I had high hopes for this place and was sorely disappointed. I came because they have so much experience with Asian hair. A normal women's haircut took one hour and 23 minutes. Jeff Asked me to wait several times while he worked on someone else's hair, which is why it took so long so my family was sitting there waiting for me. I wanted to keep the length but they cut off at least 2 1/2 inches. The cut itself was bad. I have wavy hair. The way he cut it looks terrible after a wash which tells me they don't know how to cut wavy course Asian hair.. They also don't give you a mirror to show you the back of your hair. When I got home, I noticed that when he texturized my hair and took weight out of it, he took out a heavier chunk on one side than the other. Will never go again. read more

This was my first time at JF Hair Studio, but this is now my go-to salon! My requested color was hard to pull off because my hair was bleached, box-dyed, and all kinds of shades, but Grace and Jeff gave me exactly what I wanted. Grace gave me hair suggestions and tailored the experience to my wants. My hair was already damaged from frequent dyeing, but Grace prioritized my hair health with hydration treatments. Even if you don't speak Chinese, there are some English speakers who can translate for you. Everyone was super friendly and helpful; you can tell that they truly care about making you look beautiful. I would give a zero if I could. Didn't listen to my instructions, didn't emulate the photo I brought. Even after I said to not use shearing scissors on my hair went crazy with them on my hair. My hair is thick and the ends are so thin now. It's the worst to do on curly/wavy hair it's just going to make it frizzy. And I specifically said not to. I haven't cried so hard after a hair cut since I was 10. The face framing is so short. Doesn't know how to do layers. Everything is patchy. And to compensate for the lack of knowledge about layers he use shearing scissors everywhere. Didn't use heat protectant and used a straightener and dryer. I could smell my hair burning. I am so so sad. It's going to take so long to try to grow out my hair again. He cut it so short I can't even put it up in a claw clip. If you can't communicate with customers at least be good at cutting hair and understanding hair texture. He just did whatever. read more

Probably the best hair cut I've received in my entire existence. I set an appointment at 7:00pm and was seen right at 7:00pm, staff was welcoming and friendly upon entering. I loved how everything was black grey and white. Got shampooed and showed the hair dresser a picture of what I wanted and how much I wanted cut off. He didn't speak English but made sure the length he was getting ready to cut off was okay before cutting which I appreciated because we all know some hair stylists tend to be scissor happy. He tried to show me what he was going to do with my hair and the way he was going to cut before actually doing it which I also appreciated, he made sure every layer was even and double checked each layer. He thinned my ends out too which I love because most Americanized salons won't do that and on Asian hair without that process I find the cut to look choppy. I have been to this salon for hair cuts and never had a problem. I went around two months ago for straightening and my hair was completely burned and ruined. Not only did I spend 300 for them to burn my hair - but they told me to come back to re color my hair and spent another 200 for my hair to look like straw. I didn't want to complain at the time because I've been there before - but my hair is completely ruined and I have spent hundreds of dollars to repair the damage they caused. Do not get your hair straightened here!!! Waste of money and my hair is now falling out. Lost our business will never go back. read more

I came in with pre-dyed hair (dark brown) and wanted to go platinum/silver. I knew it was going to be tricky to get all the color out and to lighten it that much but Jeff and Li did a great job on both the cut and color! They were very meticulous & I felt safe in their hands. They don't speak much English but Grace does and she was able to fluently translate what I wanted and what the stylists' concerns were. The language barrier was never a problem. She gave great advice and feedback on what would suit my hair best. They spent the entire day on my hair and I am very satisfied with the results!! Great service, they focus on you and what you want. They do an amazing job on my hair and they are meticulous on the details. As a male, they also do perms and my hair always looks great. I get compliments often and my friends ask me where I got it done. I naturally have extremely straight hair so being able to get the perm look really adds volume and layer to a normal duller look. I have visited this place for the very first time last Monday to have my hair cut and dyed. The whole place is neat and quiet. Jeff is a very professional hair stylist. He wants everyone to have a perfect look. I tried to have other stylists to dye my hair twice before and both failed - the colors wouldn't show on my hair.
