DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! these people are not experts, they will literally steal your money and blow smoke up your ass about refunding you. they stole $250+ from me by performing the wrong service on my car (replaced spark plugs for a grinding noise i kept hearing while accelerating). i ended up going to another jiffy lube out of town, who luckily had a honda expert on staff and got the grinding noise fixed. honda expert also sent me home with a list of codes that my dash showed, which indicate the exact problems that initially needed fixing. honda expert said i should go back to the northgate jiffy lube, show them the codes so they have the reference for the future & can educate their techs, and get a refund because i paid $250+ at northgate to get jack shit fixed. so i went back to the northgate location to request a refund. at the time their phones were out (for months on end) so i physically had to drive to the northgate shop (about 10 times), wait in line and ask someone about a refund. the guys would tell me the same thing every time - apologize, say they understand my frustration, take my information, promised me they'd call their cash department, one time the guy even said he knows where the cash department lead lives and would personally go visit her after they closed shop to initiate a refund. every time they assured me they'd get my refund to me, no one got back to me, and i had to drive back to ask about it again. i then emailed jiffy lube customer service 5 separate times, and each time got a generic robo-response with a claim number. the emails were all identical. i couldn't get through to a human via the email (the general customer service one listed on the JL site). i was fed up at this point & looked up the franchise company which is based out of texas, contacted the owner (john allison) + his assistant (scott rodriguez) via phone and email multiple times, who both promised to escalate the issue and email me a tracking number for a check. at this point i was completely ghosted. the craziest part was that every single time i spoke to anyone tied to the northgate shop, they all were kind, acknowledged my issue and sympathized with me. i even disputed the charge with my credit card (discover) who ended up rejecting it because no one from jiffy lube would respond to discover's investigation attempts!! they have severely inconvenienced me over the course of several months (now years, since this happened in 2021 and i'm STILL chasing my refund) having to do all the aforementioned legwork. they have no integrity from the shop staff right up to the franchise owner. they completely took advantage of me and lied to my face for months. i'm currently in the process of taking this wack ass shop to small claims court. seriously unbelievable, seriously shitty business model & morals here. my attached photo speaks for itself read more

I came here for just an oil change and the staff seemed perplexed by a German car. They had a good time discussing that and then their favorite sushi places for 10 minutes. They then proceeded to break the part that holds the oil filter and had to run to the nearest auto parts store to fix it. Between all of that and the wait a simple oil change took over 1.5 hours. Do not like this location. I went in April got my car serviced. Told me there was an oil leaks but said they couldn't pin point where it was coming from and that's all they knew. (There is no oil leak) Got my car serviced here a few days ago, guy told me my cabin filter was placed incorrectly and it was very bent so air was seeking through (only had services done at this location) Got into my car to find out my glove compartment won't shut and they didn't even put the filter in!!! last week i had the full service to my 12 yr old honda crv that is still in good working order thanks to this jeffy lube location in my neibhbornood next to the grocery store where i shop. the staff was most courteous and responsive, general manager who is known as m j was present greeting and assuring all went well. the work took under 15 minutes. 12.9 to be exact. all bases covered and a detailed receipt of work accomplished to me however, thi s week a problem: i understood they check and filled all liquids for window washer including checking air conditioner and putting freon there. today is was not in seattle. my airconditioner was limping along with air at room temp. i drove in and asked: did you not check; you advertise you service all such parts. yes we checked but the company has not replaced our broken air conditioner equipment. how long ha sit been: years not months or weeks. i was astonishe apologially the gm said the nearest jl that had a working one was lynnwood wa some 20+ miles awa6 what gives; great staff, great service and blocked from doing the complete job as jc corporate will not apparently replace their air conditioner equipment read more

