I went to get my brake light changed. They told me that when they changed the bulbs it didn't work and concluded that I must have some sort of electrical problem. There is no Jiffy in Jiffy Lube. So I have to say Jiffy lube needs to engage in some business process re-engineering. Today I had a very simple plan, drop my car off at Jiffy Lube, and head out with my boyfriend to do a little shopping. Seems like a good plan, right? Guess again, it seems Jiffy Lube wont even take down your information until it's your car's turn to be serviced. So today, there were three cars ahead of mine. I was told I had to wait until all the other cars were done before they would even take my information, about 25 minutes. Hello! This defeats the whole purpose. In this economy, I will take my business to someone who really wants it. I guess Jiffy Lube is doing real well, if they feel like they can alienate their customers and turn away business. read more

I went here for a simple oil change, and the staff was incompetent. They told me I would need a new oil plug and that they couldn't help me. I ended up going to Motorpool in Campbell, and they said that my car did have the correct plug, and changed it for $29. Jiffy Lube wanted to charge me $49 for worse service. read more

Such sloppy work here all around. Got a brake light changed. As I'm paying, the guy says he replaced the other one for free. Thought that was nice. I drive away and later realize my rear left turn signal no longer works. Go back there the next day, it's not a light bulb issue so I'm assuming they messed it up somehow. Maybe a massive coincidence. but now fast forward about 6 weeks...my brake light is out again. Not sure if he replaced it with a used bulb, or that 'free' brake light was total BS. Also, he sold me on the synthetic oil that's supposed to last 7,500 miles. At around 4,000 I see my oil light go on. Go back to get a top off which they say is free. But it's only free for the first 3,000 miles (on oil that's supposed to last 7500). So I had to pay for it. Perfect sense. Never going back here again. read more

I brought my Jeep Cherokee 6 cylinder in today (8/25/13) for an oil change and to have them add coolant. I told the person at the front desk when I first arrived that I was particularly interested in having the coolant checked as I had checked it myself and knew it needed more fluid and we were going on a trip. When I was checking out they showed me on the computer screen all the work that was done including topping off the coolant. Since that was one of my main goals of going in today, I asked to see the coolant level before I drove away. To my dismay, the coolant level was the same as when I arrived and was at the "add" level--it was NOT topped off at all. After I asked, the tech filled it in front of me. After I got home I noted that the print out had "Service Comments" on it and it said, "Quality Inspection by D. Woolley"! Bottom line, they did not top off the coolant even thought they said they did and the Quality Inspection did not happen. I will be using the Sunnyvale Jiffy Lube in the future. Tom A. read more

Lousy and awful. I brought my Acura for an oil change to the store. A few things were pretty awful - 1, they didn't reset the maintenance code, so the car is still displaying oil change over due; I had to bring it back to reset it. 2, tire pressures were way off, and they claimed the sensors need "some time" to get the right reading and refused to correct it, but after much time, the tire pressure is still off (30 for the two tires on one side, 38 for the two on the other side). Not to mention that this place charges more than the dealership (with the coupon the dealership mails us). I picked Jiffy Lube only because I thought it's fast. But it turned out that it cost a lot more time going back and forth. I remember my only other experience with Jiffy Lube was about 10 years ago in another city, which was really awful too. My step son was nice enough to get my oil changed on my CRV as I was bedbound with this horrid flu. They convinced him to do tire rotation too. Receipt said they filled tires to 33PSI. Very next day I'm driving to airport and low tire pressure light goes off. One tire was at 22, two were at 26 and one at 20...hmmmm. Came back and they were nice enough to fill the tires this time. Leaving now, they say I have to drive it for 5 miles to "calibrate it" before the light will go off...double hmmm. read more

I would like to share an unpleasant experience dealing with Jiffy Lube oil-changing station. They broke the handle that opens the hood from inside the car during the time the car was left with them for an oil change. I noticed it when I got the car from them and drove it home. Within 1/2 hour I called them back to notify about the fact that their technicians broke it. In response they said that they can't take responsibility for it, although i explained the the handle was fine when I opened the hood myself prior to handing them the car. Beware since Jiffy Lube feels that they can damage your vehicle any way they want and not carry any responsibility for their actions. That's very unprofessional and exibits bad customer service and bad judgement on their part. I am definitely not coming back there. read more

Don't go to this place. I brought my VW for oil change and didn't want anything else. Car was perfectly fine. Owners of VW from 99-05 know that oil pane is aluminum and thus thread on it can be stripped easily. But I guess places who specialize at oil change should be aware of it. Well it doesn't look like it. They did an oil change and I left and parked my car, guess what I found when approached my car in the morning, yes a huge oil puddle under my car. I opened a hood and checked the oil level, it was like all empty. So I took my room mates car and went to closest gas station and bought 4 quarters and topped out the level. Went back to JL and told them that they didn't tightened the drain plug enough or stripped it. Manager wasn't there so the guy who was in charge came out with my invoice, he showed me invoice and there was the note saying that my car had a prior leak. They never told me that when I was there. Any ways, they didn't offer to add oil or put an over-sized drain plug or something, no options whatsoever. There is a place almost across the road, they charge like $10 less and they do perfect service. Don't go to Jiffy Lube Mountain View. read more

