I have gone there a few times and will not be going back. I went 6 months ago and after my oil change they mentioned I had a very bad oil leak. Which I thought was very weird. I said I would get it checked out. I leaked oil, but never got around to getting it fixed so I went back 3 months later for my next oil change. I was pretty low on oil so I wasn't leaking when I pulled in. They did my oil change and didn't mention the leak. My car magically stopped leaking oil. What we can take from this is that 6 months ago the workers here intentionally made my car leak oil, probably by not tightening things up all the way and the people who did my oil change 3 months after tightened everything correctly. Well, JL lost me as a customer today, for good. This location is close to where I live and right next to a grocery store so in years past, I'd used it for oil changes, shopping during the procedure to use that time wisely. But it was always such an ordeal AFTERWARDS to actually be allowed to PAY and LEAVE (apparently only a few employees have cash register privileges so if they're on break, you can cool your heels in the smelly, ice-cold waiting room for longer than it took for the oil change to be completed) that it had been a few years since I'd last used this location. I gave them another chance yesterday for an oil change and it was pretty painless except I was told my light bulbs were all fine and it became apparent after I drove away and it grew dark that the passenger side headlight was out. Went back today. They didn't have the bulb my car needed but could have one brought from the sister store in 20 minutes - was that okay? I said sure, went and lingered over picking up a few things at QFC, went back to Jiffy about 30 minutes later. No new headlight. After another ten minutes they called the shop where the part was coming from; were told it was "in transit." Long story short, 1 hour, 10 min after pulling in, I cut my losses, collected my keys and drove to my car's dealership about five miles away where a bulb was installed on the spot and I was charged $17.50 - a full ten bucks less than I'd been quoted for the part at JL. Word of advice to the Northgate Jiffy Lube - be kind to your customers when you're out of a part, just tell them you're out. Don't waste a big chunk of what might be their only day off that week (as today was for me) and if you do, at least act like it matters. read more

A few weeks after my last oil change the splash guard panel on the bottom of my Honda Fit fell off for the second time. When I went to the dealership to have them reinstall it they told me the most likely explanation is the last time my oil was changed they didn't put all the hardware back on. All those clips and screws just don't fall off by themselves. I gave two stars instead of one because I can't prove it read more

I had a great experience at this Jiffy Lube. I noticed that my tire pressure was low (thank you Subaru Forester dashboard). Jiffy Lube Northgate was happy to help. I know that tires are round, made of rubber, and full of air. That's all. So, I asked if I could watch the process. Alright, I gotta say it: "I have never ever had good service at Jiffy Lube and I swore I'd never come back!" But I really needed my oil changed and other places nearby were booked. However, my experience today has changed my mind. These dudes were super friendly and did NOT try to upsell me on anything. They were busy on a Thursday afternoon but I was in and out in less than an hour, and I had an oil change, as well as a fluid flush and a fuel filter servicing. They honored 2 coupons that saved me about $60, plus they let me keep them for next time. The last JL I went to lied about the type of oil that I "needed", and I called them on it. The JL dudes here admitted that I didn't need that oil that was practically forced on me (but I didn't get it) and that I could go with cheaper, standard oil. They also went above and beyond and checked my tires, washed my windows, and vacuumed my floor mats. I think I have finally found a place that I can trust, and that I will come back to next time. No coffee in the pot, but there's a Starbucks across the parking lot; it's my only gripe. That's pretty good. Nice work, Jiffy Lube. You have created a return customer. read more

The guys here are really great. Got a standard oil change for which I requested the cheapest oil that would work for my car. Yes, they tried to give me the more expensive oil at first, but didn't hassle me when I asked for the cheaper oil that my manufacturer recommends. I brought in my own air filter (less than $20 at an O'Reilly's and cheaper online) and they did the installation for free. When I pulled up, the worker noticed a chip in my windshield and let me know that my insurance would pay to repair the crack without any repercussions. They gave my insurance a call to make sure my coverage was current and the insurance person assured me everything was on the up and up. Can't comment on the wait since I went to have brunch after I dropped off my car, but the staff here is really great. Minus a star because I'm not sure they put air in my tires like I asked, but it's not that big of a deal. Probably just slipped their mind. read more

I think Jiffy Lube is trying really hard to makeover its image from one of unfriendly and not so jiffy - to one of friendly customer service. I was quite surprised the last time I was there (just a week ago) where all the employees were really friendly and helpful. It was a noticeable difference. In terms of the actual service, it's hard to say since it's just an oil change. But I did appreciate the extra effort in vaccuuming the car. read more

