I'll give the new jewel Oslo in bensenville 5 stars for clean, organized and well put together. The flower market is beautiful , fruit department very large. It still has the same layout as the old Dominick's but that's ok because it has nice Wide isles and you don't feel trapped by other shoppers. Just don't walk behind someone that is crop dusting down the isle like I did today, lol I will shop here a few more times to see if they keep up the good work. read more

Since writing my last review, the store has improved somewhat. The self checkout lanes are almost always working and the employee there watching them is present. There are more employees in the store, which is good when you need to ask a question, and the floral department here is pretty great (I'm a floral designer and I even am enjoying it) The only drawback still is the lack of product. Several times I have looked on the Jewel Osco app for something, and it tells me this location has it, but they don't. It could be a technical issue with inventory or back stock isn't being cycled through enough. read more

HORRRIBBBLEEEEEEE! For starters I went in there this morning and there was only one cashier on duty she's an older lady with gray hair she is rude and unprofessional. I tried to purchase 3 gift cards and she told they were for too much and she couldn't ring me up I had to go to customer service. I seen a lady come from out of the office and I asked her can she ring me up and she said no, the went to self-check out then came back to the service desk to ring me up my gift cards were for $25, $100 and $50 she said she couldn't ring me up because I didn't have an ID and she got nasty with me when I said I didn't have an ID. The barristers at Starbucks are treated unfairly. I will stop going there for my Starbucks because the manager at this location decided to have only one barrister serve during the early morning hours. Customers are buying more than one drink and the wait time is horrendous. I have been in line going on 15 mins in waiting for service because of orders with more than one drink. Management need to bring more help at their Starbucks service area. read more

OMG, if I could give less than a one star i would. Tried to buy two salads today for lunch, but instead of the BIG hard plastic buckets you're supposed to put the salads in, i opted for a smaller soup cup. One, it fits in the work refrigerator, and two, it was for a one time lunch, not feeding a family. Well, the boob who called himself the DELI mgr said i couldn't do that, it needed to be in the big hard, will never break down in the dump plastic boats. What kills this jewel is the DELI !!!! You stand there and they don't even look your way. One older lady who I haven't seen in a while (thank god ) Used to give me attitude when I ask for something shaved or separate my cheese with papers. I asked the one guy to later the cheese and explained why and he gives me it in a brick He also gives you OVER A POUND when you ask for a half pound of meat. It's so convenient but I'll stick to wood dale jewel here everyone seems to love to be there. This place is attitude city. I'm really torn while writing this review. This Jewel-Osco is huge which can be great but also damning. Start out with the pros: 1. Solid location- in Dupage county. Close to home for me. 2. Lots of things to offer and some good sales.- BOGO products 3. Plenty of parking 4. Redbox outside the main entrance 5. Starbucks inside 6. Free Wifi inside. 7. TCF inside (husband's bank) 8. PNC outside (my bank) 9. 7&8 make for quick and easy transfers and transactions as needed. Our banks are not usually so close Cons: 1. Unpleasant staff and discourteous staff 2. Unorganized staff- it's one thing if you're rude and are good at your job, but to be rude and to suck at your job is a whole different ball game 3. Unhelpful staff-don't really consider that something could be ringing up incorrectly and just sort of shrug their shoulders. So I spend a lot of time and money at this location. I always see new and unpleasant faces when I come here. The things that keep me returning to this location as opposed to going to the Jewel-Osco on Lake Street in Addison is really the size of the store, layout of the store and product availability. I can almost always find what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, nearly every associate is unfriendly, except the guys in the fresh meat department. They always hook it up with great selections of whatever I'm looking for. I can't give more than 3 stars because there are so many poorly trained associates. read more

I want to give praise to Joanna who makes the Sushi in the deli! Not only is the Veggie Sushi fresh, crisp and structured so perfectly, her kindness and customer service is fantastic. The quality of our Bensenville Jewel is excellent, i have tried others and there is no comparison! FRESH is the only thing you want for Sushi! This is the worst place to shop. Went today sale items didnt say they were on sale had to double check when rang up. Got the sale price but really why isnt it advertised it said regular price Deli suck people that work here are crabs and ignore you. Have complained online in past no call and still the same. Bensenville Jewel kinda sucks. Overpriced, the employees move like they are waste deep in molasses. Just ran there to get something to munch before Bears game. Wanted to get some wings from the deli. Took a number. Only 4 customer's at deli, 3 employees behind counter. 5 minutes pass and not a single number called out. Don't see anyone being helped. 2 workers have their back to everyone, not sure what the other was doing. Not the first time I've seen this. It's like they are avoiding helping customers. I walked away, noticed a cooler FULL of fresh made guacamole. $5.50 for maybe a half pound? No wonder why this cooler is full a half hour before game time. Seem they would rather throw it away then sell it at a reasonable price. I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Aldi. I only go to Jewel if I'm in a hurry because it's closer. read more

