Schiller St., Elmhurst, IL). As a regular customer, I believe that employee disciplinary actions should be handled with discretion and respect. Unfortunately, I have witnessed a female store manager publicly berating employees on two separate occasions, which completely ruined my shopping experience. Incident 1: Monday, July 6, 2026 While waiting in the checkout line, I witnessed this manager speaking in a very loud, aggressive, and unprofessional tone to a young male employee. She was shouting that she was the manager, that "what she says goes," and told him she did not want to see him outside anymore. Incident 2: June 2026 Last month, I witnessed the same manager shouting down a grocery aisle at an employee, loudly warning them that they "better not be on the telephone." While I understand that employees require guidance and correction, doing so publicly in a loud, demeaning manner is entirely inappropriate. Constructive criticism and disciplinary actions should be conducted privately, not in front of a store full of customers. This behavior creates a hostile atmosphere and reflects poorly on the Jewel-Osco brand. A couple of the reviews, they talked about bad customer service for being put on hold. For those of us who have worked in a restaurant, you know sometimes it gets busy, let me tell you these guys get SLAMMED around lunchtime as they're literally the best place to eat in town for miles.
