I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding my experience at the Mr. Lube location in…read moreAurora, Ontario, on January 8, 2026. This incident involved a lack of professionalism, unethical behavior, and extremely poor customer service. I have been a Mr. Lube customer since purchasing my Volvo four years ago. On the day of the incident, I called the Aurora location specifically to confirm whether they had an original Volvo oil filter. I asked this question clearly and intentionally because I previously experienced a serious issue at another Mr. Lube location, where a generic, unbranded oil filter was installed, causing oil-related problems and requiring corrective service. The employee who answered my call at the Aurora location explicitly confirmed that they had the original Volvo oil filter. Prior to this call, I had contacted Mr. Lube locations in Newmarket and Mississauga, both of which honestly informed me that they did not have the Volvo filter. Based on the confirmation from the Aurora location, I drove over 30 kilometers to receive service. Once there, my vehicle was brought into the service bay, and the oil filter was removed. At that point, I exited my vehicle to personally inspect the replacement filter and confirmed that it was NOT a Volvo-branded filter, but a generic, unbranded one. I immediately informed the individual who appeared to be the manager that I did not accept this filter and reminded him that I had called in advance specifically to confirm the availability of the original Volvo filter. I explained that I had been misinformed and expressed my concern regarding the lack of ethics, professionalism, and respect for the customer--particularly given the distance I had traveled. Following this, the manager ordered me to return to my vehicle. I refused, clearly stating that I did not authorize the oil change and only wanted the original filter reinstalled so that my vehicle could be returned to its original condition. The manager then ordered me to leave the service area and go outside, despite the fact that it was approximately -5°C and raining. I refused again, as my sole concern was ensuring that my vehicle was returned to me in the same condition in which it arrived, especially since I no longer trusted the staff due to their unprofessional conduct. When I attempted to leave in my vehicle, I was not allowed to exit immediately. I observed someone working underneath my car without any explanation. This caused me significant concern and fear, as I did not know what was being done to my vehicle. Only after approximately three to four minutes was, I finally allowed to leave the premises. The behavior of the staff--particularly the manager--was authoritarian, disrespectful, and highly unprofessional. At no point was I treated with courtesy or provided with a clear explanation. The overall customer service was unacceptable. I consider this incident very serious and expect that appropriate action will be taken to address this matter and to prevent similar situations from occurring with other customers.

Recently I began having some issues with the vehicle shaking so I needed to get it looked at. I found All Things Automotive on Yelp under their old name Rosstech and thought I'd give them a try... I am glad I did! The staff were very friendly and warm right from the moment I walked in. They had taken it for a road test to see if they could feel the shake. As someone who had discovered that past "diagnostic road tests" had included multiple 100+ km round trips for the staff at the dealerships service centre I always watch my odometre and gas tank now. Their road test was what I would consider more than reasonable! They found the leaks right away, as well as what might be causing the occasional shake. They outlined what needed to be done now, what could wait, and what I needed to keep a watch on. They provided me a safe, nice loaner for the next day and didn't give me any trouble when I returned 20 min late after having been stuck in unexpected traffic (which put them past their closing time). The cost was less than expected for all the work they did, no grease or other materials were on my interior and, most importantly it is running great! I think I found my new service centre!

Once I arrived I saw the tires were not in the advertised condition. One had some strange wear on the side of the tread, as though it had been drifted with. One was less than the advertised 70% tread, and one had a nail through the tread. After getting them to reduce the price and pull/patch the nail, they encouraged me to go to the convenience store ATM across the street to pay with cash. They took my info, but gave me no receipt. I figured they were honest as the guy said come back in 30 days for any warranty work. Tires felt ok, but one would throw a low pressure code after like 2 weeks. Figured there might be a VERY slow leak, so I put them in storage for winter and checked in March to see if I needed another patch/plug. Lost 15 PSI. I took the wheel to a local shop to diagnose where the leak was, and they found something I had missed. I was sold a tire with a PATCH IN THE SIDEWALL. Unbelievable that they would allow this to leave their shop and go out on the road. I can only imagine what would have happened, had this blown with my wife and newborn son in the car. Took me 2 months this spring to find a single replacement, and I'm out the money I spent. Emailed the shop and got no response, so here's my review: Stay far far away. Look at reviews on other sites and you will see similar stories. Yes, I should have found that patch before buying - save yourself the trouble. EDIT: Reached out to me after posting this review and refunded me for the one tire. Thanks guys. Added 2 more stars for service.
