I didn't have a good experience here. I went for a lash lift and long story short, I saw zero difference in my lashes after she performed the service. After I expressed my disappointment and unhappiness, The provider admitted over text she hadn't done the service before and no refunds. After I pressed her she told me to wait a week to see if I'll see a change before getting a refund (she only offered a 50% refund). A week later, no change, still unhappy but she ghosted me. I'm having to dispute the transaction with my bank now. My questions to this provider are: if you do good work, why wouldn't you stand behind it? Where's the customer service if someone is unhappy with your service but you first refuse to refund them, then ask them to wait a week for a 50% refund, then end up ghosting them. I highly recommend this place. Christina is very sweet and professional. I feel bad for changing my appointment time three times but she was very understandable and flexible, which I appreciated very much. I chose to get combobrow microblading because she told me that it's more natural and lasts longer than just microblading. When she was outlining my eyebrows, she was very precise and took her time. When she asked me if I liked her drawing, I told her that I wanted them a bit longer with a higher arch. She was honest and told me that a higher arch would not compliment my face shape. I trusted her and let her begin the actual process. She put numbing cream on my eyebrows and let it sit for ten minutes. I think the cream works wonders because I honestly did not feel any pain. I've gotten my brows microbladed at a different salon about three years ago and I remember experiencing LOTS of pain- even with their "numbing" cream. Anyways, Christina took her time drawing each strand with care. This whole process was SO FAST! I believe I was in the salon for only 45 minutes total! Christina operates in a small nail/hair salon on the lower level of the shopping center which can be easily missed if you don't know the area. Although Christina's English is minimal, she really tries to understand or have someone available to translate. My first impression of her tattooing station is clean and organized. She did a consult, drew the outline using a very precise ruler and then numbed my eyebrows for 30 minutes. I opted for the combo brow since it lasts longer and French eyeliner (with a bit of a wing on the end). The tattooing part was a bit painful but nothing I couldn't handle. At one point she noticed that I was uncomfortable and actually stopped to numb me again which I appreciated. Once Christina was done, it does look a bit dark but eventually it fades giving it a more natural look. Not only is Christina incredibly talented, her pricing model is affordable. I've wanted to microblade my eyebrows for a while, since I have blonde see through eyebrow hair. I hated watching my brows disappear when I took my makeup off at night, but microblading other places was $600+ at other microblading salons!!!! Found this place and was so happy with the price. All the other reviews/ pictures I've seen for here are Asian people. so I was a little nervous about other colors than just black brows (since I'm a dirty blonde). Christine also doesn't speak perfect English, but she was so kind and worked hard to get someone to translate if I had any questions. The first time it was done I was so happy at first- they looked so pretty! And then as they healed, a week later, it had faded to a light gray and my brows were back to see through. Womp. I was pretty upset!! The prices are cheap but not cheap enough to last for a only week! So when I went in for my touch up (which I had to reschedule and Christine was very kind about) Christine listened to what happened and did them a lot darker to make sure they stayed visible after the healing process. I recently came to Genis Studio for my mom who decided to get her eyeliner and eyebrows tattooed by Christina, and she's really happy with the results! My mom has had her eyeliner and eyebrows tattooed since she was in her twenties and has always gotten them done in Korea, but she said her experience has never been this comfortable or pain-free before, and she's never liked her results more. Christina's studio is in the back of a hair & nail salon, but don't fret! Her private room was very nice and clean, and my mom said the bed was super comfortable. I would say that if you don't speak Korean to not let this necessarily deter you. Christina seems to have other non-Korean/non-Korean-speaking clients and tries really hard to get someone she knows to help with translating. The owner of the hair salon also speaks English very well, and I would think she'd be of some help. As for scheduling the appointment, Christina is very responsive and also doesn't mind texting back and forth when you have questions! My mom opted for the combo-brow for her eyebrows which looked like a mix between microblading and tattooing, but essentially it's supposed to last longer than regular microblading. For both her eyebrows