I recently graduated from USC and wanted to celebrate this life achievement with a nice watch. I had been researching different options for a while and I decided on getting a Tag Heuer. (Fun sidenote, Obama had decided on a Tag Heuer watch when he finished Law school in the 90s.) I had heard great things about Jewelry Pavilion at the Blocc, so I reached out to them regarding watch models that I was considering. Since graduating, I have moved out of LA but I travel back here often, so I decided to contact Jewelry Pavillion. At first, I communicated with Jewelry Pavilion by email and phone. Andrew, Moses, and Kai were very helpful and super knowledgeable, so I decided to visit the store in person to try on some watches. After seeing the watches in person, I was ready to purchase one. Moses made sure to size and fit the watch perfectly for my wrist, taking into consideration the winter season and how the watch would fit my wrist in the summer season. He also gave me comprehensive instructions on how to set the date and time, as well as how maintain an automatic watch. The store location is in a nice shopping center in DTLA. When I walked in asking if they had women's Cartier watches they said they did in the back. I know a fair amount about Cartier and what watch I knew I was after. The man who helped me was not very personable and treated me like I was a waste of time. Then he proceeded to show me the watches he had all of which were quite old Cartier's. The Jewelry Pavilion fits right in with the new huge transformation of the Macy's complex in downtown Los Angeles. They have a great selection of mid-range watches that range from Movado to Luminox. They also have an outstanding selection of Mont Blanc pens including collectors items all the way down to the basic Meisterstuck. In the back they have a beautiful selection of jewelry. I met with the owner, I'm sorry I forgot his name, and he explained they were there before the transformation and just now getting the doors back open. This is a wonderful place: a small jewel of a repair shop tucked away behind "glassware" on the top floor of Macy's Plaza downtown. Stacy (whom I met) and Gigi run the place. Stacy was warm and courteous, quite knowledgeable and enormously quick and efficient. I had several items of smaller consequence that she took care of right away, and then I left my grandmother's engagement ring with her for cleaning and so that she can check the prongs for security. Sometimes, living downtown, i find that people have an old-fashioned, service-oriented courtesy and competence that is rare these days. This is surely the case for Jewelry Pavilion. I couldn't be more pleased, nor recommend them more highly. Note: take public transit (which is plentiful), since going up the parking ramp at Macy's Pavilion is absurdly torturous. read more

Great service for a good price. They adjusted my watch band to take a few links out. Then I needed one put back in. I couldn't quite get it to feel comfortable, so I asked them to make repeated adjustments, and they did. I fully admit that I was being a pain. I was picky because I wanted it just right, and they were patient with me. I was very appreciative. Then a phone call came in and they told the person on the phone to call later because they were with a customer (me). Again, that was very cool of them and I appreciate that level of customer service. I paid $8 and left. Then I realized an hour later that I needed one more slight adjustment.
