While their prices are lower than a certified Rolex service center, I wouldn't trust my expensive timepiece to them. Less than 2 years after having a repair done by them on a Rolex Submariner, I'm having issues again. I'm now taking it to a certified center as I don't trust that they are servicing it correctly. Had a great experience today. I had brought Jabbar and the folks at ABC Watchwerks my favorite watch, which I had dropped. Today I got it back and it is beautiful and running perfectly. They are not only excellent watch repair people, they are also very nice human beings. It was also great fun to go to Downtown Los Angeles and the Jewelry District. I took 3 watches to them in early July - antique Omega, and my wife's Cartier and Chanel watches. Not exactly haute horologie but what needed servicing. It took them 6 weeks to get me just the estimate. I called every week for an estimate. In mid August I finally got the estimates and authorized work. They didn't complete work until today Sept 19. And even when I got there they made me wait 30 minutes! They never committed to a date for either the estimate or repairs. They're in the precision fixing business but certainly lack precision delivery. I took a watch for service 2 years ago at the recommendation of the watchmaker at BH Omega and was happy then. But I'm hard pressed to explain the utter breakdown in service this time. I withheld having them service my Rolex just to see how things would turn out. I ended up taking it to 4 Crowns instead. I've used them before as well. Shant opened up the watch right then and there and estimated how long it would take (10 days). Ps. I see I'm the only one who has not posted a 5 Star so I'm sure the review will be received as a crazy's rant. But I own a dozen watches ranging from cheap Gucci to platinum VC chrono so I've dealt with a lot of watch merchants and repairs. Really didn't want to post this negative review because Alex seems like a nice guy but thought buyer should beware. read more

I've just had the most horrible customer service experience with ABC Watchwerks. I dropped off my prized Omega and was told I'd get an estimate in 2 days. A week later I'd heard nothing. They didn't ever answer the phone. They never returned any voicemails or emails. Just total silence. I had to drive all the way back and physically demand my watch be returned. And even then I got a whole song and dance about how it's stuck in the safe and nobody can open it... It took a half hour visit just to get my watch back. Still not looked at. Still not repaired. I've wasted a week and gotta go somewhere else. I'd strongly advise against bringing your valuables here. Something is definitely off about the way they're running their business. read more

I inherited a Rolex Datejust from a family member a few years ago. It wasn't in the best of shape, but was still running. After doing a ton of research about getting it restored, I decided to take it to ABC Watchwerks in Downtown Los Angeles. The guys are truly amazing. Beau took one look at it and told me that it was made in 1963 due to the underline on the watch face along with the arrow shaped hands. I received an estimate of the work from Edvi and decided to go forward with it. After 7 weeks, I got the watch back and am very pleased. ABC Watchwerks did the following: * Movement service/overhaul * Replace crystal face * Replace balance staff * Replace bracelet with a period correct Jubilee bracelet * Refinish watch case to match "new" bracelet I would highly recommend ABC Watchwerks if you have a nice watch you want serviced or restored. The guys there are very nice, answered all my questions, and just did an awesome job with it. Alright, let me cut right to the chase: The guys at ABC Watchwerks are the absolute best! And needless to say, the restoration/detailing work they recently completed for my Rolex is nothing short of PHENOMENAL! (Check out the before and after photos of the silver Oysterdate with the blue dial). After much online research, ABC has unanimously been praised as the definitive Rolex repair and restoration shop anyone this side of the Pacific should even entertain going to. Their top-floor shop in Downtown Los Angeles' jewelry district is rather nondescript. And the moment you enter the door, you'd think you just entered the waiting room of a dental office. But things more or less will take a 180 turn as either Alex or Edvi will come out of one of two internal doors to kindly greet you and ask exactly what you're in for. Alex is the expert in all things Rolex, and was able to immediately identify mine as a 1960's era Oysterdate. Edvi, also equally knowledgable, was the primary person who took care in evaluating and eventually processing my order. I was told right out front what the price point would be for their standard restoration work (which after shopping around from Downtown to the Westside, ABC's pricing was actually reasonable). My Oysterdate was essentially in need of a new factory Rolex crystal, a worn gasket replacement (added on initial estimate), timing and pressure adjustments and a complete refinishing of all surfaces on the case and bracelet. After roughly two weeks, Edvi called that the watch is ready, and picked up the piece later that day and staying to talk to him way past closing time. As expected, the watch looked practically brand new, and I didn't imagine it would ever be restored to this level. What was even more impressive is when Edvi explained further the steps that took place, what was eventually done to meet specs, and then complimented me on what a nice watch it was. I couldn't agree more. I was very, very pleased. Definitely money well spent. Without hesitation, give Edvi or Alex a call. Whether you simply need an estimate or are ready to go full speed with a restoration or complete overhaul of your vintage or newer model Rolex, the guys at ABC Watchwerks will take care of you hand to foot. I met Alex approx. 