Indiron was really professional and gave great customer service. Went in for an oil change, and he was able to fix some other issues that needed attention (new radiator cap, air filter, and a couple bolts that were missing) and cleaned off my terribly corroded battery. I had to go buy the parts from a different car shop, so it wasn't like he was trying to up sell me. He just wanted to make sure my car was taken care of. When I came back with the parts for him to swap out, he was already done with his shift, but stuck around to do it anyway since the other guys were busy. Couldn't ask for a better experience. This afternoon, at about 1pm, I got a routine oil change serviced at the Northgate location. I own a 2015 Toyota, Corolla, regularly serviced at this same location. When I started my car at about 6pm my mileage flashed from the actual 78,006 miles to 99 miles a few times (which has never occurred prior). On my 16 mile commute to Lynnwood, I made a routine grocery stop and was not able to restart my engine. All dashboard icon lights are flashing and there are no sounds of an ignition starting. It is now 7:16pm. I began to call all Jiffy lube locations, starting with the service location, Northgate. The Lynnwood location answers the phone; the manager on the phone states "I wish I could, but I can't do anything for you. I am sorry we are all closed. I am headed out right now. Good luck, I'm sorry." Now I am waiting for a tow truck to bring my car across the street of the Northgate location from Lynnwood to have this matter addressed in the morning. I am not sure what the staff member did, or did not do to my vehicle; though, this situation is now amplified with the lack of assistance, followed with a tow service and inconveniencing my entire next business day. I am beyond frustrated at the lack of assistance and quality of service. read more

Went in for a simple oil change. The man who helped me and my girlfriend offered to do some work on our car after hours because we also needed our brake pads replaced. We politely declined and they did not have the proper means of giving us an oil change due to not having a machine. After we left the car started beeping saying the hood was open whilst clearly closed and we could not get it to stop by opening and closing it. We then had to go to Mercedes Downtown to get whatever sensor he broke by slamming our hood fixed along with the break pads and oil change we needed. We were at this place a total of 10 minutes and were billed about $1,000 extra due to incompetence! read more

Indiron the assistant manager recommended getting it fixed before they change the oil, and MJ recommended places I should go and gave me a coupon to one of said places! As I pulled in the technician "greeting" me audibly cursed so loud i could hear him from my car with my window cracked, from across the lot. This really set the mood for the whole interaction. He guided me in, and either forgot or didn't bother to do any of the checks that are advertised as part of the service at Jiffy Lube. Instead he just told me to shut my car off first thing and started fumbling with my hood and groaning. Once he opened my hood, again no checks were done and he walked over to tell me that after he scanned my VIN# he learned I - "just had an oil change 2000 miles ago" and that he'll just top me off and send me on my way. I was at the time just reaching 6000 miles since my last change, and if he had read the screen he would have seen the last time I was in, was for a top off. I told him to please just change my oil, to which he groaned again yelling profanities as he walked downstairs. I happen to know that Toyota places some of their oil filters up inside the exhaust manifold tucked where it is kind of annoying to reach, so as soon as he saw that, he came up and told me that he "doesn't think" he has my filter. Okay if that's the case, top me off I'll go somewhere else, thank you. He then dripped oil all over my valve cover in the process of overfilling it, dropped my hood, and guided me out. Honestly I am grateful that they didn't attempt to change my oil. Jiffy Lube is capable of providing a very convenient and clean service if they have the proper staff which this location does not. I left and immediately went down the street to the Jiffy Lube in Greenwood, and they were great. I highly recommend not coming here. read more