and eyeliner, numbing cream was applied first and it was very effective for my mom who didn't feel much of anything until just the last minutes as it began to wear off a bit. Christina was very meticulous and took her time to make sure the shape was exactly how my mom wanted, which was difficult considering my mom had leftover liner/brow tattoo from before that she was trying to adjust the shape of - and it came out great! Christina has many years of experience and it is really evident in the way my mom's eyes healed with very little swelling, and very little areas to touch up. I'm so happy with our adventure here and I'm considering her other services for myself like her lash-extensions which look beautiful from pictures. Would highly recommend! read more

She is good and skilled at what she does, but there was a lack of communication with post-op care and procedures. I also was skeptical that she had me come in for a touch-up only 2 weeks after my initial appt. I have a fairly high pain tolerance level. My first time getting microblading and there was barely any pain to me. But the touch up hurt like crazy, so I thought something was wrong and asked her if it's normal for the touch up to hurt more than the first time because it really really hurts? (Tears coming out of my eyes). She gave a slight chuckle and responded that some people do say the touch up hurts more. Really? That's not what I wanted to hear. She didn't seem to care that I was crying and in pain. She continued to scratch my brows with ink and said she would reapply numbing cream after she finishes this part. So I endured several more strokes of dying pain. Obviously it was still an open wound underneath my brows since I wasn't completely healed after only 2 weeks. I'm not so sure why she has people coming in after 2 weeks for touch up. I researched that most places don't do touch ups until 6-8 weeks after. Not a safe practice. You learn and you move on. Good communication and thorough explanation is crucial when getting a semipermanent procedure like microblading done. I will go somewhere else in the future when my brows need retouched. read more

Disclaimer: This review is written on behalf of my mother since she was the one who received the microblading and the eyeliner tattoo. I've been looking for a place that offers these services at a reasonable price in the area--but that can also be trusted. I lived and worked in Seoul for several years so I am very familiar with this industry, having received services from different providers there (there are a lot more places and Koreans are the ones who have really worked to perfect this service). I have also seen work from Korean providers in the NY area. Prices will vary depending on where you live-in this area the minimum price range seems to start at $500 or much higher for most places, which I think is over priced. I found Christina on both Korean and English online searches and reached out to her. Here are some bullet points of my experience with her. 1. Christina was very attentive and we texted several times to set up an appointment for my mom. She spent some time with my mom to consult w/out a guarantee that we would book an appointment--some of the other places I contacted don't take consultation appointments. If you're looking for services that show up on your face with some semi-permanence, this is REALLY appreciated and I think should be a given. 2. She is located inside a hair studio, but her room in the back and the hair studio itself is really clean, well kept and neat. Super important when you think about the good hygiene needed for services like this. 3. I was worried about the pain of receiving the eyeliner tattoo for my mom. As I mentioned, I've been to several places and they always tell you that it won't hurt, but it does. It's unavoidable because they are tattooing right above your EYES (!) (even with the numbing cream they put on). HOWEVER, Christina mentioned to us that she has serviced a lot of clients who say that it wasn't as painful with her. My mom got her eyeliner tattooed in Korea and it hurt like hell so she was totally prepared, but she said that with Christina it was genuinely bearable, so this is also a HUGE plus and win for this place. 2. It's been less than a week since my mom received the services, but she is generally satisfied with the results and my mother is very particular about this kind of stuff. The only reason why I'm not giving it a full five stars (yet) is because her eyebrows and eyeliner are just slightly imbalanced, but we both acknowledge that this is going to be a challenge given my mother's age and the way her skin sets on her face lying down verses sitting up. Neither of us are too concerned however since she is going for a follow up re-touch up session. We both feel confident that Christina will address these issues and fix them. I am definitely planning on posting a follow up quick review along with photos after the retouch up session and look forward to upgrading the rating to a full five stars after some genuine results.