Logan went above and beyond, for my daughter who relocated to Seattle from Iowa! She had a vehicle overheating! I called from Des Moines and explained the situation! He was as helpful as he could be! Discussed what similar experiences he had with this situation, how he handled it and some suggestions! She showed up about 30 minutes later, he rushed out, had someone else change the oil and he looked at the over-heating issue! Topped it off, did some bleeding work, and gave her some things to look for, and off she went! We talked later, gave me his thoughts and said to call any time! Oh, and Jiffy Lube does not do the mechanical work she might need, so there was no fear of him wanting more business! If you are relocated and need someone to trust, Logan would be the guy! I visited the North Gate Seattle Location and was disappointed. The employees there did NOT honor the scope of the signature service. They did less while conveniently not forgetting to propose cost additions to the service. They appeared to use "Covid" as the excuse to not do certain things that were supposed to be covered under their "signature" service. They had to be reminded to check and air in the tires and did not wash the windows - what do those two basic aspects of their signature service have to do with Covid? They also did not vacuum the car. That part I could understand due to Covid but than why don't they discount the service if they are infact doing less just the same as they increase their price for their proposed scope additions? Why is the Covid thing an excuse to get by with doing less without discounting the service? This slimming down of the work scope while charging the same price under the guise of Covid leaves a bad taste in my mouth - what else did they NOT do in their basic work scope? I won't be back as my confidence in the scope and quality of their work along with their honesty is quite shaken. read more

My issue has to deal with the fact that my CSA who I've actually had a year ago at another site wasn't very helpful. Due to COVID, we were social distancing. Indiron S., seemed as personable as the last time I saw him but similarly in a rush. Last year when he serviced my car I had the opportunity to stop him before checkout to apply coupons. This year he told me because I was paying with card I couldn't come in to pay, and I didn't make a fuss. Once he came back I asked to use a coupon and was told there was no way he could adjust the sale, a flat out lie. Returns can be processed and we are in a pandemic, every bit counts especially when because of the age of my car, an oil change starts at 70$. He gave me some song and dance about putting a credit on my account, but I doubt he actually did it the way he was rushing people on after service, and rushing me out the way. All in all really disappointed he didn't even inquire without me having to ask about coupons and driving home the idea that if you're a female, these guys are gonna try to get over on you. Update: The following day I received a call from the manager, Johnathan Garner, who was very polite, and we spoke about the incident. He took the necessary steps to educate his personnel on how to do a return and credited me back some of the money I paid on the oil change, which I truly appreciate. He also spoke of understanding the need to make sure to ask about coupons, and be mindful we are in a pandemic all while offering speedy and helpful service. I appreciate that he saw this review and took the time to reach out, and make me feel heard. That alone is making me revise my review and recommend anyone come to this site of Jiffy Lube. Literally the worst customer service I've ever had at this northgate location. They put my windshield wipers on and with in the first time having to use them they flew off my car and scratched my windshield. Now as soon as I called they said they could give me a refund for my service. Welp here I am over a month later I call and try and speak with a manager because I still haven't received my refund check and they always just tell me they will call me back. Never hear from them. Just called again and the person did not put me on hold so I heard them tell everyone I was bitching about blah blah blah. So rude cant even believe this is something I have to deal with at a jiffy lube since they've been doing my stuff for years. read more

Got in around 8:30 on a Saturday morning so wait time was only 15 minutes. They did try to up sell the oil change, offered to replace the air filter, and lights, etc. all standard things to add, but I said no. There wasn't any push after that, which was nice. Oil changes are as serious as a coma. I mean, do you know the kind of grime that's about to be exposed in your air filter when these guys get a gander at it? Sure, it's a filter, but. Holy jesus is that unsafe. They'll pull it out for you and show you. It's filthy man. Also they're hip to all the best practice service recommendations that need to be done at however many miles for your particular lowrider's make and model, and whether or not you trust in them is entirely up to you and your disposable income. So my advice is to go in there with the sweet, sweet taste of "no" on your lips because you're likely going to need it to deflect the Space Invader-like volley of upsells you'll get (coolant, radiator filters--in fact, filters are just a big party hit at Jiffy--filter changes galore). It's okay; to me they're a known quantity. I've gone there pretty consistently for years and never had a problem with their oil change (but they may shake their heads with the terrible gravity of a kingdom lost to battle or a distant village charred to oblivion knowing that you're going with the basic, non-synthetic oil which is not going to coddle your engine with fresh irises, nighttime whiskey sours and sexually suggestive lower glute massages the way the 90-dollar one does.) It will trouble them--you can plainly see they won't feel right all day about your devil-may-care approach to maintenance. You'll have to be strong to weather the judgment. That said, they cleaned last week's dried Chinese takeout spill off the front passenger seat without complaining, whereas the best you could get out of any of us was to put an ancient piece of math homework over it and then sit right atop it like it wasn't there. So when did Jiffy Lube become such a hassle? It used to be 19.99, now its 39.99.. Than they tag on some random fees and taxes and you cant walk out under about 50 bux. Than you get abused with the 10 items they suggest you fix. I took in one car and had a bad experience with this oversell. Than I take in my truck and they do the same thing. They say my serpentine belt needs replacement. But when I asked what was wrong, they said there are cracks in it, but couldnt show me where they saw them. They then retracted that suggestion, but pushed hard on my radiator flush. Really? This is pretty bad...This isnt tough work, 20-30 bux with no hassles sounds like a better fit to me. read more

