I brought my large three-stone diamond ring to Duff's Jewelers for an appraisal. I've owned this ring for over 20 years and know it very well, having had it appraised before with no issues. However, when I received it back, I immediately noticed that the diamonds were not sitting correctly in their settings. My diamonds are rated VS2, meaning they're nearly flawless and have exceptional clarity. When I looked at the ring from the side--as I always have--I could see that all three stones were no longer seated all the way down in the setting as it had been before. I raised my concerns several times, but the woman at the counter dismissed me repeatedly and insisted that nothing was wrong. She took me to the back to look at my ring but oddly insisted I only view it from the top, not the side, which made me uncomfortable. I tried to look at the ring myself using their alligator clip, but it was very difficult to handle such a large ring that way. I eventually took my ring back and stated that I would seek another opinion. I went immediately to another jeweler in Keller, who confirmed that my diamonds were not properly set and that one of the platinum prongs had been soldered. It was plainly visible and not consistent with the original craftsmanship. This experience left me very disappointed and concerned about how my ring was handled. I would strongly advise anyone seeking an appraisal or repair not to go to Duff's jewelry store. As Denise stated in her review below these people are shady and shouldn't be trusted. Service was unmatched here. I wouldn't go anywhere else after shopping at Duffs. Mike and Leila both were very patient and helpful to me. They had a wide selection and even a custom sample box to look and try on any style of ring. They offer lifetime cleaning with purchases from what I understand. So, anyone who knows me knows I don't do well with shady. I like things to be up front and honest. First, I got my quote for a lobster clasp I was told they could not repair. It was 147.00 plus tax for just the clasp . Ok. I've had the chain and cross since I was 23 years old. I am 60 now. I want it repaired correctly. When they go to print out my pick-up receipt, it says 1599.00 dollars. No, mam. My quote was for 159.00. I made her print out a new puck up receipt. This matters when I go to pick up.Fast forward to picking up a chain that has been repaired 6 days later. I go in with my pick-up receipt and get shown the chain. There was still a little of my hair on the chain, so I know it wasn't cleaned well. In the past, it was a common courtesy for the jeweler to clean what they had repaired. Well, they go to ring me up and say it's 169 and some change. I go, no. It's 159.00 on my pick-up sheet. She says tax. Nope . Tax is one here already 12 bucks plus change. She's like getting alittle sassy and I'm like nope . You quoted me 159. You didn't give me back my broken lobster clasp. I'm giving you 159.13 and that's it. So. Long story short. I won't ever go there again. I don't like that. read more

I honestly spent a few day's waiting to write this review after leaving Duff's. I had a good experience when getting my watch repaired. Consequently, I thought I would have a good experience trying to get a design a custom ring for my anniversary. From the moment I walked in the building I was made to feel"2 inches tall"(by there looks and a lack of response in basic customer service ) I honestly should've walked out right away because she could barely take her eyes off of her screen and engage in some sort of quizzical nature(kind of her job). When I asked questions with what she could help me design (diamond information,setting so on..)she seemed bored and inconvenienced with the topic. l looked online at what the big chain stores and other online retailers were offering, but none of them had anything unique and special for my wife for our wedding anniversary. So, I decided to try a local place instead and I'm so very pleased that I did. As soon as I walked into Duff's I was greeted and felt instantly welcome. The salesperson, Ailen, was very friendly and was able to almost instantly provide a perfect suggestion, a pair of adorable yellow and white 14K gold sunflower earrings (my wife loves sunflowers). If I could leave ZERO stars, I would! I took a charm to be gold plated. They did not give us any care instructions and we were so excited, of course we didn't think to ask. I took the charm to be soldered to another jewelry store and before they were going to solder it, they started to polish it but saw that the plating was coming off. They immediately called me and told me the issue and I picked it up and called Duff's and left a message since they had already closed for the day. Carmen, the manager, called and left a message. I called her back. She didn't sound very apologetic but rather condescending as if I am supposed to know I can't polish a gold plated charm. I'm not a jeweler, and I wasn't given any care instructions, how am I supposed to know? It is supposed to be real gold plated over silver, I wouldn't have known I can't polish it! She said to bring the piece in and "they'd go from there." So I did the next day. She didn't even bother speaking to me in person. (I've been in management for over 15 years, and that's not how you treat customers). She told the girl up front to tell me that it was the other jewelry store's fault and that they should know better. Um, well, if