I inherited my mother's diamond engagement ring & diamond insert in 2003. I was encouraged by my sisters to have it re-set into something I would be able to wear. For all these years, i hesitated, not knowing what i would want (ring, necklace?) or if the expense would be too much. Recently, i came to realize that i was doing a disservice to the sentimental value of the set & decided i would finally have it re-set. I was recommended to Alex, by some aquaintances who had beautiful pieces created by him. i gathered all my pieces of gold (with small diamonds in most) along with my mother's rings & went to have a necklace made. Alex & I spent some time talking about the pieces i brought & exchanged ideas about what would showcase the diamond, best. He got a general impression of my taste, i.e., geometric vs. flowery, etc. The design he sketched, using all the diamonds of old rings, necklaces etc., & my likes & dislikes, was EXACTLY the unique piece i was looking for. I have a gorgeous, one of a kind ,crescent moon necklace of diamonds with a dangling "star" diamond.. the bale is a cluster of diamonds as well. Alex is a talented, personable & creative jeweler. Alex is an incredibly talented jeweler and wonderful to work with. My 25th wedding anniversary was approaching and I had told my wife to find a ring she liked. Over the course of several weeks she looked and found nothing that "wowed" her. I took our anniversary off to spend the day together and I took her to Alex to see if we could find her something. In 5 minutes she found a beautiful multi-strand diamond band (with white and pink diamonds) that he had made and fell in love. Luckily for me he's also reasonable and I could still afford dinner after we were done. He won't let you do anything that is not to your advantage when it comes to turning jewelry in, redoing a piece or purchasing a new piece. He honestly cares that you make the right smart decision. I have been dealing with Alex for many years and I have always been very happy and satisfied with pieces he has designed for me. He is extremely talented and very creative in designing new pieces by using your existing pieces to create a more updated look in a bracelet, necklace or earrings. Recently, I had seen a set of rings that I loved in a magazine. Alex was not only able to create the rings for me, but I got to choose the color of the stones and add diamonds that were from a piece I no longer wear. Alex is easy to work with. I stopped by with several old pieces for repair and cleaning... I told the owner how my wife never wore them anymore and he suggested taking the diamonds out and designing a whole new necklace out of 2 old ones. He designed a new one-of-a-kind "Halo" pendant using all the old diamonds and a round Sapphire from an older ring she had. My wife was excited and wears the new pendant all the time. I cannot believe we got to "recicle" our old jewelry and got a new expensive custom piece made for next to nothing! Ask for Alex. He designs and makes custom pieces right in his shop. I lost my wedding ring. And needed a replacement Right away. My wife had a replica but obviously in The wrong size. So I brought it to Alex the owner Who resized it to fit the same day.