Guess it's not possible to give zero stars. So I wish I read the other reviews before getting my oil changed at this Jiffy Lube. I usually go to Jiffy Lube in San Carlos on El Camino and never have had a problem. But Mountain View location sucks, A LOT. Went Thursday for an oil change and despite the usual sales talk of trying to tell me I need such and such service/fluid flush on my car (which my mechanic says is total BS), I first kindly declined then got annoyed so explained to them that the services they are trying to sell are bull crap and my mechanic at APS Enterprises (see my other review) knows better. The guy didn't seem too annoyed at me for being a tad bitchy, and he did the oil change and I left. Sure enough, the next day and the entire weekend, I had a very, very bad oil leak. So, come Monday morning I decided to go to my trusted Jiffy Lube in San Carlos. They tightened a valve that the other Jiffy Lube oh-so-mistakenly didn't seem to tighten. I'm sure it was on purpose because they're a bunch of pricks, and I will NEVER go back to that Jiffy Lube location. F them. read more

Two problematic oil changes for two cars in the last week. First car is a one-year old Subaru. They overtightened the Oil Drain plug to the point where they damaged the gasket and caused the drain plug to leak. The plug was so overtightened that they had to use a mallet to get it off! They did replace the gasket, but this is the second car that I have had this happen to at Jiffy Lube. The Second car was brought in by my daughter. The workers tried to convince her that the air filter was supposed to be replaced every 12,000 miles. In reality, the air filter should last about 3 times that long! This was a deception to try to get her to buy what wasn't needed. I am done with this place. read more

Customer service went above and beyond. Thomas opened the office door for me as I walked out of my car into the rain. He fully explained the charges, and recommendations for my make and model regarding the current mileage. Not pushy at all - gave me the option to select what it was that I wanted. I have special tire locks preventing my tires from being rotated without a key. One lock was a bit too tight for the technicians to loosen, so instead of forcing it off, they explained the reason why they didn't want to rotate my tires (they wouldn't be able to replace the lock if it were to break) and gave me my tire-rotation coupon back. Thomas even recommended I take it to the dealer to have it rotated but mentioned that my tires looked well enough to endure the mileage until I got to that point. Quick, easy, convenient, and a pleasant experience! Will definitely come back. read more

What a -5 stars experience, one car a head of me, 20 minutes waiting just for them to take my information. I asked the guy how long it will be because I wanted to drop off my car and come back at lunch time to pick it up. He goes on and gives me a speech about the they are only 3, while he is talking; I lost my ride back to work. I interrupted him and ask him, how long more do you think I have to wait. He got very upset and said If you don't want me to serve you car you can leave. There I was 35 minutes out of the office, my car with the hood open, not oil change and a very upset guy that thought this petite woman was not going to say anything. I'm wondering if I was a 6 foot guy, he will ever try to talk like that or ask me to leave. WONDERFUL customer service. So to my fellow female friends please don't go there or make sure your honey goes with you, if you are so desperate to change the oil there. read more

The worst jiffy lube ever. I am stuck here as my perfectly working car came in for an oil change and now won't start. They left me stranded, unable to make my next appt. and the staff basically told me "oh well". When I drove in, I was the ONLY car there, and I was told 10 minutes for an oil change. 80 minutes later, still sitting here. They messed up my car, can't fix it and won't bother to status me on its condition. Btw, 5 year old car, was in perfect working order. Update: 4.5 hours after my driving in, I've just had my car towed to the dealer to figure out what the heck these clowns did to my car. The most annoying thing (besides not offering the tow, helping me out at all, giving me any help to remove the car) was the arrogant manor of the "mechanic" who jacked up my car. When I asked (politely) for a status on my car (as I needed to leave to get a child to an appt,) he looked at me, smirked and refused to talk to me. I asked again, then again, raising my voice - stunned - that someone would just look right through me and not offer even a simple, "I don't know" or "I'm still working on it". I was left completely stranded, with one child and another one 3 miles away I was unable to get to. Clearly, these people do not have lives, or are back sniffing oil when no one is around. We were pushed aside, told to "wait" and offered no other information. I had to have my spouse come pick me up--and even he was ignored by the "mechanic" when he asked what the status was. Upon another request for info, the "mechanic" finally did in fact speak--and told my spouse they did not know what was wrong (duh!). Hopeless and hapless. Now I get to have the car looked at by the dealer, where I should have gone for my oil change in the first place. Do not bring your car here!!!! You've been warned. read more

This is the worst station ever. I took our VW Jetta for an oil change not only one of the techs was rude to another customer, but the techs also stripped the drain plug, the CS Rep, says that they didn't do it, but I never had any issues like this with my cars until I tried Jiffy Lube. I ended up having to replace the whole pan ($450). I do not recommend this place and I will never go back to any Jiffy Lube station. read more

