiance. I had the chicken Marsala it was so good I kept eating. I was full after the sale and bread. Portions were huge. Everything about this place was amazing!! We came to town for the eclipse. We had couple different restaurants we wanted to try & none of them were opened. Zappitelli's was one of the only locally owned places opened that wasn't another chain restaurant. I am sooooo glad we ended up there. The staff was so nice & professional. Their food is wonderful! Portions are huge so my husband and I typically share an entree and get an extra salad and roll. Their sauce is so good - not sweet - and compliments their dishes. Ordered take out, entree's and pizza, entree's were amazing but word to the wise, ask for extra sauce because the pasta soaks it up . Portions are crazy big, everyone has another meal in leftovers. Pizza was good but needs more sauce ( quite dry). It was ready when they said it would be and staff is very nice. Love the new side entrance for to go. This place is a family favorite with a classic italian style. They provide huge portions and their sauce is incredible. the wait staff is also extremely attentive. The cannolis are good but they weren't filled all the way through and the cream filling was, seemingly, more of a lighter mascarpone type rather than a typical ricotta filling. After 20 years in Concord we finally decided to order pizza from Zappitelli's. Ordered the deluxe Italian. One red and one white. I was so excited because it contained all my favorite Italian toppings. I'm not sure how they can consider themselves Italian. No true Italian would put thick chunks of prosciutto, genoa and capicola. Those meats need to be thinly sliced. The flavor was average at best. This just proved to me that yet another Mentor restaurant is bland with nothing more to offer. read more

Amazing quality and quantity. This restaurant serves up delicious food and lots of it. The side salads were much better than the typical iceberg lettuce with a tomato. The balsamic dressing and cheese topped it all off. The side of spaghetti is a full meal in itself. The sauce and meatballs are very good. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. AMAZING! The lasagna was the best I've ever tasted and the portion was HUGE! You also get a huge side of two gigantic meatballs smothered in a rich marinara sauce, a fresh salad with loads of mozzarella and a sweet homemade Italian dressing, and two fresh baked dinner rolls. Good service even on a busy Saturday evening. Only negative would be that the dinner salads are iceberg lettuce but the toppings and dressings made them still taste pretty good. I dropped them down a notch because they would not fix and serve what G wanted. When I get G to go Italian, he likes 2 things. Pizza or angel hair. We had pizza yesterday so that left angel hair. I have been telling people for over a decade that Zappitelli's in Mentor has the best pizza ever. Nope! Y'all done f@#$ it up. The crust is DISGUSTING. Soft, sweet and tough.
