Olton is a nice 45 minute drive from Lubbock so check their social media accounts to make sure they have food before you go. We arrived hungry and found a short line. They have plenty of parking in the lot and street available. The wait in line gave us the opportunity to view the menu and plan our order. We got brisket, sausage, pork sliders and 1 catfish fillet. They have inside and covered screened outdoor sitting. You place your order and pay and they bring you the tray of food. Let me tell you that all the food here is delicious. The fillet of catfish was served with hush puppies and tartar sauce, it is the BEST catfish I have ever had!! The brisket was moist with a great smoke ring. The sausage was nice and yummy. The pork sliders looked good and tasted delicious. Everything here was delicious and fresh even though it was around 7pm on Friday. The people that work here also are some of the best people you will ever meet. They represent Texas BBQ at the best. I highly recommend that you make a trip to Rejino Barbeque as the people and food are worth the drive.

Bbq sauce on the side simple and flavorful. Sides were an after thought and typical. Corn bread though... damn that's legit great cornbread in any category. Can't complain about anything I tried. Driving around Texas eating great BBQ and Tyler's Bbq in Amarillo TX is always on my list…read more Tyler's has the charm that is true Texas BBQ. They welcome people here as if everyone is family. They have a large parking lot. They have indoor and outside sitting areas. So the process here is you go through the line and place your order they start with the proteins first then the sides with bread pickles and onions last. They cut and weigh the meats in front of you so you see what you are getting on your tray. You pay at the end and you get your tray of food after a short wait. Saturday is $16.00 a lb Beef Ribs. No hold on the ribs so get there early as the beef ribs are delicious and worth getting in line early for. We got brisket which was a 10/10. We got the beef ribs some to eat there and 1 to bring home to Houston 10/10. We also got the sausage 11/10 it was spicy as we got jalapeño cheddar and the black peppercorn. We also got PORK BELLY WITH BERRY CHIPOTLE which was 10/10. Everything here was delicious and so memorable. They make their own pickles so make sure you get some of the delicious homemade pickles! We tried the potato salad, coleslaw, jalapeño cream corn and the pinto beans. All the sides were good but the cream corn was the best. I highly recommend you make a trip to Tyler's BBQ.

Lots of memorabilia to walk through and things that you could buy right now - dishes, clothes, vintage items. One large bathroom - roomy and clean with a super funny and relevant sign above the toilet. Welcomed into the place and asked if we were eating with them or was it take away. Eating In. Found the cafe part of the place stood and pondered the menu (pretty much same menu as posted in the pics) and decided what meats we each wanted on our 2 meat plate + 2 sides. Spicy sausage link with cheese, brisket, slaw and potato salad for him; ham and turkey meat for me with the beans (warned that they'd be talking later) and slaw. Each had a big slice of bread + butter and a sugar cookie. Drinks of lemonade and unsweetened tea were all you could drink and came as part of the meal. There are canned sodas and bottled Coca Cola for an extra price. I saw there was fresh coffee in the pot. All food was very delicious, fresh made, and served generous sized portions. We had so much leftovers we have a good start on tonight's dinner/supper. On the television was the Western/INSP channel with High Chaparral playing. Blast from the past. Great Wall art all over the place, and even outside on the "patio" area where there's cooking going on (spare ribs were smoking for tomorrow's customers). This looks to be a family run business with a friendly attitude. As the husband went to pay the owner-ess started to type in the credit card machine. My husband asked "Do you take cash" to which she replied "yes, we just do see it much." There ain't many a truer statement, everywhere we go it's typically the card. Husband tried to leave a tip and she wouldn't accept it. Just come on back again. I highly recommend this place as a stop over for a leisurely, friendly meal. As we left, the husband said "Nice ole folks ... Usually we have to pay for the cookie (home baked sugar cookie) and they gave it to us free as part of the meal."

As I always do I ordered the brisket burnt ends and the original sides of tater salad and coleslaw (as a honest comparison of the TX Top 50). 1lb of brisket that was the superstar of the tray as it should be. Really good flavor and an even smoke that never was offensive "mesquite bite, hickory bitterness" due to really seasoned oak wood presumably post oak. Sides were fine/traditional ACV style slaw to cut the rich brisket, maybe an egg yoke, dill tater salad that was right on the money. Over all a really good bbq representation of Texas smoked beef, not sure I'd rank 10th in the top 50 but glad to taste what others voted on anyway. I will say the condiments "raw jalapeños" and their layout was a really easy and appreciated change from other bbq joints.

The wait was a little crazy and the staff was clearly out of their element with the booming crowd, but at the end of the day, the food spoke for itself! I'm a 9th gen Texan and love my BBQ. This was the sh*t! It was some of the best brisket I've ever had, seriously. Now people will say, "what place has the best BBQ?" My immediate thought is "clearly they've never had BBQ! As there's literally no place on earth with the best BBQ." If you've eaten your fair share then you know that's a trick question. The better question is, "who has the best brisket, or ribs, or nanner puddin, or whatever." Some places are great and others suck, but no one is the best at all of it. They may be above average or even exceptional, but they will still be better at one meat than another. We had brisket, turkey, beef rib, pulled pork, mild sausage and jalepeno, along with some brisket deviled eggs. Dude! If it were Cajun food, you'd have to slap yo mama. Fortunately it's BBQ so we loosen our belt strap and when we can't eat another bite, we grab the biggest spoon we can find and eat some nanner puddin. It was solid. For sides we had potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese and collard greens. Personally, my favorite was the mac n cheese as it was creamy and tasted great, but my friends from Oregon were in TX for the first time and while she had never had collard greens, she couldn't get enough of them and literally went back for thirds. As mentioned, our friends were in from Oregon and had never been to TX not ever had TX BBQ. Shack you did us proud!