We made our first visit to this newly opened Jewel on York Rd in Bensenville on a Sunday evening and found a nice store with friendly staff. We are disabled and the staff was very helpful in finding products. Most Jewel stores have at the most, 3 mobility shopping scooters and most don't work. This store has new scooters that work and have from what I could see 5 of them at least. I wish more Jewel stores was new or newer scooters and had more than 3. We went out of our way to go to this Jewel just because they had plenty of working scooters. I think Jewel needs to think of their disabled shoppers more and have scooters working and available in all of their stores like this store does. This store also has a large bakery and deli with great items in both. I recommend this store for their friendly staff and availability of handicapped scooters. read more

What happened to baggers? Once again I am spending over $150 on groceries and I have to bag my own. I asked where the bagger was and I was told they are outside carting, yet no carts are in the store. The cashier asked for a bagger because myself, and two people behind me had cart fulls of food. The person running the front end said there is no one. She proceed to fill bags at registers not being used and then went down to the 10 items or less register and bagged. If people are paying the higher prices they should get the service they expect. At the point if I'm bagging my own groceries I should just go to Aldi read more

I really, really like this store. I am hoping it stays this way and isn't a fluke because of it being new. I am really pleased with the variety at this particular Jewel and the friendliness/competence of its employees. Employees, from the cashiers to the pharmacy, genuinely seem to want to work here. Produce has been excellent! The dog food and treats section is much better than Mariano's. More natural/healthier choices and a larger selection. Everything is very clean and organized. Upon entering store,saw a guy I know saying he was asked for id for an alcohol purchase, this is the Bensenville location,I had at least 3 encounters with the same couple of managers involved, don't mind asking for id, making me feel young and all but I have recorded on my phone,not that I'm one of those but that same day two gentlemen before me of the darker persuasion were not even looked at, I was immediately asked for id, and when I commented on,is this a thing you're doing today I was told by the manager, now note,had nothing to drink, that I smelled like alcohol -like she's the po po , and would not check me out.Well being 55 years old things kinda went south from there,so if you wanna deal with some reverse discrimination and some evil eyed management that treat you like a white devil,do your color judged shopping at your local Bensenville Jewel location.Man if that was in reverse! read more

I grabbed prepackaged corn on the cob, the sign said 2 for 1.00 with 5 in the package. It rang up as $5. Price check said 5. I went to produce and asked the produce manager Omar about it. He said no the prepackaged is 5. Thats for individual corn. I ask where is that he said we don't have that. I said, then take down the sign. He didn't. So I did. Walked away. As I walked away he said Marianos. I said excuse me what did you say. He said, have a good day. I said no you didn't. He said, Marianos is down the street, shop there. I asked his name, he told me Omar and then asked me what my name was. I reported him to the manager. Take his advice and shop at Marianos! read more

If you have to eat Gluten Free, you are going to have a problem at this store. When they first opened, it was great for finding GF items. They recently redesigned the store and removed most of them. The GF bread section is empty when I go. But the worst is the frozen chicken section. I wanted to buy Perdue Simply Smart Gluten Free Chicken Tenders. One bag in stock and it was obviously chewed on by a rodent. Tried again, a week later and same thing. Showed the bag to employee ordering in the aisle and he said it was not his section and PUT THE BAG BACK INTO THE FREEZER. Last week, this item was Buy One, Get One Free. The GF section was filled with "Whole Grain" , not GF. I pulled all the bags out and found 1, not rodent chewed. Did not get the benefit of the sale. Went back today and guess what, the GF section was again filled with "Whole Grain." With Mariano's just down the road and Caputo's in Addison enlarging their store, they need to do better. Also as other reviewers have mentioned, no baggers and surly cashiers. read more

This Jewel is the grocery store I always go to for my fresh fish or other meats. It's always fresh, packaged, and put out properly. The store as a whole is very clean, and the bathrooms well stocked and kept. Convenient for me, it's right around the corner as well. The employees are always nice and helping when asking for a certain product I need. read more

Its the same store Domincks was. Same layout and very very similar offerings. The hot bar is nice. The sushi is below average. Marianos is far better quality but more expensive. The burrito bar leaves a lot to be desired. (dry, salty yet lacking flavor) The seating area is an after thought. Not enough garbage cans. The pricing is OK. Not great. Honestly the store looked a lot nicer when it was Dominicks. Everything looked nicer. The lighting now is so bright and it makes me feel like Im in a damn warehouse. Dominicks presented their produce better, their signage was much nicer, the colors were better. God knows who created the look of the interior but it just looks cheap and uninviting. The employees seem very nice and helpful. I know that they treat their employees far better than Marianos. I know employees from each. Bottom line is I wish they made a unique shopping experience. They just reopened up Dominicks with a burrito bar instead of a sandwich bar. The tables are half way across the store. And their seating area is painted a dark brown with dark brown furniture. Horrible colors and again.... depressing. There are no windows either. Great view of the god damn cash registers though! The Starbucks looks a bit larger now. They put in a hot bar with a pretty good selection. They failed horribly in design. They could have made this place really nice. Instead to (I'll assume) save some money they designed the food court area half-assed. Honestly just shopping for groceries was underwhelming. Caputos on Lake St is much nicer with fantastic meat prices and veggie prices. Marianos is a far more fun and upscale environment. (although their meat is very expensive) and their food court is extremely well designed, well lit and very inviting with an amazing selection. The only reason why I would return to this Jewel is for a few key items I know is always less expensive and also because they treat their employees well. But whomever was in charge of reopening this with such a half-assed design should be canned. read more