Duff's had simply given us care instructions, then I would have be informed on how to take care of the charm!!! Yeah, it's Duff's mistake and they won't take ownership. The "best they can do" is re-plate it and charge me half of the original price. That's not good enough. Poor customer service. Poor guest relations. My Christmas present is ruined. Top notch customer service. I had a general idea of what I wanted but felt a little intimidated to shop for jewelery since I don't do it very often (who does?) The folks here were very nice, patient in showing me different options aligned with what I was considering while pointing out how they differ. I have been to the Keller location several times and always walk out wondering why I gave them another chance. The main sales lady (I'm assuming as she's the only one who gets up to help) could not have worse customer service skills. She is extremely condescending in her tone and has the rudest manner about her. I've gone in several times, looking at different pieces, but walk out every time without having bought anything. I try to always support small business, but in their case, I would not give them a penny. I have found what I was looking for online each time. I got online to see what their reviews were like and to see if I was the only one that felt this way. There are a few others and frankly I'm shocked there are not more bad reviews. Maybe people do what I normally do, walk out and don't take the time to leave a review. I was looking for a jeweler to replace the battery on my Tag Heuer watch. They were able to do it in under a week and it's completely sealed. I cannot say how happy I was as the jeweler I purchased it from said they needed to send it to Tag Heuer for battery replacement and the turnaround time was going to be ~8 weeks. I brought in a necklace with a lot of sentimental value that I knew would be a bit tricky to repair, hoping it could be repaired by the next day. The woman who helped me (I didn't catch her name) asked me to leave it with her so she could try to find a solution. I was feeling a bit disheartened because I didn't think it would be reparable, especially not by the time I needed it. However, she was able to come to a very nifty solution and repaired my necklace within 15 minutes or so! She cautioned me that she wasn't sure how long the repair would hold, and, because of this, didn't charge me for her service. I can't recommend Duff's Jewelry enough. They made an incredibly difficult situation so special and I will tell everyone who will listen about my experience. My mom told me a few months ago that she would love a Mother's ring to reflect her two daughters and her grandchildren's birthstones. I got the devastating and unexpected call to come say good bye to her and felt so heartbroken that I was never able to give her the gift she had always, but secretly, wanted. We were on the hunt for wedding bands. Our jeweler who created my engagement ring admitted he outsources his wedding bands. Next, I tried a chain of jewelry stores. There, I was very unimpressed with both the prices and lack of selection as well as feeling like I was being pushed into the sales process, which made that a definite no for me. I also looked around online and found a good choice, but didn't want to order something until I could see it in person. That's where Duff's came in. The minute we walked in we were greeted with a smile. Carmen took care of everything very quickly and was very professional. I highly recommend Duff's Jewelry in Flower Mound. Their customer service is top notch. They treat you like family from the minute you walk in the door. My first experience with them was about a year ago when I had lost the back to one of my diamond earrings that my mom had given me. I happened to be in the area & decided to stop in to see about getting a new back. I was greeted by Kari who was so genuinely sweet. She went to the back & brought back a new one & checked to see that it fit. I asked how much & she said no charge. I was so impressed & I knew in that moment that I would be back to see about getting my Mom's anniversary band re-done. Well, it took me about a year to finally get around to it. My mom passed away a little over two years ago & she had given me an anniversary band that she was never really in love with, mostly because it was kind of a masculine setting. She kept telling me to take it somewhere & have it made into something I would wear & get use out of. But I had no clue what I wanted. I decided that I would take in her ring, as well as my original wedding set & a couple pieces of my grandmothers jewelry to see what they could come up with. I had decided that I wanted to design a whole new wedding set. Zach greeted me this time & was just as pleasant to deal with. He was so patient & caring throughout the whole process. He came up with a few ideas & sent it to his designer. A few days later he sent me the CAD pictures & it was perfect! After a few more days Zach called to tell me my rings were ready. When I put them on, I literally started to cry. They turned out better than I ever could have imagined! My rings are SO beautiful & have so much more meaning now that they are a mixture of my original wedding set, my mom's ring & my grandmothers stones. I will be forever grateful to Duff's & specifically to Zach & his patience with me while we figured out what to do. I can't recommend Duff's enough.
