Jiffy Lube - Auto Repair Near Me - Arroyo Grande, California

So I have been bringing my vehicles here for a long time. I could go to the dealer, but Jiffy is close and it has been affordable in the past. They offer good service and always point out issues they see with the vehicles which is good if you didn't know about something. However last week, I came in and was quoted my normal signature service. Now this price has steadily gone up for the past few years and I get it. But today I came in and was quoted $182. Pricey but not unexpected from my last visit 5,000 miles ago. Then after they get started, the manager comes out and says they mid quoted me $279. Apparently the prices went up and they are charging more for Diesel trucks. It makes no sense to me that because I drive a diesel, the synthetic oil should be $90 higher. When I complained about it the manager came out and knocked off $30. He also gave me a 50% discount on my next visit. I guess I should be happy about the discount next time, but the dealership is probably going to see me more often with these rates continuing to go up. Cheers read more

I took my car here for a routine oil change. A few days later I discovered major damage that directly correlated with my appointment. When I reached out to discuss the damage, the store manager was dismissive and unhelpful, refusing to take any accountability or offer any form of compensation. Overall, his tone and attitude were unprofessional. To be clear, the technicians were friendly and genuinely tried to help. The issue stemmed entirely from the store manager's lack of customer care. I wouldn't trust this location with my vehicle again. Mistakes can happen, but how a business handles them says everything... and unfortunately, this store's manager dropped the ball. *Please note: Corporate representatives have since reached out regarding my experience in an effort to resolve it. Disgusting experience - went here this morning for an oil change in my Mini Cooper. Showed the guy checking me in a coupon I downloaded that same day. He said it probably would not apply as I had an import. He would check - Came back, said manufacturer required synthetic oil not conventional oil I requested. If I would sign a waiver he could do it but strongly recommended synthetic oil. I asked what synthetic would cost - he started lecturing me why I should only get synthetic oil. I replied I understood, could he just tell me what that would cost. He suddenly got argumentative - then said he could not help me, didn't thunk he could satisfy me, refused any service and walked away! I got out and followed him in the shop. I said I didn't think it was unreasonable to ask how much it would cost. I had driven all the way there for an oil change. He then directed another guy to get the info from the computer. I was then told it would be $210 ! I left at that point and went next door to Big Brand Tire. They quoted me $95 (less than 1/2 the cost quoted at Jiffy Lube) for the synthetic oil change and also offered tire rotation at no charge. Very tempting to go for the quick cheap oil change but beware!! I regret my one time not going to the dealership and getting this quick service before heading out for a trip. The cheap oil they used gummed up my pistons, my car was consuming oil and I paid thousands of dollars to clean up their mess. So overall I didn't save money or time. Stay away! read more

LOF Service seemed OK. Not really possible to Know what was actually done. When I checked out I was told the tires were set to 42 pounds as recommended by the manufacture, however when I drove off my instruments indicted two of the tires were in the mid 30's and the other two were in the forties, but neither actually at 42. Which is what I set them at a few weeks ago. Not big, but when you told something and it is false, you begin to wonder about what else you were told. read more

I LOVE this JiffyLube :) Have been coming here for almost three years and commuted out to this one from SLO because it rocks. The employees here are honest, friendly, and actually care about your car and you driving safe. I struggle to trust car places as a woman who works outdoors with cars and knows when I'm being lied to and screwed over, but this JiffyLube has only ever been awesome. Jiffy Lube - My car sitting for the past 30 minutes - Auto Repair Near Me - Arroyo Grande, California

Here is a little break down of the situation. Went in on January 10th for oil change. Oil was leaking went back the 1st time they owned up to it being their fault and didn't screw on the cap they said they fixed it. I brought it in a 2nd time because it was still leaking. They said the drain plug wasn't screwed on the right way, they fixed it and I went home. Brought it in a 3rd time because it was still leaking and a notification came up on my car "engine oil at minimum level." They ordered a new drain plug and added oil, said it was fixed. The 4th time I brought it in it was still leaking and we both agreed to not touch the car and take it to BMW. Anthony (the manger) at jiffy lube told me to take it to bmw and let them fix the problem, have them send us the bill and we will cover the charge & the diagnosis. So I did that and bmw said they are not returning their emails or calls. I talked to the manager Anthony with jiffy lube and he said he doesn't have the power to approve or pay for a bill. Well now jiffy lube are not wanting to cover the bill from bmw which consists of a new oil change oil filter housing and new drain plug $1,800.00. Never received a refund from jiffy lube on top of it I am out of pocket now of $2,000.00. Jiffy lube has horrible communication, does not take responsibility for their mistakes. Special shout out to John who was super patient and communicative throughout the process. So sad because they've really gone downhill in the last year or so. They can't seem to maintain quality staff, and the current supervisor is too young and doesn't have enough authority or skill to manage the staff. Basically, the day I went in they're all wandering around like they had severe hangovers, and nobody knew what the other person was doing. It was surreal. Supervisor spent the whole time wandering around, talking on the phone, presumably to customers. They really need to have outside management come in and clean it up and have a permanent, seasoned, on site-supervisor or manager. Such potential, because they fulfill such a needed service for people in our community. But, I for one won't be going back for a while after that freaky experience. I'm still kind of worried about the work they did on my car and just hoping that it was done properly read more

They quoted me $177 for fully synthetic which I was okay with. They make you sign their quote which was fine but then when it was time to pay the bill they raised it to $242. When I asked why it had gone up $65 they said it was due to the synthetic oil which didn't make any sense since we knew all along it was synthetic oil. I was there waiting and not once did they approach me to tell me it would be higher than I was quoted. While , the employees were very nice, they had to be reminded to do the items on their own checklist. I had to also remind them to reset the programming in my car after the service. Last time I had to drive back to get that done which was an inconvenience. The price was raised for my specific car, so it became as pricey as the dealership. I will not be going back. read more

Unfortunately the routine oil change turned into more complicated repairs for my little Toyota Corolla BUT the staff was amazing!! I am revising this review as it is the biggest 180 I've ever experienced customer service wise at any place of business. They have improved every aspect of their customer service and workflow... I was greeted right away and told I would be next I was given the option to stay in my car during service (do to covid concerns) which I actually prefer the whole team work together like a finely-tuned machine it was like watching NASA space launch. All team members would call out their current tasks and communicate with the rest of the crew on what needed to be done out loud I was given comprehensive analysis on all of my tires and general maintenance... all safety concerns were verbalized by every employee encountering them. First off. Forget about the staff with the not natural hair colors. What matters is how professional one is treated and if they are efficient. I went in after getting AAA to jump start my car. Their battery test indicated a battery that was near failure. I took it here. Dave examined my battery and stated his test showed that a new battery was not necessary. I did the change out of an abundance of caution since the car's owner is not mechanical. Getting back to my earlier point. They are both professional and efficient.