For a grocery store this one is actually not half bad. I know they rotate most of their products consistently so that things are always fresh and up to date. However, I do know that a lot of times when you are going into the store they do not have the sales items you are looking for that are in their advertisements. When you ask for assistance finding something you often times get someone who seems like they are in too much of a rush to help you out so they just point you to the aisle (instead of walking to you to the product) or they don't even know where anything is at all. They always have fresh produce but their deli is not the best. The people that work behind there are often slow and you need to yell out orders to them in order to even get attention paid to you. Meat department is very well ran, however, during holiday season they always have what you need. There are usually probably about 1.5 people for every 6 people that work there that are actually pleasant and helpful. read more

Jewel stores have really gone down in quality. We used to love shopping in their stores but lately, a lot of out dated or spoiled food. We bought egg rolls in the store packaged REFRIGERATOR section of the store, they were marked best by October 24th 2021 but when we went to open the package on September 14, 2021, they smelled rancid. We attempted to return them for an exchange or refund on September 15th, the mgr, (Darker skin toned with braids, unable to read their name tag) blatantly refused to exchange the egg rolls or issue a four dollar refund. We spend well over 450.00 a month at Jewel stores and many employees know us to see at this particular Jewel. This is no way to treat a good customer. The mgr admitted that the eggrolls should have been sold from a freezer but his employees put them in the refrigerator section. We kept them in a very cold fridge at home but had no idea to freezer them, nothing on the package indicated this. We are paying for his employees mistake. These eggrolls could have made us sick, had we consumed them. This is NOT the first time, we have bought spoiled or outdated food at a Jewel and had a hassle trying to exchange it. This however, is the first time no replacement or refund was given. Yes, it's only four dollars but it is a waste of our money, no matter how small and amount. It seems that Jewel, (since the pandemic) is selling outdated food or spoiled food and expects customers to tolerate buying bad food. There is no excuse for treating customers this way. We have been long time Jewel shoppers but not anymore. We were going to shop at Jewel after returning the four dollars item but went to one of their competitors instead. Jewel missed out on over a hundred dollars sale over four dollars, with this kind of business "logic" or lack thereof, it is no wonder they are selling old products. In this case, however, these eggrolls we're six weeks before the best by date and yet they smelled awful. We are having a hard time getting the smell out of our clean refrigerator and will likely have to throw more food out because of these smelly spoiled eggrolls. We are shocked and disappointed in Jewel's lack of customer service. We had this same complaint about six weeks ago with the Addison store and food that was sold almost three months past the sell by date. There is competition in grocery sales and I know others folks that are not longer shopping there either. So sad, they have been remodeling their stores and have a vast selection. I love the different variety that they have here, from flowers, wine, salad bar, cooked meals, last minute catering even a Starbucks . But there is one young lady in the kitchen/deli that needs to be re trained specially when handling food. She is either touching the food with bare hands, can't answer any questions regarding the products or seems frustrated if u ask for more than 1 thing. Love the store and everything they offer but unfortunately had to be serviced by this girl the last few times. read more

Went to get a few items the Pringles I was looking for were not in the chip isle walked around looking for someone to ask could not find anyone had to go to customer service counter to find them why are the in the fruit drinks slim Jims ect isle? On checking out they had one Cashier for 15 or more items and 2 15 or less items which is actually 1 because the one was also working customer service, gave the cashier my bag I brought with me, and ended up baging my own. Hope service improves or else Marios will be getting more of my business. read more

I was happy that a Jewel was finally opening right down the street from me, I always had to go to the Jewel in Wood Dale. However, this has got to be the worst Jewel I've ever been to...No matter what it is I'm looking for its always out of stock! Especially things that are on sale. The staff can never answer any of my questions. Some of the ice cream freezers have never been fixed since the Dominicks days and the ice cream (which is Edys so its expensive) is always full of frost and no good. I joined the MYMIXX and sometimes forget to enter my phone when checking out. I was told at another Jewel that if I ever do I can go to the service desk & they could take care of that for me. At this Jewel they were clueless as to how to do that without voiding my entire transaction and running it again! I will continue to trek to Wood Dale. At least the staff is competent and the store is much classier! read more

I stopped in on Wednesday 3/1 for collard greens. They were out of these in fresh and in frozen. At the deli, the guy who waited on me just walked up and stood in front of me, didn't say hello or even what can I get you?