They immediately took my car into the garage. I assumed the work would be done in a timely manner. Then I ended up waiting for 45 minutes for an oil change. They told me that my car needed synthetic oil even though it never did before. They also pushed me to change filters etc. Final bill was near $100. Next time I will go to the dealership. Buyer beware! They told me that my radiator fluid was low and my transmission fluid was dirty. I called my mechanic to double check if these services were due. Nope, as a matter of fact, my new timing belt and water pump were replaced 4,000 miles ago, so neither are even close to due. The manager said that the radiator fluid might be low due to a common air bubble. I asked then why are you recommending a radiator flush? He couldnt explain why i was told that my transmission fluid was dirty. It was a lie. Stay away! read more

I don't trust these guys. I got an oil change there right before embarking on a 2000 mile drive. After driving about 600 miles I decided to check the oil...wish I had do so when I was still in Seattle! There was a lot of oil around the oil cap...looked like they seriously overfilled the oil. Moreover, they destroyed the plastic surrounding the dipstick...now I cannot even insert the dipstick all the way in to get an accurate gauge of the oil. Mistakes happen--but I think they should have told me they destroyed part of my dipstick. The people there seemed nice enough, but at least someone there seemed to be too much in a hurry. I had a very interesting experience at this Jiffy Lube location last night. Just so this is at the top when people see it, my experience at this Jiffy Lube with Dakota, who was helping me, and the rest of the crew that worked on my car was absolutely top notch. I am extremely satisfied with the service I received from the hard working employees here, but something unexpected and out of their control happened that made the whole thing a bit of an ordeal. The full story I will tell below revolves around Dakota, and I was genuinely in awe that he was able to remain calm, poised, and professional throughout this situation. I will ALWAYS come back to this location as long as he works here. This story is quite lengthy with all of the details so buckle up, it's going to be a long ride. I had two errands I was in a hurry to run last night: an oil change and a quick trip to Best Buy. Dakota was very friendly and checked me in promptly, telling me that because of a couple cars ahead of me, the oil change should take about 45 minutes. Perfect! I ran to Best Buy and was back exactly 45 minutes later, greeted by the pleasant sight of my car sitting outside the work bay completed. I walked into the lobby and there was a gentleman checking out ahead of me so I took a seat. This is where it gets really interesting. A woman walks in only moments behind me, and with a complete disregard for Dakota, the customer at the counter, and myself, she starts loudly berating him and demanding to be "checked out immediately." Dakota managed to calm her down long enough for him to complete his transaction with the man at the counter, while she stood in the corner staring him down. When the first customer was finished, I started to get up as I knew my car was done, that I was next in line, and that my transaction would be swift. However, as I stood up, the irate woman nearly knocked me over as she stormed up to the counter to continue her piercing rant. This awful woman, who was well dressed and I am guessing in her late 30s, proceeded to ruthlessly berate Dakota for 15 straight minutes, which is in no way an exaggeration. I won't get into the details of the downright mean things she said to him, but she seemed to feel it was her God-given right to treat this kind, vibrant young man like a piece of garbage. He took it all, he tried over and over again to explain their policies and why they don't offer appointments or reservations at specific times, and how they need to complete all of their work by closing time. This woman was having none of it. The Jiffy Lube phone rang and Dakota had to answer it because that is his job, and he apologized to the woman before picking up the call. While he was on the phone with the customer, she actually escalated her demands and continued the onslaught of insults while Dakota did his best to help the customer on the phone while simultaneously reassuring the woman that he would get her checked out soon. After the 15 minutes of full volume tirade, they were able to complete the transaction and this heartless, evil woman offered him this one last tidbit of advice on her way out."You are just a little boy, you don't know anything, and you are bad at your job. You need to grow up and learn how to treat customers with respect. You'll get older, you'll see that I'm right." I immediately walked up to the counter and reassured Dakota that he handled the situation perfectly, and proceeded to tell him my unfiltered opinion of that woman. I had actually become pretty irate with HER myself, because not only was she tearing down another human being for no reason right in front of me, she also cut me off in line and was costing me a lot of precious time! It took every bit of patience I had not to intervene ain this interaction, and had Dakota faltered even once or been backed into a corner, I absolutely would have. But I didn't have to, because he was flawless in his execution of good customer service. Flawless. Dakota gave me the quick version of what had lead to the ordeal we both had just experienced. Apparently she had called ahead and was told that they were not very busy at that moment, which was true, but several other cars arrived in the 30+ minutes it took her to get there. They close at 7 and because of the sudden rush, she was told that they probably would not be able to get to her car after all. She became irate and the employees responded by making a one-time exception and squeezing her in, making their night much harder in the process. Her car was done in approximately 20 minutes and for some unknown reason she felt compelled to spend more time yelling at the employees than they took to change her oil. Once he had a moment to gather himself, Dakota was right back to his friendly self. He got me checked out swiftly and we kind of bonded a little over the whole experience. To say that Dakota impressed me would be a vast understatement, and I would patron any business where he was employed. read more

