I brought my large three-stone diamond ring to Duff's Jewelers for an appraisal. I've owned this…read morering for over 20 years and know it very well, having had it appraised before with no issues. However, when I received it back, I immediately noticed that the diamonds were not sitting correctly in their settings. My diamonds are rated VS2, meaning they're nearly flawless and have exceptional clarity. When I looked at the ring from the side--as I always have--I could see that all three stones were no longer seated all the way down in the setting as it had been before. I raised my concerns several times, but the woman at the counter dismissed me repeatedly and insisted that nothing was wrong. She took me to the back to look at my ring but oddly insisted I only view it from the top, not the side, which made me uncomfortable. I tried to look at the ring myself using their alligator clip, but it was very difficult to handle such a large ring that way. I eventually took my ring back and stated that I would seek another opinion. I went immediately to another jeweler in Keller, who confirmed that my diamonds were not properly set and that one of the platinum prongs had been soldered. It was plainly visible and not consistent with the original craftsmanship. This experience left me very disappointed and concerned about how my ring was handled. I would strongly advise anyone seeking an appraisal or repair not to go to Duff's jewelry store. As Denise stated in her review below these people are shady and shouldn't be trusted. I should have never left my valuable ring in their care.

I stopped by with my girlfriend to look at rings, and when we walked in, she did not feel comfortable and didn't want to stay. After I had exchanged a few words with the salesman, I too did not feel comfortable nor wish to continue the interaction. Another customer walked in, and after a brief moment, the salesman excused himself to go address the new customer. My girlfriend and I took that opportunity to gracefully exit and try to do so discreetly. This is when I realized we were locked in the store. The salesman had a key-fob that unlocked the door when a customer rang the doorbell, and in order to leave, he had to be the one to let you out. Unfortunately, I had to get the salesman's attention in order to leave. He asked if we were done talking with him, and after my "yes", he said, "well, before I let you out, do you want to come over here and get a business card?" Immediately, I felt trapped inside this store, wanting to leave gracefully and discreetly, but I couldn't. Let me be clear. I do not appreciate being locked in a store and not being able to protect my woman (even by simply leaving the building) when she feels uncomfortable or threatened. I have absolutely no intention of returning. I will add, before we went to this place, we went to Duffy's Jewelry, and had an absolute 10/10 great experience. They were very pleasant, professional, and extremely kind and knowledgeable. Both my girlfriend and I felt very comfortable in there, and to be honestly transparent, I truly want to give them my business. I recommend you do the same.

I was impressed by the fact that both the Cartier and Michele pieces were priced at market rate, ranging anywhere from $475-1350 (the Diamond Tahitian Chronograph by Michele being one of the ultra top-end pieces). While I searched for a timepiece that would complement my collection of Tag Heuer and Omega watches, I didn't feel pressured or cornered to make a decision by the sales professional. For the lady, I looked for a diamond solitaire piece for our upcoming 10-year anniversary. There were a few jewelry pieces that looked fantastic when it came to color, cut & clarity, yet it didn't seem to be "the one." Nonetheless, I was invited to return once more summer stock arrive by the sales professional. In giving Markham immediate business in getting a watch battery replaced ($25), I found this cost to be somewhat reasonable, considering that my usual place in Allen (30-40 minutes away) wasn't where I wanted to be in paying much less. Further, no other stores in Fort Worth (other than a jeweler) would replace the battery due to product liability. Certainly good to know. The first time I brought the ring in was for an initial downsize. For whatever reason, they had trouble finding the location of the ring when I arrived to pick it up. Eventually they found it but it took questions and searching information. Roughly 2 months ago I brought the ring back in to be polished before our wedding. Yet again, they could not find the ring when I arrived for pickup. The associates had to discuss among themselves and try to figure out which "repair individual" had received my ring. 5 days ago I brought it in because the gold had bent, and I simply wanted it to be reshaped and polished. This was the worst event yet. While I had been told that I could simply bring my ID in for pickup, today that did not suffice. They couldn't find the ring anywhere in the shop. There were four associates communicating, making calls, asking questions, searching jewelers workspace and still it was nowhere to be found. Layla came out and told me that while they knew the ring was in the store, they couldn't find it. Absolutely gutted. There was a mix of answers. One answer was that the ring hadn't been entered into the system since May (over 3 months ago). This was where I panicked, they were essentially telling me there was no trace of my ring. I was also asked if I was at the right jeweler. I assured them I absolutely was and that my husband had customized my ring with Robert himself. I was also told the jeweler who received my ring for work never submitted a work order receipt for it, and it wasn't able to be tracked. All within a span of 30 minutes. Hoping and waiting Soemone would stumble across my ring. One of the associates was calling jewelers and asking what was done with the ring or if they'd had it. After I left, promising to bring back the receipt , the ring was found. I came back and Layla apologized profusely. Layla did a wonderful job communicating and problem solving and I believe she's the sole reason my ring was found. However, having met with Robert and seen his wonderful mannerisms and professionalism, I was disappointed to have experienced so much hardship for simple jewelry adjustments. Their work is beautiful and they have a very kind staff. None of this however matters if jewelry and precious sentiments are lost. Not only have I had to call every single time to check on my jewelry, as I was never reached out to for pickup, my ring would sit there for days after completion as I waited to receive a call that it was ready. Robert has a beautiful business going and wonderful products. I hate to see it overshadowed by confusion and possibly carelessness with precious items. I do plan to continue buisness and Buddha's more jewelry with Markham Fine Jewelers moving forward, but would like to feel confident in knowing that my items are left in safe hands. Again, this review is solely based on the three separate instances I've encountered with their customer service. The quality and selection of jewelry is beautiful. This truly is a beautiful business and all customers deserve service of equal quality to what Robert exudes.
