Amazing ! I have a 4 hour drive the day after Indy500, trying to get home. My tire light came on and a notification that I need all tires checked. Thank God these guys were opened. I even tried to go to a gas station to fill the tires myself but the air pump was broken. These guys were so friendly and nice. They not only filled all my tires but reset the sensor. I came here to get my oil changed at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. This was the only day of the week that I could get my oil changed, and I expected it to be fairly busy because many other people have to go on Saturdays as well. There were a few cars there when I got there, but they got my car into an empty bay within five minutes. The staff was nice and the waiting room was clean. I only waited about thirty minutes. It was a fairly cheap and quick place to get my oil chained, so I'll definitely be back. read more

This place is a total scam! I took my car in for an oil change and immediately started to be upsold on all sorts of repairs- needing a new air filter, replacing my brake fluids, new spark plugs (which were replaced a year ago), new brakes... it amounted to close to $700. I said no, but the salesperson insisted that the brake fluid was testing in a range that indicated impending brake failure, so I agreed to that service not knowing better ($99). I asked for synthetic oil for the oil change, it has been the recommendation in the past bc of my older high mileage vehicle. When I check out my total was over $200, apparently the synthetic oil change cost $90. I have never paid that much for an oil change ever. When I reacted to that price the saleperson immediately gave me a coupon for $12 off which just indicates they try this on unsuspecting people all the time. Today I took my car to an actual mechanic to have it inspected for all of the things jiffy lube suggested I get fixed and I needed NONE of the repairs. My brakes were at over 50%, not needing to be replaced at all and the rest was all fine. I suspect that the need to replace my brake fluid (which cost $99) was a lie. I will definitely never go here again and would urge people in the Chapel Hill or Carrboro area to avoid at all costs- check out Yeargans instead- for honest and reliable work. read more

I hate to give this place even 1 star. They were quick with my oil change but tried to get me to get me to use more expensive oil and buy a $50 air filter. They also stole over $5 in change from my door and console. Its sad when you can't trust anyone these days. I hope whoever stole my son's money and mine from the console enjoys themselves and sleeps well at night. read more

STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!! I went in this morning to have my vehicle inspected. I have a 2013 Acura ILX with 42,000 miles. My vehicle didn't have any warning lights on prior to arriving at this Jiffy Lube. I was told by the "Inspector/Mechanic" that I failed my OBDII Safety and Emissions test and that I would need to visit my dealer to find out what's wrong. They still charged me $23.75 and said that I would pay the rest when I return to get tested again. In state of shock I leave and jump in my car. There's 4 warning lights that are now on in my dashboard. Then I drive over to the local Acura service center and show them the paperwork. They've never heard of the code number that caused me to fail and mentioned that Jiffy Lube probably unplugged my battery to purposely cause me to fail. We scheduled an appointment for the next business day. While driving around the town 30 minutes later, all of the warning lights disappeared. Out of curiosity I decided to go somewhere else to get my vehicle inspected. As I expected, I passed without any problems. So within two hours I fail an inspection with Jiffy Lube and then visit a competitor and there was no issue in passing. Do yourself a favor and please don't waste your time or money here or you will be disappointed. read more

I went for a simple oil change. After 35 minutes of someone working on my car they came to get me from the waiting area to ask me who last changed my oil. I said the name of the other place down the road that had done it, to which they immediately responded "well they broke your drain plug, completely stripped it. They broke it so they need to fix it. You need to to take it back to them." While I thought it was odd that they kept repeating that the other shop had broken it, I took them for their word and took my vehicle back to the shop that last changed my oil. After looking at it for a few minutes they called me back to the car bay to show me what was up. The plug was definitely stripped, but it was clearly freshly done and done trying to take it off, not put it on. Wanting a third opinion I consulted a mechanic friend of mine who agreed with the second shop that this was jiffy lubes fault. The second shop said it'd be about 100 to fix. So I called the customer support line, who said that without an incident report (which no jiffy lube employee filled out) and without a receipt (why they didn't charge me it seems) they wouldn't be able to make right on their mistake. Disappointed in this place. Picked up a Groupon for an oil change, tire rotation and application of Rain X to the windows. They were extremely friendly until I pulled out the Groupon. After that it was upsell after upsell. Not only were they pushy, they tried to pass on doing the tire rotation and give me credit for the service for a later date. They also came out with the nonsense that they would have to make a note (so that they could "cover" their liability) that I passed on their offer for the recommended synthetic oil change, which would have cost $50+ more. All in all, if it were not for the Groupon I would not have stopped here. Even if another Groupon offer or similar offer became available, I would not go back. Will just stick to a regular mom and pop shop instead the next time. read more

Went for a tire rotation and oil change. Got back in and the low pressure light was still on the back rear tire. When I got home I looked at the tires, still mud on the back rear drivers side tire and the panel behind (went a bit in the yard the day earlier). So they didn't rotate the tires. This made me wonder if they changed the oil or not. Sure enough I climb under and look at the oil filter. Still the valvoline oil filter I had last oil change (they don't use valvoline filters at this location according to the tech). Went back to confront the manager, quickly and quietly went to give me a refund but then said he couldn't do it on his system and I'd have to contact corporate. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!!! read more

