Was charged twice for service on 1/24. I immediately called after leaving and was told by Melanie M. she would contact me after speaking to her district manager. After not receiving a call I stopped by and showed her I was billed twice and she told me to come back tomorrow and speak to her district manager. When I asked why they couldn't just do a refund she said "I cant" when I asked for her managers number she said "no" come back tomorrow and very rudely walked away from me. At the time I paid I asked Melanie why is she charging my card again if I already paid. She said that's the way we do it. She clearly doesn't know what she is doing and treated me very rudely. Just moved to the area and wanted to give these guys a shot but sadly they couldn't figure out how to remove my drain plug without stripping it and didn't have a replacement (like most stores keep in stock). Grateful they warned me before doing the work but they should more capable of handing this stuff since it's common on Fords. Also the service advisor had no mask. Through looking at the reviews of this Jiffy Lube prior to going, I was hesitant to bring my car in. After service was complete, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism given by the service clerk and how meticulously the technicians completed the services I requested. Furthermore, rather than gouging me for money, they also recommended that I not complete a service I had asked for to mitigate further damage that would have been caused if they attempted to lift my car (my car is old). I've seen extreme ratings for jiffy lube both ways. My experience was really good. I've had both oil change and some AC work done. The oil change was fast, efficient and they did not seem to try to upsell. I also timed my visits well before their closing time. The AC work was a little more involved. I have an AC leak. Their vacuum test did not reveal the leak but the tech could tell there was a problem and knew it would be a lot more in-depth. Rather than doing hundreds of dollars in diagnostic work, he stopped after the vacuum test and recommended that I bring g my vehicle to a place that specializes in AC work. And to my surprise they did not charge me the $75 fee for the initial diagnostics. This impressed me greatly and makes me willing to bring more to them because the tech knew their ability level based on the time allowed and the equipment they have in their shop. The Jiffy Lube website concerning Covid says that customers are encouraged to stay in their cars while being serviced. So, I looked forward to that option. I went to the Valley Pike Jiffy in Winchester, VA. When I got there I was told that I would not have that option, unless I wanted to wait "a while" for a specific bay. This location used to be Snappy Lube and you were allowed to be inside your car during the oil change, so I know that there isn't some design issue. This experience was truly terrible. I needed an oil change and a headlight. Simple enough. 1 hr of work max. I asked the guy at check in if I could work out while they serviced my vehicle at the planet fitness in the same shopping plaza and he said sure. I just needed to specify what I needed to the woman at the register before I walked over there. I went inside and no one showed up at the register to ask what service I needed. I waited 20 minutes for someone to come in and tell me that they couldn't do the oil because the previous mechanic damaged the drain plug. Fair enough I though. Then I waited another 30 minutes while four guys looked at my head light. They pulled my car out and told me I could go. I said I needed to pay for my headlight and they said with no explanation as to why they couldn't do it. So I wasted almost an hour to get no work done on my car, I got no work out, and no explanation as to what was wrong with the headlight. It was a total waste of a Sunday afternoon. read more

This will be a very short review. All I'm going to say is BEFORE you drain someones oil make sure your have the oil in stock to replace it. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry but after 9 hours at work and an hour commute that extra 30 minutes I had to wait for oil really wasn't at the top of my list of things I wanted to do. Other than that when the oil got there it was put in correctly so I can't complain about that part. read more

This is my first review on yelp. So this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Normally I change my own oil, But I was going away on annual training with the national guard, so I had my wife get the oil changed when I got back two weeks later I had low oil pressure and knocking in the engine in a 2 year old Toyota pick up truck with less than 100,000 miles. I checked oil and I didn't even register on the dipstick. Went around with management with i can't prove it was their fault. I ended up replacing the rod, and main bearings to get it to last a little longer. A couple years later I spoke to a manager that worked for Jiffy Lube that was in the National Guard with me and he told me that this was common that guys would dry pump a car and not check the oil level. This happens when the oil barrel has gone dry and the technician selects the number of quarts of oil to be pumped in but it pumps air. I guess my wife could of checked the oil but that's why she paid them. This happened in the late 90's don't know if they have put safety measures in and don't care read more

