I stumbled upon him while I was in the building meeting with a different company who showed me some of the worst diamonds I've ever seen and tried to convince me that they were pretty. Eli knew exactly what I meant when I asked for a beautifully symmetric diamonds and not crushed ice. We vibed right away. He has great taste and knows what a beautiful diamond looks like from an ugly one. Because let me tell you, there are a lot of ugly diamonds out there and there are many brokers who will try to convince you that they're pretty! I also really appreciated that he didn't ask what my budget was like so many other places. He focused on finding me not one, but two perfectly matched pairs of diamonds for studs. All of the other places wouldn't show me more than one pair. And you know what? I took both pairs because they were both so perfect I couldn't let them go! Other places told me it was impossible to find 2 old mine cushion cut matching diamonds but Eli did it. And he did it in like 2 days! He called me and kept me updated. When he showed me the diamonds he was super patient as I studied each one. There was never, at any point any sales pressure. Extremely disappointed with Eli's Jewelry. I previously purchased an engagement ring from them, and one of their main selling points at the time was a guaranteed upgrade policy: if I ever chose to upgrade the ring, they would credit me the full amount I originally paid toward the new purchase, which would need to be at least double the value of the current ring. Fast forward to now, I returned expecting them to honor that promise. Unfortunately, Eli stated that they no longer honor that policy, saying that "things have changed." To me, a business is only as good as its word. This wasn't an attempt to get something for nothing--the new ring I was planning to purchase would have still cost an additional $8,000-$10,000, which I was fully prepared to pay. Instead, I was offered only about one-third of what I originally paid for my ring. What makes this even more disappointing is that other jewelers--where I wasn't even a repeat customer--were willing to offer me over half of what I paid. Sadly, I expected much better from a business I had trusted with such an important purchase. read more

The studs were 1.0 carat each and was exactly what I hoped for. Since it was also my wedding anniversary, my husband bought diamond earrings for me as well. I met Eli many years ago through a close friend who had been a customer for years because her father had been a customer for years. He is the best! Honest, Patient, Personable, Kind and Never Pushy! Most of his clients are repeat customers and referrals from friends, like myself. Once I met him, I knew when I found my forever person, Eli, would be my diamond man. He did not disappoint at all. I made an appointment, flew from San Jose to LA and spent over 2 hours with Eli. He walked me through the entire process. He explained all the "C's", he patiently showed me the difference between the levels of each "C" in real time. Using numerous diamond examples for side by side comparison. We went through an untold number of settings before I choose my wife's specific setting. We had discussed cut, rating and budget, so Eli had a really good idea of what I was looking for when I came to decide. That day, we started off with at least six diamonds. I was able to immediately eliminate three, then got down the last diamond. It was gorgeous, sparkled but I wasn't "in love" with it. I mulled it over, thinking, something in my gut was saying this wasn't the one. While I was doing this Eli, said, "Tim hold on, I have one more here in the safe. Let me get it out and see what you think". The instant I saw the diamond I knew that was the one for my wife's engagement ring. It completely blew the other diamond away, it leveled up for sure!!! It's been a while, but I wanted to give an honest review of the service, and product, I received. I first came into Eli's around October 2015. They were with other customers, so I browsed while waiting. Note 1: I read several complaints of this perfectly reasonable behavior. I suppose it is a matter of taste, or preference, but as a customer I prefer the attention not to be redirected every time a new customer arrives or the phone rings. Once you have their attention: you have their attention and they attend to you. This attitude is preferable to fawning over whatever new punter walks through the door. Eli waited on me. He asked why I was there (engagement ring), price range (reasonable: 1.5 - 1.9 carats, but cut an clarity and color over carats). We looked at a several in their database. He explained pros and cons, brought up a couple of examples, I chose one. He then handed me off to Raffi, his brother - the artisan who oversees the design and production. Every step of the way, Eli, Raffi, and their mama explained, educated, and gave advice. Before I went in, I checked basic prices of diamonds and settings on the online sites like Ritani and Blue Nile. Eli's prices were reasonable, by comparison, and they had, obviously, more personal service and customization. How much was it? A lot. It's an engagement ring. Right? Note 2: Let's set aside as given the typical rhetoric concerning being slaves to consumerism/conspicuous consumption, monkey hierarchies, envy, and various forms of compensation (or over-compensation). We live in the time and place we live. Diamonds and pearls and gold and platinum and skilled labor cost money. Are the prices inflated at the retail level? Probably. What isn't? The rock you place on your wife-to-be's hand says a few things: a) you care for her; b) you took the time to seek out and choose a permanent piece of jewelry that suits her; c) you have the income and/or credit that indicates your ability to provide; d) you don't have a decision making disorder. So. They let me pay over a couple of months. They made me a beautiful ring with the best stone I could afford. They were personable, helpful, and gave excellent service. I liked them all very much. Take away: This is a solid choice for your high end diamond related jewelry needs. Be a man and pick out your fiancé or wife or girlfriend's rings and jewelry on your own, but don't be a afraid to let professionals (Eli and family) give you advice.