So, went here with my roommate for a much needed oil change...paid an arm and a leg because she just "needed" all these extra things but whatever - she pays it - we head on our way...a few days later, she noticed a clanking sound coming from her engine, so we took it to the car dealership -- they check it out, and the people at this location remembered to take the oil out, but didn't put any back in! Needless to say, they called and told them that if there was any long term damage to her engine, they would be responsible, which there wasn't, thank goodness! Overpriced and terrible customer service. Not only are the employees rude, but the person staffing the office to check you in or answer questions is only there 25% of the time. After they finished with my car, the moved it forward and parked it. A different employee then yelled at me to move it because it was blocking other cars. They said they could check my breaks when I called but when I showed up they said they didn't do break checks. Basic Oil change costs 15$ more than nearby competitors. Don't go there. read more

Are they desperate? I was in for an inspection of our old Taurus wagon. I was told that my window shield wiper was bad, and had to be replaced. The total for inspection and wiper replacement was $60. Then the technician showed me a coolant leak, and unfortunately the hose had to be replaced, and that they needed to order the parts. The repair cost would be $170. I ran down to the local Ford dealer service. The Ford technician said that what they said were leak was a little oil. They said that that coolant pressure was good, and coolant was full, there is no coolant sweet smell, that there was no coolant problem. It was just an open-the-hood look, no way that the Jiffy Lube would not have checked out those simply symptoms to begin with, before claiming the coolant leak. The Ford tech, to be sure, even hoisted the car to look under. He saw no leak. Well, could the window shield wiper replacement be questionable also? I have been to this place yearly, I no longer trust them. I am sure that I could have paid to replace things I did not need. It is reasonable to think that in order for them to collect more than just the basic inspection charge, they could drum up replacement which may not be needed. They could easier make you pay twice of the inspection charge. I could be all wrong in my assessment of Jiffy Lube. Jiffy Lube said that could be a misunderstanding. However, in conclusion, if you have a Ford, go to University Ford in Chapel Hill for everything. There are some very competent people you can trust. read more

Wow, I was just trying to get my taillight fixed. It took a while (far longer than it should have) and one of the service women actually said to me "this is going to be tricky". It's a taillight! And that did not leave me feeling safe that she could handle the job. There was a lot of banging and profanity benign used loudly by all of the employees. I stopped in for a quick oil change and inspection between meetings. They continually tried to talk me into more services which I turned down; but the kicker was when they came and said they had tested my battery, and it was no good and should be replaced (for $129.99) asap. I said that I had not had any problem, and would wait to replace the battery when it died. Two minutes later they came in and said that my car would not start and they would have to jump me to get me out of there. He continued to say that once I left and turned my car off, he could not guarantee that it would start up again. I left feeling frustrated, suspicious, and a little nervous I was going to get stuck somewhere. My car started FINE the rest of the day, and when I got home my husband used his battery tester to test it.......FULL CHARGE, green light, NO issues!!! When I called Jiffy Lube to tell them and call them out, they could not explain how my battery could be fully charge now. SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more

This place is terrible! My wife and I have both been taking our cars to Jiffy Lube for years to get oil changes. After my experience at this shop, neither of us will ever use Jiffy Lube again. I was charged for a Signature oil change and all they did was change the oil. I brought the car back and was told that the technician had trouble removing the oil filter so it was not replaced. If this was true, he should have told someone. I was charged for service I did not receive. They had no trouble removing the oil filter when I brought the car back. I think this is fraud and I would not be surprised that they do this to their other customers. I asked for a discount because of the inconvenience and it was denied. The guy behind the counter argued with me because I was using a gift certificate for $40. He kept saying, "I've never seen anything like this before. You're going to get the service for free!" I reminded him that is was a gift certificate, and that the service was already paid for. He then grumbled another 2 or 3 times about how I was getting the service for free. Last month the car started making a clicking sound. I finally found the time to have it looked at, and I was told there was no oil. I checked it myself and it was bone dry. I now have severe engine damage! I just spoke to someone at their corporate office and they told me that the mechanic told them that they told me there was only 2.5 quarts in the engine and that I was told I have oil leaks, and they put 2 quarts of oil in my car. Really? Well, they must have been talking about a different car or customer because that was NOT me! None of that is true! In fact, I bought my own oil at target after leaving! I have the receipt! Incidentally, if there was indeed 2.5 quarts of oil still left in my tank, then how on earth did I get engine damage from not having any oil? By the way, if the car has oil leaks wouldn't Jiffy Lube have noticed? But that does not matter. ALSO, someone sliced my high pressure hose!!!!!!!!! There were 3 slices in it!!!!!! Prior to going to Jiffy Lube the car was in A+ condition! I contacted the corporate office to tell them what happened and the POS I spoke to was attacking me, asking me what proof I had!!! What proof??? Who on earth would make stuff like this up???? What a total jerk!!! So, since companies like to sue people who leave bad reviews on Yelp, I won't say anything else except to ask you, the reader ... what do YOU think happened? Do you think they gave me an oil change? Or do you think my car suddenly developed oil leaks and completely ran out of oil? Do you think my high pressure hose suddenly got 3 slashes into it on its own??? UPDATE. It cost nearly $2,500 for AAA to completely fix my car after all the damage caused by what mysteriously happened after my trip to Jiffy Lube in Chapel Hill. All this because the idiot behind the counter didn't know what a Gift Certificate was!!!!!! And I guess his good friend decided to exact some sort of revenge. Horrible experience. read more