Terrible company!!! Very sketchy!!! I went in for an oil change because my brother recommended them and they bombarded me with things my car didn't need. They showed me a dirty filter full of leaves and grime. My car is fairly new and I checked my filter a week before that and my filter didn't look like that. In the end they overcharged me for my oil change and I paid about $70 or so. I thought it would be half the cost like $29.99 as advertised. I spoke to a good friend of mine who is a mechanic down in LA and found out they are notorious for being shady and saying they changed the filter and did the oil change when nothing was done to the car. People think they're efficient for a reason. They need to meet a quota and they cheat people by trying to tack on 9 or more things your car doesn't need. Don't use this company ever!!! All I need is an oil change. Please stop trying to up sell. "Your radiator fluid is low." Bull, it was just refilled and look at the reservoir. "Your serpentine belt is cracked." Just look at it, it's not. I have no problem with a mechanic recommending that something get fixed but the Northgate Jiffy Lube just lies to your face. I give this place 2 stars for not hurting my car during the oil change and being very polite during the attempts at over charging. While I was there, I watched them up sell a guy whose English was poor. When he went to pay his bill, he had no idea what all the charges were. It was pretty sad to watch him get taken advantage of. I went to Jiffy Lube thinking I would get a fairly cheap, fast oil change. I was completely wrong. This was, by far, the most expensive oil change I have ever gotten - and I drove a Volkswagen for four years! When entering in my information, the guy told me I had two choices of oil. I said that I wanted the cheapest. He kept telling me that he could not tell me which one to get. He made it seem like I could only choose between two options. $85 later, I left with an oil change. When I realized how much it would cost, I started reading the reviews on Yelp and realized I should have started here. Just got back from getting an oil change at the Jiffy Lube on Northgate Way. I already knew about their aggressive selling tactics. I was very clear with the dude that checked me and my car in that I wanted the cheapest oil used. My car is a '93 Toyota Camry that due to age and miles leaks oil. I put few miles on and do lots of stop and go driving. So when the dude wanted to sell me the synthetic oil, I told him I had no use for it. Comes time to ring me up and the bill is $68.00!!!!!!!!!! REALLY???? I look at the manager (I think he was the manager) straight in the eyes and said what is this all about....$68.00 for an oil change? He said "you wanted the more expensive oil". I just about screamed and shouted in there saying "I told the guy I wanted the CHEAPEST oil since my car would leak it all out in a matter of eight weeks!!! The cashier/manager dude looked shocked and ruffled and immediately said he would take care of it and brought the total down to $39.00 plus tax. This behavior is fraudulent and so sleazy. Did the guy who checked my car in think I was a ditz because I was an older woman? How dare he try to outsmart me! I do not have dementia....yet! It is too bad, these guys operate this way. Why would I trust them to deal with a radiator flush or anything else when they pull this crap? I won't be back. I would rather wait the same amount of time at my long time mechanic's garage (about 90 minutes) than to wait in Jiffy Lube's "Detention Center", and then have them attempt to rip me off.