Have you ever felt compelled to write a letter to your younger self imparting words of wisdom that you've embraced as an adult? Maybe it's about a long lost love. Or serving your country. Or a relationship with a parent or sibling. Or, maybe it's something much more mundane such as paying attention in "Intro to Auto" class during your junior year of high school. That is a sentiment that has passed through my mind frequently as I've developed a somewhat illogical desire to do my own auto maintenance. Frequently, like most DIY projects, it also means starting out with a head full of confidence, followed by multiple and increasingly frustrated visits to the store, and concluding with a call to make an appointment so the job can be finished by someone who actually knows what they are doing. That's not to say, however, that I'm not without my abilities. So it was that I set out to change the oil in my '03 Ford Ranger pickup one cool morning. Piece of cake. Damn that oil drain plug is screwed in tight. No worries, I got this. Grrrr.....ugh! Dammit. Turn you stupid bolt, turn. It's not turning. But, the wrench is. Yep, as the wrench slowly but surely stripped the head of the oil drain plug, it was turning just fine. Of course the plug itself still wasn't turning a bit. Two hours of screwing around later, I threw in the towel and drove to Jiffy Lube. I hadn't been to a Jiffy Lube in years, but even as I pulled into the parking lot I had a very negative feeling about the company. Had you asked me to articulate that feeling prior to having my oil changed, I wouldn't have necessarily been able to. After having my oil changed, I certainly can. Still, pulling into the lot and seeing the giant $29.99 oil change banners all over the building, I had some hope that it would be affordable and painless. Let me just stop right here and separate the Jiffy Lube experience into two groups, the employees and the company policies that the employees are tasked with fulfilling. To a one, the employees are impossibly polite and cheery. From the moment you step out of your car, they are there to greet you, escort you to the lounge, offer you something to drink, check you in, etc. Really, every person I spoke with was so great it almost made me wonder what they were hiding. What they may have been hiding is Jiffy Lube's obnoxious policies that are designed to take a simple, advertised $29.99 oil change and ratchet it up to two or three times that amount. My experience was probably typical. I waited in the lounge until my car was ready to be pulled into the bay - about a half hour as they were quite busy. At that point the technician who would be working on my truck had me come over to the terminal and input my information. Once that was in, we discussed the service I would be getting. I expected that he was going to say that the cost would be $29.99 + tax. After all, that's what all the banners said. Oh, right. I forgot I was at Jiffy Lube. The tech started me at the top of the oil change food chain, the Jiffy Lube Signature Oil Change at $79.99. Annoyed, I declined. He pointed out that the vehicle manufacturer recommended synthetic oil and this was the best option. Uh-huh. Undaunted he pushed forward with the $39.99 option. No. No. No. "I want that", I said, pointing to the $29.99 banner. "OK, he said, but you know we don't vacuum your car with that $29.99 special." I think I'll live. Of course the upselling never stopped, even as my oil was being changed. Chip in the windshield? Check. Cracked belts? Check. Worn windshield wipers? Check. From what I've read online, all Jiffy Lube technicians have quotas they must meet and that those quotas include a minimum charge of $60.00. I declined all of the upsell suggestions (which were all made in a remarkably cheery manner) except for the windshield chip repair because I knew my insurance would cover the cost. The windshield tech, Mike took great pride in his job and the finished product. I didn't really care that much, but didn't want him to be disappointed, so I feigned that I was impressed with his fine craftsmanship. I almost wondered if he was looking for a tip. Do you tip at Jiffy Lube? I would never consider tipping at a dealership, so why would I do so at a Jiffy Lube? Am I just a cheap bastard? An hour after arriving I was done. I paid exactly what I had resolved to pay and was happy to be leaving. Jiffy Lube employees - 5 stars. Jiffy Lube policies that promote obnoxious upselling - 1 star. Overall experience - 3 stars. Pro tip: Jiffy Lube will tell you that your next oil change is due in 3 months/3000 miles. This is complete hooey. Modern oil chemistry has improved to the point that you only need to change your oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. A 2010 NY Times article claimed that Jiffy Lube was moving away from the 3000 mile recommendation. Three-plus years later, nothing has changed. What a surprise. read more

A couple months ago I got my oil changed here. They tried to sell me on getting my radiator flushed by showing me a test strip that indicated it was bad. I passed up that offer. After a couple weeks I checked my oil while getting gas and noticed it was low. I called my mechanic and he told me that it should be low that soon after an oil change. I brought my car in and he found the following: "Upon inspection technician noted oil drain plug loose and leaking as well as oil filter double gasketted and leaking also." I spoke with my mechanic about the radiator fluid and he told me not to worry about it because the test strips are not universal. Different manufactures require different test strips so it couldn't have been that accurate. I am glade I didn't pay them because it would have been a waste of money. If you're like me and 8 months pregnant and looking to change your oil so your car is all ready for the baby - don't go to Jiffy Lube. I have a 2000 Golf TDI and it's not as zippy as it once was, but it drives okay enough and I plan on keeping it for a few more years. But, after I pulled out of Jiffy Lube, it began smoking like crazy. People behind me were freaking out and I didn't think I'd make it home without first blowing up with the car. My husband looked at my dipstick when I got home and said the oil wasn't changed. I wasn't able to drive this morning without plumes of smoke billowing out from behind it, so I had the car towed to my mechanic and he confirmed the oil was never changed. Here's the kicker. Jiffy Lube charges $80 to do a synthetic oil change for my kind of car and they try to upsell a new filter for $28.. But, University Volkswagon charges $75 for an oil change, which includes a filter replacement. I called Jiffy Lube to talk about the situation and of course the manager, Tristan, claimed he changed the oil himself and he blamed everything on my older car, which is such BS. I drove it all morning and afternoon before hitting Jiffy Lube and it was fine. So, now instead of resting easy after my oil change, I'm bracing myself for my mechanic's bill. Long story short, avoid Jiffy Lube like the plague. I certainly will from now on. read more