I've gone here multiple times for oil changes, each time was fine. I see mixed reviews but I've always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I've always had fast service even when they are busy. We typically walk over to Roy's or Trop Smoothie for a bite to eat when they are slammed- and each time the car has been done when we got back, so I don't have any complaints on that. I don't know if this is a local or corporate issue, but I feel like I need to share what happened with people planning to go there and sit in the waiting room. I filled out my information on a card and entered into the sweepstakes box at Jiffy Lube. I received a voicemail on Sunday afternoon saying I won and they would call me back at 5:40pm. I was so excited! Some lady called and I had won a $200 Jiffy Lube gift card and a three day trip to Massanutten Resort. Great! She started asking me "survey" questions about my last vacation, then spent the next 10 minutes telling me about how great Massanutten was. (While my dinner got cold.) That's when it started getting fishy. After her clearly rehearsed spiel, she asked for my credit card so she could charge me a $75 deposit that would be refunded once I got to the resort. I told her I wouldn't be doing that and she HUNG UP on me. I can't believe Jiffy Lube would be a part of this. They sold my information and I will never go to them again. I needed an oil change. I decided to go to the jiffy lube in Kernstown. I asked the guy if I could sit in the car. it is Covid 19. He says no but you can get in the passenger seat. He has no mask nothing. I was like what the heck? so I said no! bye! I called the one in Winchester on pleasant valley and talked to some guy named Richard. He assured me I would not have to get out the car. When I get there I am asked questions through the window then I let the guy scan the vin on the inside of the door. Then the guy says I have to get out.....I am like wtf? For what? I tell him the guy I talk to on the phone said I didn't have to get out. He said no that is wrong. It is like they trying to give you Covid or something. So I have my mask on and I get out and literally walk 7 feet into the bay to watch the guy get on the computer and update info....I am like wtf? are these people crazy? Okay then finally the man directs me into the bay after he explains in stupid terms what his hand signals mean duh? This is after the man who took the information tells me if I hit something driving into the shop my insurance will pay for it!!!! okay I get it done after they have to take your keys before they can work on changing your oil....again touching,covid!!!! after the job is done I now have to get out the car and go inside and pay!!!!! This is so idiotcrissy to the 10th power. I am never going there again...and to add insult to injury all of these people had gloves on but no MASKS!!!! This place is horrible. They took less than 10 minutes changing my oil; did the work and then the manager told me "it's leaking so much oil you have so many leaks" .... okay so why didn't you tell me this FIRST then you expect me to pay you for leaking oil? He didn't care , he yelled at me and made me feel horrible and had no customer service professionalism at all. The associate did more than he did ! The associate should be the manager because this guy has such a horrible approach and just wants money from people and get them out the door. he literally argued with me and didn't want to do anything to help me .. I already had a $10 coupon to use and he only gave $5 more off with the coupon. Absolutely horrible. After this incident, I deserved to atleast get a better discount or something. I used to appreciate the service at this location. In fact, in the past, I would drive to this location versus one 20 miles closer to my home. After my last visit, however, I am prepared to save the gas and the headache! I drove in at 4:55, unaware that they closed at 5:00 pm on Saturday (which is way too early). I have traditionally been greeted in the back. I waited there for three minutes, and then a serviceman showed up and said they were closed. Someone in the bay said something, and the greeter screamed "What?" No response. Hoping he was telling the greeter to bring me in to the bay for a last minute job, I hung around long enough for him to twice more yell "What?!!" Still, no response. Finally the greeter looked back to me and said, "Yeah, we're closed." Previously I would have rated them 4 or 5 stars. I did not know they closed so early. I would not have intentionally showed up right before the close of business. But before the close of business is still before the close of business, whether by 5 minutes or 5 hours. This illustrated they value leaving work over servicing a customer, and that was intolerable. I am looking for a new company for my future service needs. read more

I have been taking my car there for oil changes since I bought my car 4 years ago. I tried to loosen the oil drain plug and it will not budge. I took it to a service station to see if they could get it, same result. I called this location to see if they use power tools to tighten the plugs and they insist they don't. They told me I can bring it by and they can break it loose and will replace the plug if it is damaged. Why in the world would I want to take it to the same place that screwed it up in the first place? I did speak to the general manager and they did make it right. I was still out more money than the cost of an oil change after buying a new drain plug. I will give them another chance with my oil changed. The staff was very courteous and professor during my visit. read more

