Don't get scammed, don't go to this crazy establishment. Previously, I had confronted one of this guy about price gouging me on a repair for almost $3k. He never agreed or denied my assumption. Lazy me and I had other errands to run on Saturday morning. I ignored my better judgement to go to our usual route 22 Toyota service. (What's the worst that could happen, i said) I took our well maintained and functioning 2008 Toyota Highlander sport for a quickest oil change and hoping they add air to the tires. Few mins in the waiting room, this clown came to me and said my car won't start. And I must get it fix, my ears, brain and common sense couldn't comprehend his words. A perfectly functioning car. Additionally, He alone demonstrated or attempted to start our car while I watched. I was livid that they did this to me again, after few minutes of yelling and screaming at them. Please DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARS HERE !!! Especially your High end CARS! ! On 08/2/24 one of my cars was service at the jiffy Iube on 425 Terrill Rd, Plainfield, NJ 07062. I have Been alternating between this location in Plainfield, and Union, nj. Being that this particular car is not my main car the oil change is not done frequently. When i took the car to get a the oil change on 3/22/25 at the union location they were unable to do it. When they did my oil changes the previous time at this location, the oil plug was stripped unbeknownst to me and placed back under the car. NO ONE SAID A WORD TO ME. I returned To the Plainfield location to tell them what had happened. The manager Miguel first told me the Oil change was not done from underneath the car, which turned out to be a lie as per my receipt. He reassured me that if the oil plug was indeed stripped, that the oil pan would be replaced/ repaired. So I allowed the mechanic at the location in Plainfield to change the car's Oil to verify that the oil plug was stripped. After completing the service, he told me that it was and would need to be replaced. He stated that the car could be driven out of the store, but they needed to change the oil pan and plug. I was Told it would be repaired by the location Verbally. And it was written on my receipt in hand. I have been calling and they will not give me anyone's information to contact regarding the repairs. I asked For HR i was told by the manager Miguel they do not have one. I also asked for the corporate phone number, he Also told me no. As Per my receipt, someone was supposed to contact me on 04/12/25 Regarding my repairs. No one did. I contacted the store on 4/12/25 and was informed The manager was not in the store. The assistant manager, Terry told me that the store district manager would be contacting me on Monday, which did not happened. I called The store The manager, Miguel told me someone MAY contact me, but he wasn't sure when. I am Left with a damaged Aluminum oil pan and plug, and no Resolution. Went in a few weeks ago for an oil change and tire rotation. Oil change was done but they were too busy to rotate the tires. No problem. Went back last week and they took me right in. Also needed to top off coolant but they didn't have the mix for my car. Rep told me to buy the coolant next door at Autozone and they'd add it for free! Incredible service! read more

On a very cold and rainy-rainy-rainy day, my wipers decided to give out on me and my oil needed to be changed. This location was one of two spots still open and willing to take me after 5:30pm. I called, he said come over, I got there, they asked me which service i wanted and if I was familiar w/ the fees. I was not. I called my husband and the gentleman did not do that annoying upsell things that oil places tend to do. He simply asked if we wanted A, B, C, etc. and took yes or no for the answer. The other gentleman noticed my break lights were out. The oil change took literally 15 mins in and out. He saw me reading the instructions on the windshield wiper and asked me to give him the wiper and all my trash. This was my first experience the Jiffy Lube and I was impressed. They were not busy at the time, but I drove up and was directed to pull right in. I explained that I had submitted an estimate online for an oil change. I was led to their waiting room were I waited not long at all before I was told it was completed. Called twice for Motor and break pad change got a price estimate $180 plus tax showed up tells me $125 per hour will take 1.5 hour max. Then changes to 250 plus tax. Second time going there after I went to get my tire plugged, short bald dude takes a look at my tire for two three minutes, tells me there's no puncture sends me off home. I get home put soap water on my tires and bubbles start flyin. These guys mechanics or clowns? Horrible incompetent ain't the fucking word. As in other reviews here, my son was told he needed a bunch of stuff he may or may not have needed when he went there for a $45 oil change. He walked out with a$490 bill. ZERO star!! I always go here for an oil change, but this was the last time I will ever choose this company. I asked for an oil change and new filter, that's it. I'm in the waiting room and they of course they tell me I need windshield wipers, flush the steering fluid, new spark plugs, battery looks like it should be replaced within a month or so. Yea how about a new engine too?? Well let's take a guess on the one thing they didn't do. "She's all set! Here's the keys sir. Have a great day." I was driving out of state until I had problems starting my car when I pulled off at a pit stop. THEY FORGOT THE OIL!!!! I was driving with no oil in my car for at least 300 Miles!! My usual oil change spot was snowed in and not able to service any cars, so I took a chance and hopped over to Jiffy Lube. This was my first time patronizing a Jiffy Lube, and they lived up to the name! Service was friendly, courteous (opened and closed my car door for me) and FAST! I was in and out in 15 minutes. Services and price was explained to me before they started working and I never felt pressured to purchase add-ons. It was easy to find and use coupons - I saved $12 on my oil change. They even vacuumed the interior for me! The only suggestion I have is to put wifi in the waiting area and maybe spruce it up a bit. Jiffy Lube has me as customer now!!! read more

