A once reliable shop turned to the dark side. My car has been there 14 days. They have called me maybe 2 - 3 times, and when I call in to inquire, employees Emily and Daniel lie to me on behalf of their boss Jason, who won't speak to me after taking in the car. Pretending to be waiting for 4 days on extended warranty company answer but that company shows they waited 4 days to call in repair request. Why the need to lie? Missed 3 drop dead deadlines I need to have that car back for medical appts. Friend drove me over to the shop to check on the car, they thought that night or next business day. Nope. Did not discuss how to repair new problem they say they found, need for new catalytic converter. Arguing with parts company that sent wrong part to determine who is at fault but not getting the part or keeping me informed. Customer since about 2016 and they have repaired 100 cars ahead of mine in the second half of July. Would you trust them or risk them doing this to you, randomly? read more

I had my truck inspected at another garage, needed both sides upper ball joints. At that garage I was only given the bad news with no offer to do the repairs. My son has been using Winchester Foreign and Domestic Auto Repair for sometime and suggested giving them a call. On Tuesday they said bring it in and probably have it finished by Thursday evening. After dropping it off they called back shortly with a very reasonable estimate. Called me Wednesday afternoon and said it was ready, picked it up Thursday morning repairs were complete, front end alignment and new state inspection. These guys make a auto repair experience a pleasure with great work and professionalism. You will not regret doing business here! read more

Went to this place for the first time in the summer of 2015 as an alternative to a dealer repair. My ac fan had stopped blowing. Not only did they repair it they saved me about $400 compared to the dealer cost repair. They offered to drive me home while the repair was being done but I live way out so instead I asked them to drop me at the mall. Saw a movie and then they picked me up and the repair was done. Then yesterday (2/1/16) several things happened. The side mirror fell off my car (just the mirror), a headlight went out and my cd player stopped working with 6 library cds stuck in there. I had to go to town anyway so thought I would stop by and see if they could replace the headlight. They did replace the headlight, glued the mirror back on and put air in my tires and suggested to keep an eye on the air in the tires. I hadn't noticed my tires even needed air but I could tell it drove differently after the air was put in them. The owner also gave me a name for a mobile audio repair for fixing my cd player. For all this I paid only for the small labor amount to replace the headlight and the cost of the headlight. I was in/out in under 40 mins including time for the glue to dry on the mirror. My car is a 2004 Honda CRV and it is great knowing there is a place I can take it to where I don't feel like they are taking advantage of me. I'm 65 and female and could be easy taken advantage of in that situation. This will be my go to place for any auto maintenance or repairs needed. The office is cozy with a beautiful aquarium, very nice and clean bathrooms, K cup coffee, books, and wifi. Highly recommend this place. What more could you ask for? read more

I went down to Winchester VA to look at a used car on a dealer's lot. I know enough about cars but wanted to take it somewhere where I could get it up on a rack and give it a thorough check before I decided to make an offer of purchase. The folks at Winchester Foreign and Domestic were busy when I arrived but noted that I came from far away and they would squeeze me in real quick. They gave me a chance to look at the car, advised me on things that may need attention, and were very honest, thorough and not at all condescending. Based on the information they gave me I was able to make an educated decision. When it was all said and done I asked "how much do I owe you?" The response was "No charge for a pre-purchase inspection, we just like to help." I couldn't believe it. Great job by Anthony and the other guys over at this shop. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a good, honest mechanic to deal with. read more

Owner is nice, reasonable price to fix my coolant leak. 2 stars because picked up the vehicle and tire was completely flat 5 seconds into driving off the lot and got stuck in the pouring rain, attempted to change to my spare tire but realized I didn't have a tire iron, which I know this shop can't control - but not happy with customer service. When I called in the next morning after leaving my vehicle there, there was a total lack of empathy, didn't hear a "oh I'm sorry to hear that" or anything of that sort. Just "we'll look at it, where are the keys?". They said it was the chords of the back tire that are showing and that's the reason it's flat, which has yet to be verified. Asked twice for photos of the chords showing and they said they would send them and ultimately never did. Emily, the receptionist, seemed to have to a little power rush from the small authority that she had by making snide remarks, like "I bet this is why you couldn't pass inspection, huh?" And repeatedly interrupted me while I was speaking. Also tried accusing me of breaking into other vehicles when I simply peaked in the back of an open bed pick up truck to see if there was a tire iron by any chance, since again, i was stuck in the pouring rain. New to the area, so that's why I haven't had the safety inspection completed as of yet. If it hadn't been for Emily's rudeness, the conversation could have gone differently and I probably would have paid for 2 new tires. The only reason that I didn't give this business 1 star is because the owner came out to clear things up and said that there must have been a miscommunication about me accusing them of causing my flat tire, which was not the case, and also agreed it was a weird coincidence that the tire went flat right when I left and was fine earlier that day when they did the final test drive. read more

Only place in town I went to/called that was able to do an inspection in less than an hour and a half. It only took 15 minutes. Nice cozy waiting room. I just moved to Virginia and had my new plates sitting in the front seat. Upon seeing them they asked if I would like them to put them on quick. Even though it was a small thing it was very nice of them. I have another vehicle that needs to get registered in VA and I will be bringing it to them to get inspected as well. Great job! read more

I was driving from PA to NC for an interview the next day and my alternator went out in Virginia. I called AAA and got a tow truck that was originally going to take me to a different garage - who had told me that they probably wouldn't be able to look at my car that day (as their techs leave at 5). On the recommendation of my (awesome) tow truck driver, he took me to Winchester Foreign and Domestic instead and called them while we were on our way with all the info. The guys there were friendly and just great - they had the new alternator already on it's way, immediately began working on my car, and stayed late to finish it up for me. I was in and out of the garage and back on my way in under an hour! I was so grateful and would recommend this garage 100 times over!! read more
