History
Established in 2006.
The food retail market place shows strong trending toward farm gate/local as well as online shopping. Small business is looking for new business models with which to update their flagging and dated ones and small business ownership is trending upwards.
There is a consumer movement towards "small" "ethical" business practice as evidenced in the "anti-supermarket", organic and local grown, home cooking/crafts food movements.
Meet the Business Owner: stephen S.
Stephen Schmitz is a seasoned entrepreneur with a passionate and purposeful approach for better global land -use. This driving force motivated him in the mid-nineties to create the Q.A system for the Australian Merino 'SALT-BUSH DIJA" using a natural feeding regime for sheep meat. In 2006 Stephen relocated back to South Australia to the small coastal town of rapid bay and started using a mix of small-scale and local backyard growers produce in the bricks and mortar Brand, "Jetty Food Store" original base in Normanville, which distilled the success of its store by champion the unique relationship with local produce growers as an important essence of its brand and it has designed a business model, around a Co-op concept, forgetting its brand to a larger network.. Through leadership and vision, Stephen has propelled Jetty Food Store to become a community asset in delivering clean food while supporting local labour and being an education hub for healthy eating.