I witnessed them upsell a young lady from a oil change to transmission and coolant flush. She dropped over $200.00 which started as a oil change. They turned around and told me 80 for a oil change I bought the oil and filter since it calls for synthetic I said hell no. This is the place I come to all the time. They are efficient, quick and polite. They let you know if you have any issues with your vehicle and they give you a step by step play of what they are going to do to your vehicle. I go here before I go to the Sears down the street! I can not say enough good things about this place!!!! I LOVE this Jiffy Lube. I have heard of people having negative experiences with Jiffy Lubes, so I really think it depends on which one you go to. I highly recommend this one. I was used to going to my dealership for maintenance, so I couldn't believe it when the employees at this Jiffy Lube said things like, "You should probably replace your air filter soon, but it can definitely wait." It can wait?! I had never heard those words regarding my car ever. I was always getting pushed to spend more at my dealership. At this place, they were honest and I can say that I fully enjoyed the experience of bringing my car in. I was super disappointed when I left this place. I asked to have my tires filled, they weren't. They said they would clean the inside of the car, they didn't. And they don't even put a mileage sticker on your windshield for when you get your oil changed. The staff was fine but the service I received was hugely lacking. read more

I have never had a bad experience at Jiffy Lube, Plainfield. The staff is unfailingly courteous, professional, helpful and attentive. They always show the parts to me that need to be replaced, and spend the time to explain why they need to replace it. They explain why a particular repair needs to be done in a non-judgmental manner. They will suggest repairs, but they are not pushy. I truly appreciate this because I have been "talked down to" by other car repair places, and I think it's because I'm a woman and I'm not supposed to be able to understand car repairs! The staff at Jiffy Lube is the complete opposite of that bad treatment. They are extremely patient and respectful, and they explain everything every step of the way. As a woman, I sometimes feel like mechanics are trying to push me into spending more money because they assume I don't know anything about cars. They're not entirely wrong - I know very little about cars - but I still don't like feeling tricked. That has never happened to me at this Jiffy Lube. Everyone who works there is kind and friendly, and when they think I need something beyond an oil change, they explain why. For example, today the guy changing my oil recommended that I replace the engine air filter, which he removed and showed to me, while explaining how it works and why it was affecting my gas mileage. They are always patient and helpful. Plus, they send me coupons in the mail. I'm always out within 30 minutes and I happily go to them instead of the 4 or 5 places I pass on the way. read more

I did not like this place and feel they are just out to scam the customer. Their customer service is bad and I rather go elsewhere. They suggest work even when not needed suggesting things causing unnecessary expense. The technicians are not professional and I'd rather pay a little more and have true mechanics work on my car. I went there for an oil change. I then get a bill of $99 plus tax which they added an air filter and a tire rotation without asking me once. It's a corporate account - they knew they can max it at $100. So they did- "it was standard for them" which baffles me. Never once, while I was sitting there was I asked if I wanted an air filter or a tire rotation. If they truly did the tire rotation- why didn't they put air in my tire as well ( I had a previous Tire pressure light that is still on) - I did not see the work getting done - so i cant say they didnt do it but I am VERY skeptical. Although my corporate account was paying, it is about the principal and doing the right thing. At the end of the day I choose where to get my vehicle serviced. As I told them - this was my first and last time there. I choose to go to them over a Firestone or pep boys to support small businesses- but it's unfortunately business like this that ruin it for the rest of them. read more
