I went in to Jim $ Tracy's to get an alignment. I first went to a different shop. The first shop told me to take it to the dealer. That was out of the question. Ty truck has a upgraded suspension. I went in to Jim & Tracy's. They were very professional, low key, explaining the process. The next day I took my truck in for the alignment. I was in and out in 1.5 hours. Very reasonable price. My review is to compliment the Jim & Tracy's Alignment team's customer service. I spoke with a female (not including names to protect privacy) in the office twice who always greeted me, identified herself by name, and was friendly, helpful and professional. While many of us expect this behavior as a business courtesy, it is not as common as it should be. I called to get a copy of a report for service from over a year (15 months) prior and the female team member along with a male service person were able to locate the report and quickly provide a copy by email. My daughter's Jeep was in the shop getting engine work, my daily driver was just rear ended and undrivable when our family van decided to give up the ghost on our way back from a baseball tournament with 150 miles still to go before we were home. After a very expensive tow back to the house I prepared for the dreaded weeklong wait to get the car in the shop to get it fixed. Just a quick word to the wise..... be very cautious when you go in for alignment and they call you up to the counter and inform you that they can't perform an alignment because the suspension is shot and they give you an estimate of a bazillion dollars including an alignment. Yesterday I took a truck in and got the bad news. $3600 including 8 hours labor and an alignment. I priced out the parts as estimated an ordered them for $565. They were all MOOG suspension parts so I suspect they are decent quality. The ball joint and control arms comes as one piece. I watched the remove and replace on YouTube and I'm not seeing 8 hours up on a hoist doing this job. I'll time myself. Maybe it's legit but I'm scratching my head. Today I took my wife's car in for an alignment. Same story only it was $3700 today which included struts. Those would be the struts that were replaced last year. Again, I am scratching my head. I wrote a list of what needed to be looked at and instead they gave us a list of stuff that we already knew what was going to need to be done. We just wanted to take it on a weekend trip tires needed to be looked at and they didn't even look at wires that were hanging down below. If I could give zero stars I would, they had my truck for almost 7 months never got fixed. Horrible customer service from the office ladies (found out after thats because there daughters of the owners) when we picked it up to finally take to laurel Ford, the battery was so dead it had to be jumped to get onto the trailer and then to get off. Also the service guys left an old oil pan on my bed cover leaving a permanent stain. I called after we left asking for the owner and managers name and phone number and was told I cannot have that because it's personal information. DO NOT COME HERE! Ever wonder after bringing your vehicle in for work if it was done right or even done at all? Save you the wonder here, total hack job. I brought my truck in for a basic mechanical issue. Not only was it not fixed, upon tearing into the issue myself I discovered numerous misplaced bolts, wrong sized bolts, old gaskets that should have been replaced etc. I paid over $600.00 for labor here and returned to allow them to make things right but showed zero empathy. You may see good reviews for tires etc. but beyond that this place is sketchy and has poor business practices! read more

Learned the camper I had bought didn't have the "new" tires we thought it had. Discovered a slice in one of them and stopped at Jim's to have them look them over. My experience with Jim & Tracy's started out well. I was in a little traffic accident and the valve stem on my tire was leaking air, so I took the tire to them and they replaced the valve stem free of charge. Great way to encourage more business. I put the tire back on my truck and drove it a short way. The alignment was badly messed up. The next day I took it to Jim & Tracy's and had them look at it and I called my insurance company. The adjuster gave an estimate and they procced to do the work promising me the truck in about a week. After a week I called them they said they needed a few more days. A few days later I called, this time they said they tried some after-market parts which wouldn't work, a few more days. Finally I called they said its ready but I can't get the truck back until they get full payment from my insurance. A couple more days, they get their payment I get the truck. They tell me the alinement is still off a little, the frame might be bent, I should take it to body shop. Then I notice they did NOT replace the running board like they said they would. I call the dealer, they recommended I take to another alinement shop, I did. They found that the frame was fine but the tie-rod was bent. They repaired the problem in less than 3 hours, and informed me that I was charged by Jim & Tracy's for replacing 4 ball joints but they only replaced 2, and I was charged for 2 rack and pinion but they only replaced 1. Also my dashboard was taken apart, now I have 3 screws rolling around on the dash and floor. I was not happy with Jim & Tracy's and would NOT recommend them for anything more than fixing flat tires. read more

I bought a used 2001 F-250 from a local lot, I will not name who ripped me off, and took it to Jim and Tracy's for an alignment. We found out that almost the entire front end needed replacement! BILLINGS BEWARE: I'm no stranger to the challenges of being a business owner and no one is perfect. However, if you value your LIFE or your money, DO NOT take your vehicle to Jim & Tracy's in Billings, MT. My co-workers and I are lucky to be alive and unfortunately out an extra $1,000 over the $5,000+ they charged to send us down the road in a deadly situation. I'm all for supporting the small guy, the local guy, but many lies and a dangerous trip later; Jim & Tracy's is the last place you want to take your vehicle. After some research, I'm not the only one that has been sent down the road in a vehicle with near deadly consequences. If you read into Jim & Tracy's replies/rebuttals to these negative experiences you'll find a repeated claim "They're sorry, they're not perfect, and we offered to fix it(after you pay tow it back or continue to risk your life driving it). After giving them ample opportunities to fix it right, finding someone else to fix it, seeing the numerous safety issues that almost cost us our lives, and getting no apology and a check for $175... On January 28, 2022 Jim and Tracy's Alignment replaced on my Toyota 4 Runner the rear shocks, the front strut assembly, the upper control arms with ball joints and lower ball joints, and completed a front end alignment. On March 13, 2022 while driving my Toyota I made a slow turn and my front driver side wheel made an abnormal sound. I put the vehicle in park and observed the wheel and tire. It was tilted severely at the incorrect angle. The vehicle was not drivable. I had it towed back to Jim and Tracy's. It was determined that Jim and Tracy's did not tighten the nut holding the bolt of the upper control arm. The nut had fallen off and the bolt had backed off 3 inches, thus the tilted angle of the tire. They also neglected to tighten the nut on the passenger side upper control arm. That bolt had backed out 1.5 inches from the assembly. After the tow, they replaced the bolts and missing nuts (they welded the nuts onto the bolts) and did a front-end alignment. They did not charge for this work and they paid for my tow. I took my vehicle to another mechanic to verify that it was safe to drive. Upon inspection the alignment caster and toe were off, and the rear passenger shock was loose. On April 4, 2022 I asked to be reimbursed for the alignment I had done at a different shop. The shop foreman denied reimbursement. Significant errors were made on my vehicle. These types of errors could have caused severe injury to myself and my family if this had occurred when driving down the highway. Not to mention the extensive damage to my vehicle and possibly other vehicles on the road. We put our trust in mechanics to do work that keeps us safe on the road. I spoke with Jim the owner after the incident. He said "With the economy being the way it is I push my guys hard. And sometimes human errors occur." I told him "These errors put my family at risk and for that reason I have zero confidence in your business. I will never be back." My wife's car had a small noise in the front end, so i took it in to have it checked out. They determined it needed new tie rod ends and a new steering rack.Also had them replace two belts. Bill was $1500.00. So we head off on our road trip and within 250 miles I develop a noise worse than the original. When we got back i returned the car to have it checked. They told me i needed new struts and wheel bearings for an additional $1700. I said i don't think so. I took it home and was talking to the boy that mows my lawn about the ordeal. He crawled under the car, found loose bolts on the steering rack, tightened the bolts, end of program!! read more