I'm Not Impressed. I went here to have the oil changed and the tires rotated on my wife's car. While doing so they managed to cause a serious vibration problem that made the car unsafe at highway speeds. When i went back to talk to them they tried to say that "are you sure this is new?" and then when they tried to fix it they did nothing! $70 later after rebalancing of the tires and putting them back on at the dealer the car drives just fine. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. I came in here for a brake service and learned that I needed both front and back brakes fixed. I paid for the service - not cheap at all and I later learned two things: 1) I paid almost $200 more than 3 other auto shops would have charged me 2) The installation of the brakes were WRONG! After I had my brake service, I started noticing my car would get this rattling sound everytime I went over bumps or just drove slow in general. I took my car back to Jiffy Lube and complained about the problem, they took a look for about 2 hours and came back to tell me that the brakes were installed perfectly. I drove away thinking they were right. Over the next few weeks I decided that something was definitely wrong so I took my car to THREE different auto shops. All told me the same thing. I need to take my car back to who originally did my brakes because the installation wasn't done right and that Jiffy Lube is responsible. So I take my car back to Jiffy Lube, for the third time. Here's what I find out. The day I went, the brake technician is not in. Okay, that's fine. I asked to speak to the manager about the problem - guy apologizes, says he is at a manager meeting and is on schedule to be back the next day at 10AM. I come back the next day, brake technician is there but manager is not. The same guy tells me, "oh I'm not sure why he isn't here, he is scheduled to be here." Seriously, what kind of place are you running? You just come into work when you feel like it? Anyway, brake technician takes a look at my car. He is skeptical that it is their fault the brakes are not properly installed. Takes a look and calls me out. He starts listing out his credentials, "I went to school for 4 years to get this certification - I know what I'm doing" and says, "the technician that did these brakes did them PERFECTLY". He proceeds to explain to me in car jargon how he knows everything is right as I question him about how come 3 different auto shops told me they are faulty. Then, moves my brakes and sound happens. He takes another look for a minute and says "I take back my previous statement, the technician forgot to install one part of both back breaks". ARE YOU KIDDNG ME? In the middle of telling me how perfect the brakes were, and listing how you are better than 3 other shops, you finally admit you guys did a bad job. You forgot a whole part?! Anyway, says I have to come back the next day because they need to order the part. They tell me okay, I start work at 11AM so come in then and we'll get you out of here in 30 minutes. Come back next day, I have to wait until 12:30PM for my car to get looked at! He ended up coming in early for a different car. Are you kidding me? He promised an appointment time, and did not deliver. Bad communication. and obviously bad service both auto and with customers. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache that is the mountain view Jiffy Lube. read more

Horrible customer service. They estimated 1 hour for the work on my car and took more than four and a half. They never once tried to give me an update or communicate what was causing the delay. When I asked what was going on they refused to take responsibility instead blamed the parts supplier. It was a total waste of a full afternoon. They left the O2 sensor unplugged so my car stalled after 10 feet. They said they topped off the power steering fluid but it was very low. They wrote in the notes that the transmission fluid was low and they were out but didn't verbally tell me. I would not be surprised if they didn't change the oil. I won't go back. read more

Service is okay. People are nice, but they seem to want to up sell everything. Telling me that I needed wipers, air filter - when I know that it's not needed doesn't help. The other thing is that it took like freakin' 30 minutes when I was the 1st one in and it was dead. Most of these drive through places should only take 10 minutes at the most. While I was waiting in the lounge one of the sales people were trying to up sell a transmission fluid change for like $150 to the guy waiting there. He told the guy that he wasn't a mechanic, but was trained in fluid change. WTF, then you know nothing about cars other than basic stuff that Jiffy Lube teaches you, so don't tell your customers that something is very necessary when it's not - like the 3000 mile oil change. Most new cars don't req. a 3000 oil change, you can wait until 5000 or 7500 or with synthetic oil you can go longer under certain conditions. NO mfg ever recommends 3000 mile service. The guy was trying to tell me that my car would last longer if I did the 3000 because he said that most oil breaks down after 3000. Anyways the place is clean, and prices are good (like around $40-45 for basic oil change), just make your decisions based on what is needed for your car NOT what they say. read more

Very bad service. Did not ask me anything when I pulled in, and did not go over price. Said it would take 40 min but it took longer and they had other people who came in after me be done before me. No organization by the people there. The waiting room looks abandoned and when I went to my car, 55 min since I got there, there was car oil on the side of my door all over the handle. Really? To their credit, they tried to apologize. But it seems no one is in charge. I would not recommend and I will not be going back here. read more

Excellent customer service!!! We had to bring in our BMW as it was leaking oil. We had taken it somewhere in Sunnyvale, for an oil change, the week before and they left everything loose. Because they were closed today we decided to go to Jiffy Lube to see if they could check why we were leaking so much oil. These guys were great to us, showed us the problems, fixed everything and topped off our oil. They had us in and out in no time at all and were all such great guys!!!
