It is a super sad situation, as the place use to be our family's go to automotive service location. We will never take another vehicle to them again. They have lost loyal customers who try to support local businesses, due to their unprofessionalism, untrustworthiness and unreliability. The first issue was that someone did not check the fluids after servicing our vehicle. They called after the fact to say they "forgot." I call that unprofessional and unreliable. The 2nd issue came after my mother died and I inheirited her vehicle and needed to get it inspected b/c of MD requirements. I called them last Wednesday and requested an appointment for an inspection ASAP. The soonest they could even give me an appointment was Monday AM. The car was there before they ever opned on this Monday. My husband called mid-day to see when the car would be finished/ready and to let them know that our plan was to go to the Motor Vechicle Administration AS SOON AS it was ready as there were time constraints. They informed him that they could not inspect it b/c there were clothes in the back seat. They did NOT BOTHER to call to let us know that. My husband got all of the clothes out of the back seat and we waited to hear from them. Then around 3:30, he took the initiative to call them again. They informed him it would not be finished today. They would have it done by 9 tomorrow-which did not work for me. I immediate went to retrieve the car and will not give them any future business. Good luck, if you try them. Bad situation, and a pricey situation in any event. But I needed a transmission for my 2016 GMC…read moreSierra. I looked up the cost of a remanufactured transmissions of a couple well known vendors. Their cost were all pretty close. The difference is the core return refund, ie whether it is paid up front. So, the core return makes a huge difference on the overall price. Anyhow, Denton Auto care quoted me a price that just for the transmission was $4500, nearly $1600 higher than the sources I looked up, no discount for the core return either. This shop tries to charge you extra every chance they get. So, I sourced my own part with a warranty. Then they still jacked up the labor about $400 higher. Then they hit me for an additional $200 to program the transmission. It's 2026. Like they didn't know that this was part of the procedure. The only reason I used them at all was proximity to where I live. They also were listed in the transmission suppliers installer pool. I won't even use them for a tire repair at this point. Nothing really against the mechanics that work there, but the management staff needs an overhaul.

My tire warning…read morelight had turned on and even though I filled the air multiple times at the Wawa nearby it seemed one of the tires was leaking because it was reading 10psi lower on the gauge within a few hours. I called around to multiple tire places and Bay Area was the only one that told me to come in now, everyone else was busy and told me to come later or the next day. These guys had me in and out in less than 20 mins confirming that my tire was fine and there was no hole or leak. They said the Wawa pump is notorious for messing up peoples tires even more and to not rely on the accuracy of that pump. So they sent me along the way without charging me! What great value. They also told me that in the future to just come in anytime and they will create a space for me in the garage and check the tire pressure and fill the tires with air anytime I need to, complimentary, instead of going to the Wawa. Really kind service!!! Thank you guys. Hopefully I will not have car issues here in the future but if I do and I am in town again, I will be sure to bring it to these guys.

I recently had my vehicle towed in after ALL the warning lights on the dash began flashing simultaneously. When the car arrived at the shop it was not acting up. The mechanics spent two days trying to replicate the issue. When the problem finally recurred, they determined it to be something that required dealer attention. I then had the car towed to Hertrich Honda and Bay Area did not charge me anything, stating they would not feel comfortable charging to diagnose something they were not qualified to fix. I recently had the misfortune of bringing my 2003 Lexus SC 430 to Mid-Shore Tire for three dashboard - Yellow warning lights. Thinking they had the expertise to handle a diagnosis, I authorized nearly $700 in repair work. They managed to clear exactly one light. Enter the manager, Ben - a man whose ego appears to be roughly the size of the Bay Bridge. His "expert" solution on next steps - - spend $1,100++ on a new steering wheel sensor. Confidently suggesting this would resolve the other two lights. Fortunately, I sought a second opinion at the Lexus dealership in Annapolis. I met a Master Tech with 32 years of experience who fixed the entire issue with a simple "System Reset." Total cost: $120. Total time: One hour. The car needed a simple system reset. That's it. No parts. No guesswork. No $1,100 science experiment. The kicker? When I called Ben to share the good news and save him from making the same mistake with future customers, he was so flummoxed and embarrassed that he told me to "never come back." Bottom Line: Trust me, Ben - you won't have to worry about that. If you need tires, air, or wiper blades, Mid Shore Tire is fine. If you need actual diagnostics, competent troubleshooting, or someone who doesn't treat your car like a slot machine, go literally anywhere else. If you like engaging with a Super-Ego Prick....by all means Ben is your guy....just don't make him mad....
