I shop here nearly every day and the meat counters are never full there are so many pallats all over u couldnt get a cart through the other day. I go to the crystal lake store and it is like another world. meat always full frozen always full and it makes Cary store look like skid row. We have been shopping here for all groceries since 1995. Always good service. Today sole worker in deli rude, combative & argumentative. Spent $156 on groceries, but did not & will never buy from deli if she is on staff at the time we shop. A bad look for Jewel. read more

Their receipts are often not easy to understand. You need to ensure you got coupon prices if u clipped on line. Also register will charge you different (usually higher) prices. I have recently had several incidents ... discovering errors (?) & they corrected for me. I feel like I need to double check all items but not very practical & time consuming ... Great place to shop and they are open late. I'm a big fan of the fresh Gotham Greens lettuce . Spice selection is vast and always has what recipes call for. The pre cut stir fry chicken is another regular for me. Store is clean and organized. I will be found shopping at the Cary location on a regular basis. read more

Had another bad experience with Peg, she was staring at me for a solid two minutes, trying to be intimidating. It was a very strange couple minutes for me. When I asked for a manager, she pointed at the front desk area and told me to wait. Waited a couple minutes and talk to the store Director, Peg wasn't staring at me afterwards. I don't review often, but felt this couldn't go unsaid. This store is in desperate need of a new bagger! I came through their store and upon checking out the bagger, JP, threw all my feminine products in the cart unbagged. When I politely asked him to bag my feminine products he initially just stared at me. When asked a second time he rolled his eyes and proceeded to glare at me the entire time he was bagging them. I don't know what's going on in his life, but it appears he either needs better training for interacting with customers or it's time for a new job and a major attitude adjustment! read more

I stopped by last Sunday to pick up flowers for my sons girlfriend's birthday. I was so fortunate that Mary was working in the floral department that day! She was a great help to me and made sure because of the cold weather that my plant was wrapped and took the time to add the balloon and some ribbons to make the flowers and plant look terrific. Everyone loved the floral arrangement and complimented me on how beautiful it was! read more

New to Cary, glad to see a jewel nearby. Gotta say it's convenient, and staff is pretty nice, mostly, but I do work crazy hours and am unable to shop for supplies till late. I will say after 10 pm the ambiance of the whole store changes. The person in charge seems like they don't want to be bothered. Understandable? To a certain degree? Another thing ? Not jewel's fault but the people shopping at late hours give off weird negative vibes. My advice? Go before 10pm and if it's a full moon out? Don't go at all. Good luck ! read more

Had such a great experience earlier today 8/2 around 4pm that I had to compliment the women who helped us with our cake in the bakery department. She was very professional and sanitary (excused herself to wash her hands after leaving the deli) I did not catch her name, but she was so accommodating, and knowledgeable. Ok, Jewel is overpriced on everything but the sale prices are great. This store is small but often has a better variety of products than the larger Jewel stores. It's been around forever, but they keep it clean. Jewel is secretly a like a Sam's Club. The sale prices are great but often require you to buy in bulk. You want a great price on soda? They have the best sale prices around but you'll have to buy four cases to get the sale. One important exception to the great sale prices. Watch out for bogo's in the meat dept. They'll have a great buy one get two free on ribs and you end up paying what you would anywhere because that one is three times the market price. Get their app and they give away free stuff most weekends. It's good for trying something you otherwise may not. The items are hit or miss as to whether I'd ever buy them, usually miss. But it's free. Also with the app you can see the sale flyers and I get my receipts sent to my email. It helps me track what we buy. Overall I shop at Jewel for the sales, the regular prices are often crazy high. I shop the Cary location for convenience. That's enough to make it useful to me. read more

I strongly dislike the Jewel Foods phone app and Drive Up & Go services. The people are great, as helpful as they can be. But every shopping experience for months has been frustrating and disappointing due to items out of stock (after I order and pay), substitutions, order minimums (to use Drive Up & Go), and maximums on numbers of items ordered. Today's example represents the past problems: I needed 24 16 oz. Diet Snapples and 30 Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix pouches. I was only allowed to order 20 cookie mixes - maximum 20 allowed. So I ordered the 20, entered my payment info, and got an order confirmation. Then I ordered 2 12-packs of the Diet Snapple plus 10 cookie mix pouches. I paid, received order confirmation. I received a call from Jewel Drive Up saying they only had 8 cookie mix pouches, asking if they could substitute. I said no substitutions, please. When I picked up my 2 orders, I got 8 of the cookie mix pouches and one 6-pack Diet Peach Snapple, which I paid 18% more then if I purchased a 12-pack. Every time I use this service at Jewel Foods, I have multiple items canceled because they're out of stock. But I only find this out when I pick up the order. Now I try hard to avoid shopping at Jewel whenever I can, and when I shop for a few specific things, I also shop for a larger shopping list of items, along with last minute impulse buys - and I do that shopping at stores other than Jewel whenever I can because I don't like routinely receiving less than my order at pickup. read more

The one thing that irritates me is when the deli section prepackages lunch meat and places the sticker across the plastic bag's "easy open" zip lock. I know it's to prevent tampering; but when the purchaser opens the bag for the first time, the sticky label inevitably makes the bag tear and become useless. I always need to rebag the lunch meat into a new quart sized zip lock. The store should bag the meat in a zip lock bag, then place that bag into another zip lock bag onto which the safety seal can be affixed. read more

Has the stuff that you need, and it closer than any other grocery store. They also added self-checkout, which makes getting in and out really fast (especially if you only go in to get a few items like I usually do). They tend to be a bit expensive since they have no other competition in town, but that should change eventually as a second grocery store has to show up in Cary one of these days. read more