I've been to a lot of Jiffy Lubes, and they tend to leave a poor taste in my mouth. That being said, my oil change was way overdue and I was at the Northgate QFC anyways so I figured... why the hell not? Unlike every other JL, the employees at this one didn't harass me or push unnecessary products on me. I was up front that I just wanted a basic oil change, and had no hassling take place. Also, got a free oil change coupon to mail in, so that rules. Was quick, and done by the time I had my groceries. The nice fellow even helped open the doors so I could put the giant bags in. Now I no longer have an excuse to put off the oil change! You can't beat having one in the same parking lot as QFC. read more

They're super nice...but not very competent. 1st 1-Star moment: I asked for them to change my transfer case fluid and the guy tells me that my car doesn't have a transfer case...and that if i can show him where it is on the car then he'll change it for free...ok if you cant tell me where my transfer case is (my car does have one), i'm not gonna have you change my fluids. 2nd 1-Star moment: This happened last friday. Went in for an oil change, the guy behind the desk starts talking to me about how much he loves my car. When the oil change is done i hear them start up the engine and a loud metallic rattling noise is coming from my engine bay. This was definitely not there before. They try to send me on my way but i just sit there revving my engine trying to figure out the sound. Then a couple of the employees come up to me and tell me to pull around to one of the bays and they'll check it out. Half an hour later of them looking under the hood and under the car, they cant figure it out and tell me that I need to take it to a mechanic. I dont want to drive it very far w/ this terrible noise coming from the engine so I take it to a friends house nearby who works at an autobody shop in Lake City. He takes a look and it turns out there was a 10mm socket wrench that was dropped into my engine bay and ended up near my timing belt. This could've destroyed my engine if it moved around anywhere else. SO RIDICULOUS. I went back the next monday to tell them what happened and they gave me a full refund and $20 off my next oil change. Definitely not coming back though. read more

Three Strikes and they're out. Strike One: We had brought in our Kia for a routine oil change towards the end of June. The service was fast and friendly. We had no complaints. However, we had been noticing oil staining on our driveway recently. Our neighbor had been using our driveway, so we assumed it was from his car. However, we've been noticing the staining everywhere we had parked. I checked the oil yesterday and was shocked to see that the crank case was empty. ALL the oil had drained out! We took the car into our mechanic who informed us that the oil filter was "barely hanging on." It had not been properly tightened after the oil change. They charged us $96 for finding that out, giving us all new oil and a new oil filter. In essence, we did a second oil change due to Jiffy Lube's mistake. Strike Two: We complained to corporate and to the local management. After receiving a call and offer to remedy the issue, my wife came in with the requested documents (our invoice and receipt for the repair). Adam, the manager, was friendly and very apologetic. She was told that we would receive a check 5-10 business days later to cover our costs. Awesome, right? Well, we never received the check. Strike Three: It has been two and a half months since we raised this issue and we are still waiting for our promised check. I have sent another email (to local management and corporate), but a week later, no call, no response, no check. Sorry, Jiffy Lube, we are done with you. read more

This review has been really hard for me to write. I've put it off for several weeks now! So: Bad news, guys. I came in for my next oil change, and asked the manager to make sure they paid special attention to the transmission fluid, as I was beginning to have some signs of trouble with gear shifting. He promised that he would do that. IT WAS NOT CHECKED AT ALL, and they were talking to me about getting a much more expensive service done, and had told me the levels were fine. The paperwork they gave me even said so. As I was leaving, wondering how I was going to pay for transmission work (yikes!!), the guy who was behind the register came out and said he needed to check one more thing (though he was not the guy who did my oil change at all!) He saved the day (which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1), and filled up my transmission levels, which were very low! He shouldn't have had to save me from their shoddy and unethical practices. I welcome some feedback from the management here! In the meantime, know that their service is spotty (see my first review) and if you're feeling lucky, go there. If not, you may end up on the short end of the (unchecked, but lied about) dipstick! read more