9 years ago in passing at a Starbucks in Woodland Hills where he gave me his card. I already had 2 Roly's at the time; (a 1994 Sub and an 2006 Explorer II); so I really wasn't in the market to buy a watch as i was happy with the 2 i had; but for some reason i kept his number in my phone. Fast forward to about 2 months ago i was thinking of selling both my watches to get a Pre-owned GMT II. So selling is always a hassle on ebay as i needed the perfect storm to sell both my watches at the same time; to then be able to buy the GMT II. So I thought of Alex, I called him out of the blue; (9 yrs later) He was shocked i still had his contact info and was very please that i called. So i told him what i needed and he told me what he could give me as credit towards a new watch or straight out cash for my watches (it was my choice) I opted for the trade, so he said he would keep an eye out for a GMT II i wanted. We negotiated a little and finally came to a very fair and equitable trade value based on what he would find me.... So he calls me yesterday tells me he found a GMT II that was pre-owned only 1 month old basically NEW and $1250 under current retail prices.. with a 2 year warranty!! So i said DEAL. Alex drives an hour in traffic to from his office in Downtown store to Woodland hills to meet me and accommodate my schedule to deliver my new watch personally and the agreed cash for the difference in cash in $100 dollar bills for the 2 watches i traded. Ironically where we me today was 2 blocks from where we originally met 9 years ago!! (Sorry, I love Irony). We met and spoke about how long ago we met yada yada yada..bla bla bla. and how things happen for a reason. He fits the watch to my wrist and presto..I'm a new member of the GMT II club..!! I'm soo happy i kept his number and would recommend anyone looking for a Rolex to call Alex. ......P.S.he also agreed to take my Eilux Dual Watch winder and keep it at his store to sell for me as a courtesy to me and give me the proceeds of the sale of it. again, I'm not an ebay fan. I took my mid-80s Vintage Rolex DateJust to ABC Watchwerks a few months ago for a full servicing and polish after reading a lot of great reviews on a forum. And I am very glad I did as they did an excellent job on my watch at a very fair price. Just a few days ago though the crystal on my Rolex got very badly scratched through my own carelessness. Being so pleased with my previous customer experience, today I brought my watch into Alex at ABC at Watchwerks to replace the crystal. After inspecting my watch, Alex thought it might be possible for him to simply buff out the scratches. And to my surprise that is exactly what he was able to do - and at no charge! Never had any work done but sensed that the watch was not functioning properly. Did my due diligence and found these fine folks. Because it was my very first time getting my watch serviced and not knowing what to expect, I was very reluctant. I e-mailed ABC and received a response from Aaron within a few hours outlining all the things I should expect and an estimate for said services. ABC has serviced two of my Rolex watches(1665 and 16660) without missing a beat. I have been collecting for over 20 years and have used a handful of watchmakers over the years and these guy's passion for watches is both genuine and contagious. Their level of customer service and commitment to providing quality work is second to none. I'll share a story that illustrates what I am talking about: A month ago I in the pool with my kids wearing my 1665 for an hour or so on a Sunday. When I got home I noticed that moisture had collected right under the middle of the crystal. I went ahead and opened the crown to help speed up the evaporation of the water, but after a few hours it was in the same state. This is not the first time that a vintage Rolex I owned had a leak, but this was the most serious one I had ever personally experienced. I took it that Monday and within 10 minutes Alex had diagnosed the problem... the crystal had hairline cracks. No worries it was the original 15 year old Rolex service crystal, so they replaced it with one of their super doom ones to give it that more vintage look. While they had the watch Alex noticed that the helium value bracket was a bit weak, so informed me it might come back to bite me later in the near future. This is where the "commitment to providing quality work" comes in... he said that because he already had the watch movement out he would only charge me for the part and not the labor. Most watchmaker only do the bear minimum needed to get the watch back out ASAP only for the owner to come back because something else failed. He felt so bad that I would have to wait another couple of days and come out to downtown LA again that he scheduled time in the evening to personally deliver it to me after the watch was serviced.