These guys do a great job. Quick, jiffy even, and they do a great job without trying to upsell you. They tell you what is on schedule to do, and give you the option without pressure. When they can't perform something they tell you, for example on my car it was due for a Transmission Flush they looked at it, decided they couldn't do it adequately and recommended I go to the dealership. My visit there was just a bad experience. Although my oil was changed (I presume), the staff there just was not interested - whatsoever. No cleaning windows, no vacuuming, no resetting of my "maintenance needed" light, no fluids top-off (where I could check), no reminder windshield sticker leaving me to question if the 8 point "standard" lube job was accomplished. I will never know. When I called back to give the local manager some constructive feedback, all I got was "and you just noticed this now??"... I had called 3 hours after my "service" was done since I got busy at work. I can live without the cleaning, sticker, etc., but it is the lack of interest from the folks there that has solidified my opinion that Jiffy will never Lube any of my cars in the future. They only want to use in house oil for oil changes which is overpriced. I have a 2013 Nissan Maxima and they charged $142 for an oil and filter change yet I have had the same done in Rolesville, NC for $35 and the Nissan dealer I went to even said they would have charged only $59 with a tire rotation and alignment to boot. The people there are nice but so I do not blame them but I do blame the corporate policy that seems in my opinion is to rip people off. They took my car, changed my oil, and did exactly as I asked! No pulling air filters and checking fluid levels trying to nickel and dime me. Passing through town and I needed an oil change. Since this was the only place open on my limited time schedule I didn't have much choice. I was quoted just over $40 as I pulled up. The guy advised he was going to check my differentials as well as some other things and I told him not to bother as they had been checked recently. He came back and said I needed a top up on my coolant... Whatever, a couple of extra bucks and I didn't have to stop at Walmart. He then tells me that there is water in my brake lines, a lot of water. I haven't had any problems with my brakes and its a new car. I tell him not to touch my brakes. He then said that my filter is dirty and showed me a rectangular filter that looks like someone wiped grease on it. I've always changed my own filter so I knew it shouldn't look like that but would rather change it myself later then pay the guy for messing it up. This is a new car though so I didn't even realize until after I left that my car doesn't even have a rectangular filter! At this point I make it clear that I just want the oil change completed. He rung me up and said the price was now more than $60. I asked how that was possible and he said I didn't specify so they put the expensive oil in it.... But he would take that off if I insisted?! Why isn't it possible to go into a mechanics shop without having to bypass a bunch of scams? Don't these guys want repeat business? read more

Took vehicle for oil change. They broke dipstick and didn't take responsibility. They claimed that the dipstick melted.....but yet there was no signs of that being the case. Took the car down the street to pep boys and they removed the broken dipstick along with a screw that they used to try and pull the stick out. Questionable integrity, poor customer service and overall bad experience. Will go out of my way to avoid this place and will let others know of this horrible experience. My wife was dismissed and told to go to s dealer to get it taken care of, as she also handled a 1 yr old and a 6 yr old child. pep boys stayed open an extra 30 minutes to help and fix the problem. read more

This was my 1st visit to this location (new to Winchester) and my experience was great! Only had to wait about 15 min (WAY faster than I expected, there were others waiting inside when I got there). They didn't push additional services on me, which I GREATLY appreciated. I'm a car chick; I KNOW what my car needs/doesn't need, I can do an oil change and a few other things, I just don't want to if I can get someone else to do it! REALLY hate when that normally happens. I *get* it's a business out to make money, but if I want other services I'll ask for them from the get-go. I went in, sat down, and 15 min later it was done. Richard did my invoice/payment, was very friendly, again didn't push any other services on me, walked me to my car, opened my door, and gave me a nice smile and handshake and said thanks for using JL. Totally professional and kind, and MUCH appreciated!! Will be using this location in the future for additional services as well. Yes it's a bit more $$$ than other places; but I am willing to pay for convenience (vs making appointment at dealer and waiting hours for what doesn't take long to do). This place is the poorest excuse for a business i have ever experienced in my life. I went in for a general oil change, and a simple tire rotation. Was told that I needed to have my brake fluid flushed and replaced with new, so I did just that considering, my family and I would be traveling long distance in the following weekend. Came in at 12:00 noon, and didn't get out of this Place until 6:00 p.m. When I arrived the place was empty. Went over with a gentlemen, what service I needed done, and a plan was in place. Was told that as far as the brake fluid change, it would be an extra 20 to 30 minutes wait, so I said fine I'd go next door and have some lunch. Return to the establishment at 1:00 p.m., and discovered my Jeep was moved to a new work area (bin). Was told they move it after the oil change and service to the new bin for tire rotations and to flush the brakes. Sat in the waiting area for another hour so now it's 2:00. Finally some one shows up and starts working on my Jeep. At around 2:45, one of the mechanics approached me in the waiting area and said during the process of doing the tire rotation, they stripped out two of the lug nuts on my spacer for my lifted Jeep. However, they promised they weren't gonna let me leave like that they are gonna fix it. I said okay good. They took from about 2:45 to 6:00 to find the parts and get it fixed. Really to me this is the worse example of how a business should be ran. The work ethic is horrible, and the customer service and management is horrific. I waisted an entire six hours of my time for a procedure that should have only taken no more then one hour. This was totally uncalled for. I would suggest NO ONE, I mean NO ONE ever get their oil changed at this Jiffy Lube on Pleasant Valley, in Winchester Virginia. You will regret it if you do! Horrible place! read more