They did change the oil and filter but used full synthetic without telling me why I need it. I have a low mileage car that doesn't need performance level oil. Could have gone with a basic non-synthetic or blend oil but they did it without explaining why. Also gave me the Signature service, which is your basic inspection of fluids, tires, air filters, etc which used to be done for free and I thought it WAS free until I saw the $41.95 charge on my receipt. Again, they didn't tell me that there was a charge and how much it would be. I was severely up sold, which was dishonest; they took advantage of my inexperience with cars. Ended up paying $100 for a simple oil change an another $40 for my cabin air filter, which they said was dirty but never showed it to me. As a result of this experience, I'm distrustful of Jiffy Lube. The only reason they get 2 stars is because they didn't break anything in my car...as far as I know. read more

I've now been sitting here for just about an hour and a half waiting for my oil to get changed. Just an oil change. I came in mentioning that I had received a card in the mail which would get me $25 off of my service, to which the attendant working replied "umm I can give you $20 off." When I reminded him that the card said $25 off, he said "okay okay I can give you $25 off." Why was that exchange necessary. Several people who arrived after me have left already. I have been in and out of a Jiffy Lube in roughly 20 minutes before. Overall, I am extremely not impressed and I will not be returning to this location for an oil change. I am also considering no longer going to Jiffy Lube for oil changes, since I have been lied to more times than I can count. Just because I am a female doesn't mean you can pull a quick one on me. One time a day or so after going to Pierre Ford service, all my tires registered a warning on the dashboard: Not at safe inflation levels! This was a Sunday and of course Pierre Ford service was not open but this Jiffy Lube was. Not only did the attendant inflate my tires to the proper level but he did not even charge me for it! This should quiet you whiners about being overcharged. They had a new customer right then and there. My "free service" agreement (you always get what you pay for) ran out at Pierre Ford so I now go to this Jiffy Lube for service. Am very pleased and will only go somewhere else if it's a service they can't perform. read more

Lyssa D. was my cashier who offered nothing more than unresponsive, sarcastic answers to my questions, explaining that the cost was more because the last time I took my car into this location "they did it wrong", leaving my car window open in the pouring rain, making me go back in to honor my coupon we previously discussed and when I mentioned that I was disappointed, left me with an unappolgetic and sarcastic "sorry" and nothing else. Came into this jiffylube in May. Paid for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. During the tire rotation, the power tool they used to unscrew the bolt on my wheel actually caused one of the bolts in the wheel to break. They offered to call their own mechanic shop to fix my wheel and replace the bolt or the option to go to meineke to get the job done and bring the invoice and bill to them. I got the wheel fixed for under 200 dollars and brought back the invoice and receipt that I paid to have the issue fixed. They still have not called me or contacted me. I have called multiple times and was told that the billing department takes a while to process something like this but it has been 2 months and 2 weeks and I have not received a call or correspondence. I also was not able to get a phone number to talk to anyone in that department in regards to my claim. It's giving me a headache. read more

Overall, as a chain, I really dislike Jiffy Lube, but I wanted to get my car's oil changed and do emissions testing on the same day, so making a quick stop at this location on my way north to the emissions place was the way to go. Service was friendly enough, and while the waiting room was depressing as they all are, at least the chairs were comfy. They also have a AAA discount, which is nice. My problem with them (all of them) is that they try to sell you things you don't need. "Your filter has stuff in it!" Yes-- the last time I checked, that is the purpose of a filter. Today he tried to convince me that my radiator was in desparate need of servicing because it hadn't been done for three years. Because my radiator is barely a year old, I know he was saying this based on the records, not any observation of my car. Statements like this always make me question everything else they say. Not a bad place to get your oil changed, but be skeptical of other things they try to convince you you need. read more
