After being misdiagnosed by a different physician as just having a bad sprain - and walking on that leg for about 3 weeks - I was referred to Dr T who, after exam and xrays discovered that I had a broken fibula. After reviewing the pros and cons of treatment surgery was scheduled fir the next day. I met Dr T at a surgery center (for outpatient surgery) and he performed surgery on my leg to repair the broken bone. I ended up with a plate and 9 screws in my leg and yes - that is as nasty as it sounds. I have seen Dr T several times for follow ups and post surgical evaluations. He is extremely personable and always takes the time to answer all of my questions. His office staff at this location are also very friendly and competent. Worthy of special mention is his Medical Secretary Chloie who is a truly magnificent communicator and is extremely efficient in getting me all the report copies I request. I highly recommend Dr T to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery and or evaluation.

Herzog terrified me into an extensive anterior/posterior cervical spine surgery - no concerns about making sure I understood the extent & repercussions. His PA was negligent in post surgery care. After 6 months of continued pain, swelling & spasms, I was still being told it would just take time, another 6 months - same thing. The PA thought it was cute I wanted to get back to my office, very patronizing and offensive. I complained about the PA & the dr thought it was funny and I recieved less care after complaining. Dr. finally informed me , 16 months post surgery, I was likely not recovering because they use the same size screws for everyone (I'm a oetite 5'1") and that sometimes with small women with thin muscles the hardware causes irritation and possible revision. That in itself is not acceptable. This late diagnosis increased my suffering, both physically & mentally. Their after care made a traumatic experience even more traumatic & painful.

I saw Shelley Brahler for about 6 weeks to recover from extensive spinal surgery (which my surgeon…read morehad advised could take a full year to recover from). At each visit she talked non stop, (as if this was some kind of therapy for her) about her personal life and would typically never check in on any level on my recovery; never inquiring on my pain, stiffness, or responses to treatment/exercises. She certainly never simply asked "How are you?" She worked exclusively on my shoulders however I also had muscle tightness in my back, along my spine where I'd had the surgery and issues from scarring. When I pointed this out to her, she suggested my husband massage me there. How is that professional? When I informed her that her previous change to my routine had caused me 2 - 3 days of near disfunction, she accused me of not wanting to do the work, became angry with me and cut short my appointment. I could go on. I would never recommend her or this whole office. There is a depressive pall over the office , with only one of their receptionists ever expressing any care, friendliness or interest in clients.

Located in the well known Bone and Joint Center that you can't miss seeing between Washington Avenue and I-90, this medical practice is one you should avoid like the plague. Actually the plague might be a better experience than three visits at this box store of medical practices. Quite simply, a visit here is like going to the DMV followed by a shot of Central Avenue Jiffy Lube on a Saturday morning as a chaser. From the moment you arrive in the parking-lot, to when you arrive via elevator you are surrounded not only by miserable patients, but cranky, and somewhat tired looking medical staff. You get on stand on line 20 minutes in front of 20 receptionists before your appointment, (you better not cut in-front of granny or soccer mom from Latham) and then your are delegated to a sterile waiting are before going back to an examination room. Then there is a exam, which most likely will be done buy an Albany Medical School/ AMC 2nd year resident. Hmmm...when I go to a specialists office, the last person I'd expect to examine me is a resident? But now I know...Teaching Practice. Meet the physician in charge...you'll lucky if he spends 10 minutes with you. Need a refill on your RX, before your follow up? Plan on waiting a week, only to get offered a new appointment to bilk your insurance for an RX of Naproxen. Trust me, after three visits...nothing improves...except your desire to spend the rest of the day on a Walmart check out line naked, than this experience this place when you have a serious orthopedic problem.
