I was using the self checkout and apparently I typed in the wrong code for produce and this employee came up and was screaming at me in spanish when I stated I could not understand her she went over to another shopper an mumbled something in spanish and he came over and screamed I am an asshole for not being bilingual. Lately Tony's has stepped up their presence in the Chicagoland area. This location is on Mannheim in Melrose Park in a space that use to be used on weekends for a flea market. I'm happy to see that many of the Chicagoland grocers are not only increasing their locations but the quality of the merchandise in the stores. Tony's along w/Mariano's & Pete's have been stepping up stocking the stores fully and bringing better quality merchandise. The issue with no being able to call for assistance when purchasing liquor continues at Tony's Melrose park. If you need assistance you need to hunt down one of the employees however they are all busy accomplishing their given tasks. I shop there often and every time there's always an issue. I always have problems using the app when I'm checking out and always get over charged if I don't pay attention and I have talked to the manager but doesn't care and really never does anything. The guy in the deli Nicholas has really bad customer service and was really rude. Their sales items are not good deals at all because you always have to buy in big multiples to get the sale price and you have to use the app, how about senior citizens that don't know how to use it. read more

When I first came and shop at their store, I can easily find their location. It is nice place, and big. This store also has an excellent deli, and their stocks are always fresh. They are well-stocked, you find anything at their store anytime even the things that are hard-to-find. Also the daily things you need to buy anytime. They can also serve you well, with their service you can get an great experience for you to go back again and again. Tony's is an interesting supermarket. It is only good for select things. This is not my go-to market. I can count on Tony's for all of my Puerto Rican recipe ingredients. My real favorite thing here is the selection of baked goods. I pickup all birthday and celebratory cakes and cupcakes here. This is my first time at this location, and I'm gonna tell you what, it is so amazing! I was so amazed with their place, and also to the service they have. Their store is so easy to find, you can go there earlier, especially when you are nearby. This is the great place to shop and buy all of the things we need. Their deli, vegetables, and meats are always fresh. You can buy some of those in such a great prices, you can save a lot because their products has reasonable prices. They also have great sweet section, like cookies, cakes, desserts, and even breads. All of those sweets are good quality and delicious. Also the staff here are also helpful and friendly, they will guide you to the different departments of their store. They can serve you as fast as they can, all of them are very attentive. Tony's at Melrose park location is one of the worst. Early mornings there's poor costumer service in all departments, people from bakery department are very unfriendly, there's no bread and at the time asking them what time is it going to be ready they don't know and answering in a very bad mood, bakery manager is very rude with costumers. During evenings the store seems very dirty. Seems to be very busy and they only have couple cashiers and the lines are long, instead of doing their job they just keep talking with each other cashiers and people bagging. read more

This is where I prefer to shop majority of the time for a number of reasons. Number one, it's very close to my work. So I can stop right in when I need to pick up a few (or a lot) of things. Number two, variety. American, Italian, Hispanic, Asian, etc. You can find it here. Three, meat. While some people on here complain about the freshness, I personally couldn't disagree more. I find the meat very fresh when you get it from the butcher. It's the only place I buy arrachera (Mexican skirt steak) anymore. And when I need a quick meal, I enjoy buying the already seasoned al pastor or chuletas de puerco. I should also mention that they usually have some pretty good prices on liquor. Beer in particular. My only complaint really is the hot food section has become more limited, & just not as good as it once was. I used to love the Puerto Rican style rice they had. Now, I don't know what kinda rice they serve, but it's not very good. They also used to have hot flautas that I loved dearly. I miss those. They still have some decent things though. read more

I have been into Tony's Fresh Market a lot of times but it was my first time to visit this particular branch. The store is bigger than I expected. There was a lot of item that are all well organized. All of their produces looks so fresh. Items from other cultures are also available in here which is really great because I love to try different foods and ingredients whenever I cook. The staff in here are helpful and friendly. Some are also knowledgeable about the product which is really nice specially when you are undecided on buying something. There is also this sweet section where you can find cakes, baked goods, desserts and any other sweets that are all delicious and fresh. I had a bunch of items in my cart and luckily the checkout was fast. The prices of all the items and products I bought is cheaper which is really nice since I am a bit frugal. The store's app is not user friendly! You have to clip coupons in order to get an item on sale and the app takes a long time to open. It's so frustrating. Their self checkout kiosks are not worth it because they're super sensitive and you end up having to wait for an attendant to come override the item you tried to bag after scanning. I was told not to bag my items after scanning them. So where am I supposed to put my items? Their sales advertisements are MISLEADING! You think you're getting a good deal and you get to the register and they tell you it's only on sale after purchasing 3 or more of the same product. It's in small print so you don't realize it until you go to check out. I can only imagine how many people walk out of this store paying way more money than they should have. This store needs to do a better job at promoting products on "sale" and not misleading their customers! Fix their self checkout kiosks so people are not stuck waiting for an attendant to bypass a simple item being bagged and invest more technology into their Rewards app so it's more readily accessible and easy to use. Grocery baskets would be convenient as well. Not everyone is buying groceries for two weeks. I shop here frequently because of the location but I would not recommend it. Foods are more affordable here than they are at the other grocery stores. My shopping is done over five days a week so I know what the other stores have.! This store is definitely not following CDC guidelines. They make you have a mask on but once you are inside people are just standing everywhere no such thing as 6 feet apart. I have been going to Tony's Fresh Market in Melrose Park during this pandemic because they are better stocked than the Jewel in Franklin Park. Today they actually had toilet paper! The employees seem to be working hard to keep the store shelves full. There was enough merchandise in stock throughout the store. I thought, no "s^*t?" lol, but I still didn't go. So then I went shopping with my friend and she asked if I knew of a fresh produce store. Since we were on Manheim I said, yea let's try Tony's. Cha cha cha ching!! Jackpot! Yea it's a drive but well worth it. It's full of international goodies, Mexican, Italian, Asian, Indian, etc. Their deli has a good selection, I got some salami and provolone but o wouldn't know about the chicken or the steaks. They have a sea food section. The produce was very fresh. Most recently my friend went back and came across one of the best packaged tamales I have tried. So I had her get me some. I'm just saying you need to try them. Not sure if they have carnitas on the weekends but I wouldn't see why not. Tony's is at the top of my list of places to grocery shop. read more

I decided not to cook for Christmas and decided to try out Tony's Catering. I got the Italian beef and fried chicken. Everything was delicious and their service was wonderful. Incredible deli and bakery. Their deli makes THE BEST Mexican rice ever. Seriously, I have it two or three times a week for lunch. It's incredible. Their bakery makes awesome churros and conchas, alongside a myriad of (admittedly) surprisingly good pastries. Definitely wasn't expecting those from a place that seems to slant towards Mexican food. Prices here are really cheap. You can frequently get a thing of strawberries for a dollar. Aforementioned rice is only $2/pt, churros and conchas $0.80 each ($5/4). Only downside is that the checkout lines seem understaffed. Half are closed whenever I go around noon, and there's always a huge line at each register because of that. read more

This has become one of my go-to lunchmeat, meat and produce places since moving back to VP. It is a bit of a drive for me, but the prices definitely make it worth it. They have a pretty extensive bakery and deli section and the prices are pretty unbeatable! Their produce is always super fresh and, again, priced right. They also carry a bunch of Polish, Mexican, Asian and Italian items which I love! Their meat section is also huge, with a huge butchers counter with plenty of staff working behind it! If you live in the area and haven't tried Tony's..."girl you be trippin'!" JK...but seriously...try it out...you will not be disappointed! read more
